Be careful- the therapist did not say there was mutual abuse but that Amber said in first session there was mutual abuse. Not her own assessment.
@@Trueself-psychology I think her testimony was murky and misleading. She should have been more prepared and the attorney should be defining or at least clarify who is asserting what. I mean it's a mess though I don't know which one was questioning her because it was benign not bizarre or insulting.i ts probably Amica Turds because their only hope is smoke and mirrors.

People are criticizing the therapist because she can’t recall some details she had written, not that I am justifying her ability to be a clinical psychologist, but remember, this was more than five years ago and who knows how many patients she has and notes to recall from each individual patient, even if they are celebrities.
You know they’re called Notes and she could’ve had them as a reference just saying I don’t understand why you had to go for the devils abdicate

When you are goaded, mocked, shouted at, accused, baited, shoved, name called day in, day out, it’s natural to occasionally yell “shut up” or use a little verbal abuse in return.
It’s not “mutual abuse”. It’s simply because the victim is at breaking point and has had enough of the constant bombardment of abuse.
If you haven’t been in this situation, do not comment.
A better term for it would be reactive abuse. The abuser breaks the victim down, then when the victim finally snaps, the abuser turns around and says "see? YOU'RE the abusive one" gaslighting them, and putting all the blame on the victim.
I remember being guilt tripped and gaslit, I felt crazy. Like I was actually overreacting to it and that my response was completely unreasonable, but it was reasonable. There's only so much a human being can take before your mind takes over to protect you.
It's a sick, utterly exhausting cycle. I hope that he's able to heal and find happiness, and that other men can find the courage to come forward about the abuse they've experienced.
Im a therapist. Please keep in mind we often keep notes intentionally vague to protect client privacy. I wouldn't be able to recall session details 5 years after the fact.

The Therapist said something extremely important that was cut off. She said that Johnny was having a problem finding his voice! Basically, she's saying that this Amber girl is very verbally abusive because this man hides from confrontation.

She said for herself that he struggled to find his voice in the sessions. If that's not a sign of his passive behaviour. Also, I'm sure Amber had alot to say in these sessions.
He may have gone to therapy to please his wife, but wasn't up for spilling his guts. I give him credit for at least trying, though. Someone commented that they only did 4 sessions with this therapist. If that's true, she hardly knows them. You barely scratch the surface in 4 sessions. It takes a long time to build trust with a therapist.

@@edelweiss2.076 took me a year to finally start opening up with my therapist. She stood with me through my joking and laughing phase, and made sure I felt comfortable and supported. My trust issues are off the scale, so I still don’t 100% trust her, but she’s shown me nothing but respect, so I feel so much more comfortable now. This is seeing her once a week FOR A YEAR. So absolutely, 4 sessions is essentially just uptake.

Last sentence (paraphrased): When Amber described Mr. Depp's violence, Mr. Depp was NOT present. So important, because that is not him confirming mutual abuse. Also she said when Mr. Depp was alone in sessiosn he was able to freely speak, and find his voice. That for me is a classic sign of intimidation.
My sister has Personality disorder and would go to therapy and create lies about her husband. She would even scratch her own face and say he did it. She would set up her husband as the abuser since she was angry at him and angry that he wanted a divorce. She initiated all the fights and instigated them and recorded poor guy making it look like he's the abuser! Sounds familiar?!!!!!
If she's lied to everybody else...she probably lied to the counselor too...Johnny isn't perfect...but I still do not believe he was beating on Amber...Amber admitted herself on a recording that she hit him....Amber may have come to the session with what looked like bruising...but the therapist cannot say she saw Johnny do it to her...she's only going by what Amber says to her...so not definitive proof that Johnny hit her...nobody has seen him hit her...so she can't prove that he did...no other witnesses present...the photos she presented could be tampered with to make it look like her face is bruised or she used make up to make it look that way...numerous people have testified that they never saw injuries to her face...but ones testified that Johnny had Mark's on his face...& I don't think he used make up to make it look that way & he certainly did not fake a severed fingertip....I get the feeling from this counselor testimony...she's leaning slightly sympathetic to Amber...but one things for sure...Amber hit Johnny not just once...so her story about Johnny being a monster & she was a victim of a wife beater...and she wasn't hitting Johnny...just not true...the op ed she did painted a complete different picture...so she lied.
Yeah I’ve known someone exactly the same as that too, it’s just sickening that the real abuser don’t get the right medication to control that type of behaviour before it gets too far out of hand and the wrong person gets destroyed through it all.

What they show is that two damaged ppl further abuse each other. Granted she perhaps isn't the best face for dv but caution needs be taken in this view as it's similar to say and can be used against victims that if eg. A woman is promiscuous and gets raped that it was her bahvior that led to this. This case highlights how severe dysfunction needs a much better therapist! One for each of them individually and a separate couples therapist..... this one woman wasn't a. Good enough or just b. Enough since they both have their own separate issues on top

You clearly have never been verbally or mentally abused and it shows. When someone manipulates your mind, there's no right way to react. Because your mind is being played with. How unfair to criminalize her for her abuse but to brush off anything he might have done to her.
This is such an important point. The abuser instigates fights and traps the victim between a rock and a hard place: they manipulate you to stay and engage (effectively they won’t let you leave) but, if you attempt to defend yourself, and don’t just accept the abuse, then they create more drama about how you’re the problem. As the victim gets more disempowered, sad, confused, angry, they become more defensive and find themselves reacting in ways they never would have expected or seen from themselves before. Unhealthy behavior develops in them in response, like an abused animal develops aggressive behavior.
Wow, if she saw from her sessions that Depp "had a problem, having a voice" then that is basically confirming that he is a passive guy, if things get rough he shuts down. Amber then just ran him over, and, I wonder if she didn't just love the power of demeaning this man.
She just love the fact that the Johnny everyone adores and put on a pedestal is in her pocket & she can use him as a her own personal Puppet! It is Power play that was difficult for her to tune down!! This is never about feminism or me too!!

Abuse is about an imbalance of power and control. In an unhealthy or abusive relationship, there may be unhealthy behaviours from both sides, but in an abusive relationship,one side tends to have more control than the other. Mutual abuse does not exist. The behaviour of the victim will be affected by the abuse and they may try and defend themselves, this is not abuse. The excuse of mutual abuse also allows the actual abuser to shift blame. They will use the victims reactions to the abuse against them.
I agree. The therapist implied that AH only got physically abusive because she had issues with abandonment, she kind of sounded like she was justifying her behavior! Not right. It is never justified.
You are so right!..there's no such as mutual abuse! There's always a shift in the dynamics. I was married to an abusive partner years ago & it took me years to be able to retaliate or defend myself & he tends to like it when I did because he used this as a prop to say I hit him! she heard from amber that he was violent and verbally abusive and as much as you want to lick johnnys ahole its been shown in texts he absolutely was verbally abusive, im not saying amber wasnt cause she certainly was, this lady is just doing her job, get over it.
She also had bruises on her. Maybe he “communicates” physically. This is the prosecution’s case. Try to keep an open mind-just as the jurors are instructed to do.

What sense does it make to hit someone in an attempt to make them stay? I would love to know if Amber has ever been diagnosed with any of the cluster b personality disorders. Her behavior seems to fit that. Johnny’s drinking and drug use may have gotten worse due to the stress of the relationship. I think clearly they both have issues but she is absolutely nuts. She spit on her assistant. Seems very volatile.
GTFOH Depp has been using alcohol and drugs for a long time. They both abused each other yet she gets all the hate.

I think the spitting incident is being mischaracterized. She didn't mean to spit on her assistant. She did become enraged and got in the assistant's face and verbally abused her and spit came out of her mouth. Not a pleasant experience, but different from deliberately spitting on someone.

What I wish someone would be smart enough to make a point of is that therapists are trained to not treat a couple together if they feel someone is being seriously abused or is in danger. If there is ever a risk they are supposed to assess this then refer them to individual therapy or create a safety plan for the person at risk or in danger. The reason for this is because in DV cases, couples therapy can increase violence. The abuser may abuse their partner further for speaking up in session or for feeling like they were exposed etc. So if AH was actually abused she would not be treating them, she would be finding out how to separate them safely and quickly.

If someone punched me in the face all the time, and took a peice of my finger off from throwing a bottle at me, I would 100% be verbally abusive as retaliation. These things are not equal when talking about context. Even more considering he ran and she chased. What is he supposed to do? Not cus her out after being physically abused and unable to run away?
Evidence will be presented that his finger could physically not have been injured by a bottle in the manner he described. Doctors will testify. He admitted on more than one occasion that he cut his finger himself. Nor did this therapist say that Amber "punched" him. Naturally, his fans will disregard any evidence they don't like. Thankfully, they are not on the jury.
But what if what you're saying happened in reverse huh? What if Johnny being a drunk and an addict was mentally abusive and verbally abusive causing ambers violent retaliations? It's like ppl always say " there's no excuse for violence" but there's always an excuse for mental abuse right ? Rediculous how people don't see this as a mutually toxic and abusive relationship.

And second, there has been non-stop stacking evidence and testimony showing that Turd was the aggressor and Depp was always the one running. Even Turd in the audio clips put him down constantly for running away from fights. I'm not talking about ifs, I'm going off the facts we know.
It's even gotten so bad for Turd, even a makeup company called her out publicly for her lies. She said she used a very specific brand to hide the bruises on her face every day and was called out by that brand, showing that the makeup she claims to have used everyday wasn't even released until 2017, which was long after they had separated and haven't met anymore. Her constant lying is extremely damning. I just don't understand how people can back her. If there comes out with damning proof and not just word of mouth that Depp hit her, then things will change. But with the amount of lies she's been caught making, even under oath, word of mouth isn't nearly enough, not for a known pathological liar.
Are the attorneys allowed to asked questions of Dr. Laural Anderson such as "would your diagnosis still be mutual abuse if it was discovered that Amber had received BOTOX injections for 'crows feet', from a licensed Aestheticsion? And that Arnica cream is commonly recommended to clients after receiving BOTOX injections because of the redness and bruising that occurs around the eye areas and upper cheekbones?" Or something to that effect. Because Laural mentioned Amber only reported violence when Johnny was not there. She mentioned Johnny was not able to speak, having a hard time having a voice. She mentioned Johnny did not tell her about his injuries i.e the finger. There has not been one person who has seen any evidence of injuries on Amber at any time, not doctors, not the hospital, not nurses, not friends, not family members, not neighbors, not work colleagues, not talk show hosts, not police officers. And the ONLY pictures she has show that slight redness around the eye areas. So I am curious, because those pictures are indicative and look EXACTLY 💯% the way people's faces look after receiving BOTOX injections. As well as the use of Arnica cream. Would Laural Anderson have had the same findings? And are attorneys allowed to ask questions like that? And also to ask Dr. Curry if it was found that those pictures and injuries were in fact from Amber receiving BOTOX injections for 'crows feet', the pictures Amber has said is abuse from Johnny. What would that be saying?". Also to question Dawn Hughes about what it would say about Amber? What it would mean to the all of the doctors findings? To find out that there was never any violence from Johnny toward Amber and in fact the only violence was from Amber toward Johnny. What would the diagnosis be then?

@@awahpahpow7735 therapists testify in court all the time and they HATE doing it. It makes them a nervous wreck which is why they’re fidgety. They purposefully keep vague notes for the client’s privacy and to prevent them from being incriminated legally later unnecessarily if they’re records were to be subpoenaed for court. Information you relay to your therapist is protected like attorney client protection. Same with your doctor.

Or are you just a fan that is now jumping in to watch this case thinking that what they’ve seen on TV is what it’s like in real life because I see that a lot in these comment sections lately and as someone who does watch a lot of court it’s really annoying. therapists do testify often and she is there to give her recollection it is up to lawyers to ask questions in order to gather relevant information so the jury can decide who is telling the truth, hell you could say every witness up there may not be remembering correctly so then why have any witness testimony at all? Also in a relationship both people can be abusive right it’s not just either or. I don’t see how she seemed disingenuous she wasn’t saying anything bad about Johnny in fact she said that Amber was the one to usually start the issues. If she had some sort of bias why would she even say that?

@@johndough5192 LOL. It's so much nicer to just be able to watch and not be influenced by anyone's opinion. :-) I Did end up finding another channel that was just posting the whole thing unedited. (Hugging the Cactus.) Almost 7 hours of footage each day. That's so much more than just a bit over an hour with commentary of other people's opinions and cutting the court off while they are still speaking. Might take me awhile to watch it all, but I prefer it that way for sure.

Not all therapists keep every detail in their notes, but not knowing who walked out or important notes about their sessions is a little much.

Just because AH said there was mutual abuse to her therapist does not make it true, or facts, esp. because Johnny was not there when that occured. Johnny never talked badly about her to non privat friends, he suffered inside , its normal behavior for someone that loves a person that is abusive to not be open for a long time , often years go by. He is definitely a passive communicator. Communication types are huge in relationships. I'm engaged to a passive communicator and i am a assertive one. I grew up in a huge loving family that talked things out. Learning your partners communication style, definitely helps. I can't see a passive communicator being physically abusive unless they are provoked for hours to do so.

This counselor is definitely biased. She’s closer to Amber, it’s clear by her testimony and continued use of “Amber” instead of “Ms. Heard.”
* People giving depositions for Amber are all through video and all of Johnny’s are there in person to support him. It is very telling about the quality of her relationships and the type of person she is. She comes off as extremely immature, disingenuous, narcissistic, and selfish.
From my viewpoint, it seems many people are biased towards Johnny. Particularly Ambers former assistant, Kate. She seems to have been jealous that she couldn't have Johnny but Amber did.

This therapist has made several subjective opinions about like for instance Amber slapping Johnny because she felt demeaned. That was the counselors opinion and should’ve been objected to.
Amber stated that she slapped Johnny because she wanted to keep the fight going and she did not like to be disrespected so that's not objective she's going off of what Amber said to her.

There is no duty to report domestic violence unless children are involved or if there's a communicated intention to kill someone. Laws can vary between states but from what i've heard she hasn't done anything wrong legally.
Because autonomy is so huge in therapy the goal in DV cases is often to empower the victim to leave/help the perpetrator learn to regulate if they insist on staying together. Going over a victim's head and reporting to police is a huge violation of trust. I agree the therapist's language about this sounds dismissive though, although a lot of that is her just summarizing what AH told her in session.

I think the issue is that she only had 4 sessions with them and it sounds like they kept walking out of it. That is not a lot of time for quality care. Especially when she says Johnny "struggled to find his voice" which sounds like he said little and Amber said a lot, making it sound like she is basing a lot of her opinions on one side of the story.

That's also reflected in her deposition. I don't understand to what extent yet they were both culpable for committing domestic violence, but I know it hasn't been a torrent of one-sided abuse like she's tried to imply, where he forces her to barricade herself in a room without food and writes messages on the wall with blood.

The therapist got played by Amber. Therapist used Amber’s words to assume there was mutual abuse. Therapist only saw photos (Fake) of bruises shown to her by Amber. Followed this situation for 2 years in detail. Your reporting of this is surface
Yeah, and this therapist even said they didn't appear to be deep bruises. Just shadowing and light color. This was the same time when Amber said she had a broken nose and two black eyes. I've had a broken nose and both eyes would be purple with swelling all over the face. Amber totally played her and knew she would be a key piece if this came to trial. She did clarify that Amber dominated Johnny and never let him speak, admitted that she had started most fights + hit him on several documented occasions (meaning AH perjured herself when she lied under oath and said she hit him only one time in self defense). Abuse isn't just physical, so mutual abuse could mean anything. Though, victims of abuse who are cornered and bludgeoned with emotional abuse do sometimes lash out or break down and that doesn't mean they're abusive. When she quoted johnny saying "she gave as good as she got" this does NOT confirm that he meant physically. It could have been anything, verbal disputes included. I just hope the jury doesn't get hung up on these semantics.

No such thing as mutual or reactive abuse. There’s 1 main aggressor, and someone who self-defends (this doesn’t count as abuse). Looks like Depp is too agreeable and Heard is too manipulative + disagreeable. In only 4 short sessions Heard could’ve also easily mislead/manipulated this therapist. Some therapists just lack what I call an innate intuitive ability. It’s not all books.

I’ve been around 44 years and have lived in 12 different states (military) and out of all of the people I have met, I would guess less then 10 couples are the “rip the band aid off” type when it comes to breaking up. It always drags on until someone finds another love interest or they can make the person that is always begging them not to leave, dislike them enough they will think it was their own idea to leave.
She fights, argues and demeans and she can’t get her way so she fights harder, Johnny wants to leave so she expresses anger and verbally abuses him hoping(in some twisted ass way) he’ll realize what she is saying is true and that it’s his fault and that realization will make him change. But when it doesn’t and he just wants to leave, she’ll beg him, physically stop him from leaving and start crying. So, Johnny stays because he doesn’t want to hurt her, or he just wants her to shut up and she lets up in trying to get her way so he’ll stay. Wash, rinse, repeat. Repeat repeat, then he’s fed up and starts dishing back to her which is exactly what she wants because it’s attention.
So she wore him down, backed him into a corner, pushed him until he bit her and now Wants to say “oh poor me, I was so innocent”
I’ve watched it happen with my parents on more occasions than I can count I am 44.

But was he abusive to Amber - no abusers like Amber are known to taunt their victims until they defend themselves in the same way and then they cry wolf. That’s exactly what is happening. He was pushed too far.
