    3:57 Can you tell me please the name of the silk-style background matting technique that you mention? I would like to look into how the technique is done but can’t quite determine what word you are using. Thank you for sharing all of your wonderful insight.

      nanako it is done by hand with a a very small punch

      Hello Teresa, as 'Dwardle' wrote, the technique is called nanako. If you search the videos on my channel you'll find a three part series on all aspects of the process.

    Why do they plug the kogatana,kozuka holes? Artistic balance doesn't satisfy me. There must be a reason.
