Thank you, I used to be so flexible but thrown my disk few years ago and after that I’m struggling so bad with hamstring stretches
Thats why I love yoga videos
Me too! I was at a dance competition and I partially tore my hamstring about half a year ago and my flexibility is terrible now
Yep, same
Same! I'm still recovering
Same but I am still quite flexible and I can touch my face on my knees...
The way my jaw DROPPED. just an hour ago I wanted to be able to stretch like that and now im finding this video
The phone's are always listening
UA-cam got you😅
Same for me! But I didn’t even talk about it or look it up. Sometimes I feel like my phone is just reading my thoughts
We need update, did this technique helped?
@@randomstrangeroninternet5348this won't help in a day or two. Years of unstretching made your muscles tighten there. It would take months of stretching to get ot flexible.
Omg, I always wondered why I can't do this when I can standing. No one ever told me to rock forward onto my sit bones. Thanks!!!
Gosh when I found up that sitting bones exist, it makes so much sense
Same! This just helped so much I gotta go try that now and see the difference!! 😂😅
RIGHT?! i just thought i was too chubby 😭😭😭
I wasn’t able to touch my toes for decades and after daily yoga for 6 months I’m folding like a PBJ sandwich 😅
I‘m struggling with this too - and specific exercises/stretches you did that helped you?? I would rlly appreciate any recommendations for stretches / yoga rountines or positions!
Same to the above comment, would love to know more
Do u have any tips for beginners
i’ve been doing yoga since 2019 and im as flexible as a rock what am i doing wrong 😭
Please recommend how to start
I have badly ripped my hamstrings couple years ago, now zero strecth
For the first time in my life I feel seen with my struggles in forward folding! I have always had very tight hamstrings despite working out my core a lot- especially how I trained a lot several years ago. Recently I have been strength training more powerfully again and naturally started tilting my pelvis forward and experienced this shift on my own- but hearing it and seeing it demonstrated like this felt so good to know I was heading in the right direction without creating an injury or something. Thank you so much for this!
Finally I found a tutorial. My dance teachers never explained me how I should do this exercise and I always used to end up doing it wrong all along.
I was never told about this pelvic rock to assist in this stretch. It absolutely helps! Huge difference, thank you!
More like this please! As a not flexible person is so difficult to know how to do yoga without forcing the body in the wrong direction
They need a folder blanket under the sit bones help as well. That lift makes a big difference
Thank you, I only follow yoga videos that have alternative poses for people with less mobility, and you got yourself a subscriber with this short.
OMG after 29 years of not knowing today I could! Thanks you so much!!
I watched a video, not yours, that was critiquing exercises and some of them looked like ones that I were doing. He said they were ineffective and didn't work anything. I got really sad and felt like I did and tried for nothing and that I failed. I'm very glad to have found your video. It really brightened my day. I'm not really flexible and am working on that so this gives me some hope that I'll make it to my final fitness goal. Thanks so much!
OMG!! Now I get it, you are the first person ever to be able to help me in this!! -_-
I can do this pose properly ( like touching the chest to knees)....
This is one of the easiest yoga poses.
Thank you! I have not seen an explanation this thorough before- can’t wait to try it out during my next stretch session!
I was in bed when i watched this. Jumped off, grabbed my yoga mat and tried this....huge difference 👍TFS. I also did other stretches while i was there.
I love a good forward fold 😊 When I started yoga, I couldn't even touch my feet, but now, after months and months of practice I can rest my whole chest on my thighs. It's crazy to me that my body can actually do this. I was almost 40 when I started, I never thought my flexibily could improve as much as it has. Of course I'm still struggling with a lot of poses (chauranga is my nemesis, my elbows just won't bent the right way), but the fact that I'm seeing improvements makes me proud of myself, for getting on my mat each day and not giving up. If you're like me, in your late 30s and you think of starting yoga, just do it, I promise it would do you good. Just start slow, 15 min a day. We can all find 15 min in our day and once you create the habit, it's in your routine and you can't stop :)
Omg, that helped tremendously. Thank you so much 🙏.
Yupp that’s exactly how I look lol. I’ll be trying this tomorrow morning ❤
Thank you! When I do not do yoga for a while this is EXACTLY what happens and I never really knew why. This makes sense!
really makes a huge difference for me. thank you!
I used to do your challenges!!! Glad I found your shorts ❤
Describes me exactly. Thank you for the tip
Omg this is so HELPFUL! TY
Thank you so much. This change helped a lot
Putting your arms up also helps, then fold. It helps with the "up and over" instead of just over.😊
Thanks! This is very helpful!💜😊
Oh my this is a revelation to me, thank you so much for this!!
Ohhh 😮 good to know because that’s definitely me
Where has this been my whole life!?!?!? 🤯🥹✨🫶🏽
Super helpful!! thanks a bunch. I always got problems with seated folding forward and standing forward fold. Maybe am a bit competitive or embarrassed during yoga sessions when majority of students can do it
Great advice, thank you so much!❤
Thank you Bub ❤
This is exactly what I needed! Thank you! 😊
😮 this is my silent wish granted. Thank you. Show me more
as a yoga student, i like how she really nicely explained the process of the forward fold on the floor or as we call it paschimotanasana, the true forward fold position is when we sit down with straight legs with a straight back and then you raise your arms and then bend so that your abdomen touches the thighs then you touch your chest then the noses on your knees, to get this position we recommend rock back and forth from the fold while on the ground, Hope it helps!😊
I was actually able to do it without any difficulty. Amazing tips ❤
Can’t wait to try. I was already in bed when I saw this!
I couldn’t touch my toes forEVER. I tried and every time it would hurt so much. I started stretching every morning and I can touch them now! One of those simple pleasures. Along with touching my toes I have great leg and hip mobility so I can sit and get in weird child like positions that I use for my stimulation. Super super awesome.
Shout out to the algorithm for answering this question i asked IN MY MIND earlier today 😅
THIS HELPED SO MUCH
Thank you so much for explaining this and giving an example of what to do to correct it. I thought I was the only one who couldn’t do this.
This is soooo helpful. Thanks!
It DOES!
THANK YOU
Oh wow I didn't even think about it like that!!! Rotate/rock pelvisssss
Lol I have the rolled pelvis and it’s so annoying. I could never figure out why I felt so inflexible for ages, especially as an athlete who stretched all the time. One of the girls from our older teams pointed it out and it helped so much cause I figured out how to stretch my tight as hell hamstrings 😂
Omg this is amazing! Thank you!!!
thank you so much. I struggle with that pose all time . Now its much more easier ❤
I love your little scootch at the end 😅❤
Great explanation and illustration! Also, you can stretch hamstrings at barre or flat on back doing leglifts.
yes, all three for me
Sigh, I can't as I have too much 'padding' in my way at the moment. Any modifications for us bigger folk please?
Try a yoga block! Or a couple of firm and thick pillows, anything to raise your bum off the floor as you do the stretch :) best of luck
Folded form blankets under your sit bones are best.
I saw a similar video about a month ago and it seriously makes such a huge difference! I’m getting so much deeper in my forward folds than I ever have, the difference was instantaneous 🙌
Oh wow!! I'll have to try this. I did dance for four years, and not once did my dance teacher clarify how to do it properly. Thank you!! It will be much easier to do that scretch now ^-^
THANK YOU!!!!! I was literally just doing that stretch and couldn’t!
doing a cat cow motion with ur hips in the forward fold can help stretch both the inside of ur thighs and calves as well as the back of ur thighs and ur glutes. its such an underrated stretch because most people dont know how to utilize it
Yesss!!! This is soo meeee!! Thank youu
Thank you for solving this problem. That’s the problem I always have and you solved it.❤
Thank you for helping us not so flexible people! 😅
Any tips on keeping hamstrings and groin stretchy? I do my stretches and exercises every day but as soon as I've slept everything is stiff as f again. Feels like I'm always fighting those 2 things 😬
Check out knees over toes guy. There are 5 stretches he talks about that also help with knee pain. It targets the leg muscles as well
If you're only doing static stretching/exercices, then trying dynamic counterparts might help! And it's only normal to feel stiff in the mornings as your muscles haven't warmed up yet!
@@litzo5957I second this! You shouldn’t be going straight into stretches like this, get yourself warm first then stretch.
This is a suggestion but maybe massage your leg muscles ❤ it might not work Idek cuz I don’t have that issue anymore but maybe it might work for u
This is really great. Ive been having this exact problem and now have 0 questions how to fix it. Very informative. Thank you
Great explanation - thanks!
Thank you so much and upload videos more for beginners and to overcome the challenge to do the pose.
Thank you for this!!!!!!!!!!!!
Omg help me more ! I need way more help then this short alone! Please make a full corrective posture practice video
This is the first time in my life I've ever been able to do this, thank you so much ♡
Thank you!!!! ❤❤❤❤
That looks good. I'll try it asap.
After a few months of starting gymnastics late, I can do that with my elbows on the floor
Thank you!!
Well, I'm going to have to subscribe, excellent advice thank you
Omg! I fell in love
That was very helpful thank you
Thank you omg!!
I’m new to any sort of exercise and I’m so intimidated by yoga but I want to try it so much. Thank you for this. It helps more than you know.
Great cues!
I've been doing it wrong my whole life!! Gym teachers even damaged my hamstrings, slamming me downward. So I just thought I couldn't do it. I'm definitely going to start doing this more! It has really helped!! Thank you!!
(Addressing the Gym teachers: it was the early 90s, no one cared about stuff like that and i was a young child so no i didnt sue. Please don't tell me to. Those gym teachers are deceased, deserve to rest in peace and i dont hold their mistakes against them. Niether should you. Thanks! )
Love it!
Thank you 🙏🏿
I remember as a kid trying to touch my toes, people said it didn't count if you bent your knees, and no matter how often I stretched, I never could reach further. My family doctor even yelled at me over it saying I'd have back problems if I didn't fix this. Fast forward a decade and a half when I started working out and lifting, and wow it's way easier to progress to touching your toes if you stretch with your knees bent, however bent they need to be at the time. As long as you feel the stretch, it's enough.
Perfect explanation wth wrong n right. Subscribed. Thanks
You have a beautiful smile ☺️
Thank you.
Thank you for talking about bending the knees! I remember when my friend told me it was better to have 'soft and spongey' knees when doing stretches then having them locked with a stiff straight leg
Thanks 😊
Nicely explained. Thanks!
Thank you so much. I Always wondered why this happened.
Thankyou so much
Thank you
I just had this problem today! I was trying so hard lol!
I think you’re wonderful 🙏🏻☺️
Oh thanks for that , gonna try that next time I do yoga 😊
Thanks for sharing
I still can't reach my toes but I'll practice more😅
Super helpful. I have tight tight hamstrings so I think that might be part of it but the pelvis advice helps. Thank you!
very helpful, thanks
actually very helpful 😂😂..exactly what i was looking for but better , thanks
Thanks 🙏
Amazing, thank you!
Omg... I just did my first forward fold ever 🤣🤣🥹🤞
You are so unbelievably beautiful
