Love the idea of this new podcast, Catholic Classics! Will watch out for this. Nice to see you again here in Ascension Presents, Fr. Pine! The first time I watched you in this channel, it was in an episode with Fr. Mark Mary of the Franciscans of the Renewal. God bless our friars! 🕊️🙏🙏🙏
Thank you for this refreshing video. I will seek God in the virtue of meekness this week in conversation. Look forward to the new podcast! God bless, Father.
Greetings Father Gregory, Thanks for the Insightful Words on Virtues of Patience, Humility and Meekness through Catholic Liturgical Works and HolyBible. With regards with Prayers for Everyone, RanjithJoseph (R.J)
Hard to know the difference between suffering and feeling sorry for myself. I didn’t get vaccinated nor wore a mask during these couple years of Covid. My sister (super strong liberal) told me I’m not welcome to come to her house for thanksgiving and Christmas because I wasn’t vaccinated. My brothers and her continue to exclude me even though they all had Covid. I feel incredibly sad about this. My feelings are really hurt. So it’s hard to know if it’s suffering or just feeling sorry for oneself. I wouldn’t want to align myself incorrectly out of lack of self awareness.
I’m so sorry to hear you’re going through this trial. I’d encourage you to discuss this situation with your priest so you may have peace. God bless! 🙏🙏
@Trump won (which he certainly did!) I'm unvaxxed as well, the same goes for most of my family so I haven't experienced what you're going through. For a family member to exclude you from their family functions because of a choice you made for your personal health is awful. They're obviously trying to bully you. Offer your suffering up to Jesus
Trump Won, Jesus said in reading from Luke's gospel 12:49-53 that came up few Sundays ago, that he had not come to bring peace but to cause division. A household of 5 will be divided 3 against 2. Father against son, and son against Father. Mother against daughter and daughter against mother. He also says in bible that if you suffer in Jesus's name you will be greatly rewarded by him. So be assured that God will support you. So pray for your family as you know the power of God can convert any mind and heart. God bless. 🙏
Maybe God is using their arrogance to shield you against getting Covid. As you pointed out, they got Covid anyway, but you didn't. You chose to trust Him to keep you safe and healthy. Let this trial bring you closer to Him. Praise Jesus, pray for them, and go on with your life.
Closer to God is the key to our Salvation. We are here to Know Love and Serve God. So this video and the coming audiobook will really help. Good to purchase book as backup. By the way heard Humility described as not thinking less of ourselves. But think of ourselves less. And So others more.
ST. CYRIL OF ALEXANDRIA: “Why do you judge your neighbors? If you venture to judge them, having no authority to do it, it is yourself rather that will be condemned, because God’s law does not permit you to judge others. Psalm 129:3: 'If you, O Lord, should mark our guilt, Lord, who would survive?'"
I listened to the introduction to the devout life on Catholic classics and it was awesome! Sorry, doing speech to text and I'm too lazy to put in punctuation, I'm sure you'll figure it out😂
I am a catechist in my parish. This is quite relevant with my lesson tonight. I wish I watched this prior to our class. Anyway, I could always go back and revisit our lesson on virtues. (One other thing, Fr. Gregory, I noticed you have a bump on your forehead. Have you had a doctor looked at it?)
The return of Jesus Christ is likened to the coming of a thief in the night. Two passages use the wording “a thief in the night”: Matthew 24:43, “Understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into,” and 1 Thessalonians 5:2, “You know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.” But for centuries now Christians have claimed that Christ's return is days away! So maybe Christ is coming like a Senior Citizen using a walker:) I jest. But seriously the honest question for Christians is...How long is a reasonable amount of time to wait until the return of Christ before humanity moves on to actual taking responsiblity to solving world problems without religious input? I haven't been able to get an honest answer on this from any Christian...they dodge it with bible verses...rationalizations. I know the question is an uncomfortable one because it makes you question your faith. But for Christianity to be true the return of Christ has to happen correct? I know all the answers that the bible gives...but again I am asking human being to human being how long is a reasonable time frame for the world to keep the belief in Christ's return? 10 years? 100 years? 1000 years? 10,000 years?

Practising the virtues doesn't mean being a pushover either. For example, you can correct your children with meekness if you try to do it kindly, fairly, without unwanted anger. You can be patient while at the same time trying to resolve the situation you have (for example, a child misbehaving). You can be humble if you trust God for your children's life, and give Him thanks for the good things you have lived together.
