    Hard to know the difference between suffering and feeling sorry for myself.
    I didn’t get vaccinated nor wore a mask during these couple years of Covid. My sister (super strong liberal) told me I’m not welcome to come to her house for thanksgiving and Christmas because I wasn’t vaccinated. My brothers and her continue to exclude me even though they all had Covid. I feel incredibly sad about this. My feelings are really hurt. So it’s hard to know if it’s suffering or just feeling sorry for oneself.
    I wouldn’t want to align myself incorrectly out of lack of self awareness.

      @Trump won (which he certainly did!) I'm unvaxxed as well, the same goes for most of my family so I haven't experienced what you're going through. For a family member to exclude you from their family functions because of a choice you made for your personal health is awful. They're obviously trying to bully you. Offer your suffering up to Jesus

    • @bethq1703
      @bethq1703 2 роки тому +2

      Trump Won, Jesus said in reading from Luke's gospel 12:49-53 that came up few Sundays ago, that he had not come to bring peace but to cause division. A household of 5 will be divided 3 against 2. Father against son, and son against Father. Mother against daughter and daughter against mother. He also says in bible that if you suffer in Jesus's name you will be greatly rewarded by him. So be assured that God will support you. So pray for your family as you know the power of God can convert any mind and heart. God bless. 🙏

      Maybe God is using their arrogance to shield you against getting Covid. As you pointed out, they got Covid anyway, but you didn't. You chose to trust Him to keep you safe and healthy. Let this trial bring you closer to Him. Praise Jesus, pray for them, and go on with your life.

    The return of Jesus Christ is likened to the coming of a thief in the night. Two passages use the wording “a thief in the night”: Matthew 24:43, “Understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into,” and 1 Thessalonians 5:2, “You know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.” But for centuries now Christians have claimed that Christ's return is days away! So maybe Christ is coming like a Senior Citizen using a walker:) I jest. But seriously the honest question for Christians is...How long is a reasonable amount of time to wait until the return of Christ before humanity moves on to actual taking responsiblity to solving world problems without religious input? I haven't been able to get an honest answer on this from any Christian...they dodge it with bible verses...rationalizations. I know the question is an uncomfortable one because it makes you question your faith. But for Christianity to be true the return of Christ has to happen correct? I know all the answers that the bible gives...but again I am asking human being to human being how long is a reasonable time frame for the world to keep the belief in Christ's return? 10 years? 100 years? 1000 years? 10,000 years?

    THE GOSPEL
    Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also
    ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
    - 1 Corinthians 15: 1-4 KJV
    Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. - John 15:13 KJV
    SAVALATION
    For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
    - John 3:16 KJV
    For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. John 3:17
    Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
    - John 14:6 KJV
    Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. Acts 4:12
    For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. Romans 5:10
    But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. - Isaiah 53:5
    For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. Ephesians 2:8-9
    And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.
    - Mark 1:15 KJV
    He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
    - John 3:36 KJV
    Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began. 2 Timothy 1:9
    For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost. Luke 19:10
    The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9
    He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. Mark 16:16
    For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. 1 Corinthians 15:22
    For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:7-8
    I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. John 10:9
    That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
    - Romans 10:9-11 KJV
    For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
    - Romans 10:13 KJV
    For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. Romans 1:16

    I think those three virtues are good if you’re single. I think they are easier to maintain if you are single. This talk comes from a priest who is single. But when you have teenage children these three virtues for the most part are impossible to follow. I’m not trying to be rude, but truth is truth. Talk to any parent and what we go through. Sleepless nights because we love our children and we see them going down the wrong road. And they rebel against their parents because we love them. This goes on for 10 years at least. So I believe those three virtues will come my way one day. But if I live those three virtues in front of my children they will just rebel all the more and take advantage of my kindness. I tried it already, it doesn’t work. So again, I think those three virtues work better for the single person seeking a religious life.

    • @DanielWSonntag
      @DanielWSonntag 2 роки тому

      It's true! If you have teenagers, you cannot practice virtues!

    • @Spectrometer
      @Spectrometer 2 роки тому +3

      Practising the virtues doesn't mean being a pushover either.
      For example, you can correct your children with meekness if you try to do it kindly, fairly, without unwanted anger.
      You can be patient while at the same time trying to resolve the situation you have (for example, a child misbehaving).
      You can be humble if you trust God for your children's life, and give Him thanks for the good things you have lived together.

    • @Spectrometer
      @Spectrometer 2 роки тому +3

      I know it's easier said than done, but it is not impossible, and, by the nature of virtues, it becomes easier with time.
      If anything fails, you can always ask God about it again.

      Excerpts from Humility of Heart by Fr. Gaetano Maria de Bergamo (1672-1753):
      "The true Christian virtues are born not of blood, nor the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God; that is, that they are not the work either of the desires, passions or reason of man, but proceed from God as their first principle, and return to God as their last end."
      Only by the grace of God that we can achieve them, keep praying and asking for God's mercy.
