- This is the exact place where Maa Sita grew up. The very spot once held the palace of Maa Sita, This Janaki Mandir is dedicated to both Maa Sita and Bhagwan Rama. In 1657, a golden murti of Maa Sita was discovered at this exact location. and also this was the same place where Sannyasi Shurkishordas had uncovered the paintings of Goddess Sita. interestingly there is a temple in Ayodhya, known as Kanak Bhavan, which was constructed as an exact design of this temple. The temple is also known as the Nau Lakha Mandir, meaning "nine lakhs," as the construction cost matched the amount of gold coins. Queen Vrisha Bhanu built the current temple over the ancient Mahal in 1910. Every year, thousands of pilgrims from all over the world visit this Temple. next to the temple stands the Vivaha Mandap, where Bhagwan Rama and Maa Sita were married.
