Somehow in this anime and especially in the manga it did portrayed how messy, difficult and traumatizing the healing process is. When you lost someone you loved. Sure, there were times while reading the manga that I got pissed off with Kou when he always left Futaba hanging, although I knew that they loved each other since middle school. After losing his Mother, the kind and pure hearted Kou was lost in pain. That resulted him to change and confusing himself with the idea that “Caring for someone will be troublesome”. Because he was afraid to feel that pain over again. Maybe that’s the reason he shut off everyone around him even the few people he loved and became oblivious. But I loved Futaba the most because she sticked with Kou until the very end, she loved him wholeheartedly throughout the journey of healing. Despite not understanding at all of how painful it was like for him. She did still cried with him, followed him, embraced him, cared for him and think of him always. What’s lost cannot be replaced. A hole in the heart cannot be patched up by one person, but it could be mended little by little by the people around. Futaba’s unconditional love helped Kou from drowning in pain by feeding him the sense of realization but it was everyone’s loved that saved him. The romantic scenes in this anime is is the best for me, very iconic. I wished there is a season 2 because in the manga there were alot of more romantic scenes that made me giggled 🤭.
