Dennis is the Dayman. He championed the darkness with friendship when he showed up at Charlie's apartment and opened the curtains to let the sunlight in.
I would argue that Charlie is the Little Boy, while Dennis is the Nightman who fills him up at night and Mac is the Dayman who fights the Nightman. Charlie always seems the happiest when he teams up with Mac and ends up the most distraught when he goes along with Dennis' plans.

Rob NAILED that dancing. It was a perfect combination of the shirt riding up exposing his belly, the footwork, and the smile he had on his face. It’s so beautifully done.

I reckon despite his dyslexia Charly is actually a very creative guy, he paints, writes musicals, plays a piano, sings like it’s nobody’s business, comes up with the craziest ideas which a “normal” well adjusted member of society would never come up with. He projects certain innocence and child like kindness and warmth. All the other main characters are scheming, back stabbing jerks.
