In this Corfu travel vlog I show you my experience travelling to Greece and exploring Corfu. I'm Greek and I can tell you that the laundry has the most wonderful sense and smell of freshness if you hang it under the sun light. No dryer can accomplish that.

Greece is absolutely gorgeous. It has 80% wonderful mountains, 16.000 km of the most crystal clear seas in all diversity possible, incredible landscapes, highest biodiversity in Europe, unparalleled history, incredible culture, heavenly food, and wonderful wonderful people. And so so much more. An incredible mainland that makes up of 80% of it's total geography and 6000 wonderful islands around. Greece has 400 wetlands and waterlands which is truly impressive.
Most countries much bigger don't even have remotely close the amount. It's something incredible when you always have mountains around. Also Greece has 800 natural hotsprings which is one of the most hotspring rich countries on the planet. And Greece is stated as one of the top 3 best climates on the planet.
Seriously. Isn't this combination incredible?
Try traveling 1 month through this country on different areas on the mainland and some random selection of islands and you feel you have seen the world.

@@freeze7829 correct. Greece has 80% mountains. And not only that. 20% of all of Europes Ultra peak mountains lies in Greece. Switslzerland has 8 Ultra peaks. Austria 12. Ahd Greece 19
We have never been to Europe. Ever. So we are trying to plan a trip to Corfu. Can’t wait. Possibly buy a boat and live a board.

Reminded me of when I used to visit Mexico with my friends who refused to do anything except lay on the beach all day, and after 3 initially reluctant days, feeling more relaxed than I’d ever felt in my life. Absolutely love your video about Corfu. 20 years ago I was travelling to Zante with my college friends and because the Zante airport was closed due to it closing at a certain because of turtles being protected. We had to land in Corfu and we waited at the holiday palace. And 20 years later literally a week ago (7th April 2023) I visited Corfu again myself and stopped down the road from Corfu Holiday Palace at the Royal Grand Hotel; I visited the monastery, the beach, the Asian gardens, had lots really lovely food. Walked around the town and now looking at my next Greek adventure.

To take a ferry from Albania to corfu did you need to take pcr test/antigen test or proof of vaccine?
Yeah..I used to live in Corfu for several years, before move in Thessaloniki. Yes Corfu is a beautiful island with lots beautiful villages, beaches, food, ( you must try traditional plates like Mpourdeto, Pastitsada,Sofrito). Do you visited Vidos? Maybe not. It's a small island near in Corfu almost 10 minutes about with the boat. My favourite place there fro the summer. Full of trees and with a bar - restaurant - cafeteria there....if it's open of course. Also there has a camp.....is so relaxing island Vidos.... Also Benitses......Ipsos......Leukimi....😁 Gouvia.... 😁.Yes.... Corfu is beautiful.....

Being there 6 times wife is Greek myself Ecuadorian. My father in law has a house in South Corfu. I plan to become a 5 month expat within 3 or 4 years 5 months Cofu 7 months USA. Nice video glad you enjoy this wonderful island.

In Malta they tend to do it in Valletta too especially if they don't have a garden or roof.

I’m visiting Corfu next year! Btw there’s an airport in St Maarten in the Caribbean that also has an airport right by the beach with planes that go just above you. I was there 2 years ago and it was an experience

There is this a British influence in Corfu's architecture? Corfu's architecture seems very close to the Italian style in general...
not British at all (only the local badminton sport team!!! ) the architecture is Venecian and protected by Unesco

I visited corfu with a school trip this year and i was shocked at how different it looked from my home. Im from kozani and that place is just concrete apartment buildings and cold, and lmao i thought i was in Italy while in corfu
Most buildings in corfu town were built by italians. Go to any italian town.. it will be the same😅
Greece is the best and many of the places in modern day Albania and Turkey are Ancient Greek places

Corfu (Kerkyra) is a very beautiful island that i had the chance to visit in summer of 2020...
Back then restaurants and bars couldn't stay open after 00:00 due to government and their ways to protect people from COVID 🤔🤔
Hopefully i will go again in the near future without all these bs

On the other hand if you want to discuss if Greece has anything to do with figs, as you said "you know figs grow elsewhere as well......"
Well, Greece has a special connection with figs, it's almost a "national fruit" and if you didn't know we are pretty known in other countries for that.
From the ancient times that figs where everywhere, as trees, as dessert or in our food. From decorations and paintings and sculptures, mythology etc. The mentions in ancient texts from Aristotle and Theophrastus not only as a plain tree but they made biological observations about the intricate cultivation and sexual reproduction of the fig (they wrote scientific papers about it).
We have ancient history with figs, so now that you questioned it, I'm going to backtrack and state being Greek as a credential.
"Greeks know our figs, There I said it! You should listen to ME"
Been to Athens and Rhodes (actually we spent more than a month in Rhodes)...it's nice, but being a world traveler and seeing soooo much already, i expected wayy more :) Food? Well, salads are perfect, but again - maybe my expectations were way too high LOL. From my personal taste and traveling experience, I would say, the best food is in Japan (if you enjoy japanese food, of course!) and in...Ukraine! (if you like the variety!). If you guys prefer beaches, Turkey, Spain, Bali, Brazil and Mexico are best choices, for nature lovers - Costa Rica, British Columbia (Canada) and Azores; for art and culture - Italy hands down! :) We plan our trip to Balkans and very excited we found your channel! I think she refers to the fact that Corfu is so incredibly unique. So unique that nothing can prepare you for how you will be touched by Corfu’s energy and beauty. When you experience that for the first time it’s totally magical and at the same time unexpected because nowhere else on earth has ever had that effect on you before! Corfu is heaven on earth

Nobody expects incredibly dirty beaches in Corfu.
I was in Corfu this year. It is rainy, humid, moist, poor, very badly maintained and heavily overrated. Never again. Next year it will be Crete, Rhodes or any other Greek island. Yes, the people are very nice, eating is far cheaper than expected, the beaches just okay like at any other Greek island. But old mattresses, obsolete TVs, rusty cars, old tyres thrown on the road and generally garbage is not picked up, making it very messy. The roads are deplorable, the road signs if any, are rusty or hidden between bushes and trees. Obviously money is tight, but this was an extremely bad experience. Corfu was hit by tidal waves several times and no tourist guide does mention that. Making your visit to f.e. Agios Georgios a huge disappointment with only the cheapest possible tourists, destroyed buildings and ugly sites, plus again garbage in the streets. Avoid at any cost and go to another island. You will thank me later.
