Mom and I watched this at some old film festival and we read the book before watching the movie. We laughed so hard at this scene and it's kinda a meme within our family because we know a couple of Lindas. "What do you think, LINDA?"
I saw a clip of "Linda, you're absolutely fantastic!" back when this movie was new...maybe in the trailer? I've always remembered it, and now I finally get to see it again, nearly 60 years later. I admit that I remembered it incorrectly as "Linda, you're incredible!"
@@cluckendip I personally was intrigued by it because I had read a lot of Ray Bradbury by then, but I didn't see the complete movie till the 1970s on TV. I know it was talked about to some degree when it was released but it wasn't a really major hit.
After almost five years, I finally realised the audio on this video is way too quiet... I put subtitles in for anyone who wants to know what they're saying.
I love this film and this scene, although funny, it's also pretty scary. This shows the reality as we already know. This is an idiocracy in practice. I watched the Netflix version few days later and I have no words to describe how disappointing this film is.
One thing I couldn't understand in that good movie: the 2 guys in the classroom, who must not sit beside each other, and the "it's your idea" scene later?? What was that about anyway??????????????
@@nourmourad4158 no. No.no. there is. no meaning. The book makes a point to talk about this. Lol. It's frivolous and everyone goes about their lives not doing anything meaningful. Beaty tells his wife, "but that's all very well, but what are they mad at?. . .Who are these people?. . . Good God, nothing's connected up." That's part of the story, his awakening into a world where he doesn't even know his wife of 10 years. He asks her about a significant moment in their marriage that she can recall and she doesn't even know or care, she just laughs it off. You should read the book, it's really interesting. Most of all, it's still pertinent to today's society.

I feel like Linda's sense of satisfaction eerily mirrors that which people feel when they retweet a celebrity.
They nailed what future TV's would look like
Look, a flat screen TV back in 1966

"What do you think, LINDA?"
I watched this movie with my mother in the 90s and she saw it as a teenager in the 60s.
Nice prophetic wall-mounted, flat screen tv.
The earliest use of a large flat screen 2 Way Television devise was in Charlie Chaplain's "Modern Times"
@@guymontag6711 Modern Times looks like 5:4 aspect ratio and probably a CRT at that, however...This looks 16:9 and truly flat...
I had to watch this in school. I love this scene so much
Same here!
I've watched this too at The Children's Institute, my school, some 20 years ago.
me too

Notice how BIG and futuristic the television is!
This is the future if fads in the 60s never changed

Dora for adults
That’s exactly what I thought!💯
Can’t believe they got access to that tv prototype
Linda..?
Or Mildred?
🤔
This is my favorite scene in the movie. Sometimes I'll just randomly play it out in my head. LOL
Linda you're absolutely fan tas tic!
I like how she's so spaced out she thinks they are really speaking to her. @@wickster2121
Early Peloton commercial.
Minus the exercise bikes though!
Commenting to a video. What Do You Think?
1:20 What do you think LINDA!?* beep * beep * beep
😐
You know, Quasimodo predicted all of this.
When I read this I keep thinking of the half-life scientist, "I predicted all of this you know, _all_ of it!"
I don't know if Quasimodo was fully able to predict, but he did have a hunch.
@@montag4516 Excellent!
@@montag4516 nice
Quasimodo? That name rings a bell.
Well that was creepy
Austin Davis yes it was creepy what do you think Linda
So is every d@mn thing presented and blasted onto the masses by the controllers of MSM. The opposite of all that is real and natural.
The echo chamber is deafening.

In the book, Beaty asks the same question. He's says they say "so much without saying anything at all".

Wait a minute… Isn’t Netflix starting to do this for Linda?
Because why not
But why though
the first gay couple in a film
XD
LOL
LOL
Oh look! It's UA-cam, with interactive social media, WEEoo!
Just because they're just not dumbed down enough yet, not even Linda.
That's what is called German precision...LOL...

Which makes no sense.
