With portulacaria Afra you should wait until you see new growth of leaves coming out! It can take up to 2-3 weeks then u water normally but no water until then

And I put them in the ground, in full sun, or in big 30 gal pots. You could probably mimic this anywhere with a grow trent and a strong enough grow light. And I water them way more than anyone should water a succulent.. Soil is half potting soil and half perlite in a pot, or half small gravel in the ground. Rarely fertilize with miracle grow.
