OMG this took so long to make. I swear I don't know how raw editors deal with this. This is also an appreciation for raw editors because so many people have been complaining that not many editors don't watch or edit raw anymore. Let's prove them wrong:)
Anyways, I made this amv because its something that I can relate to and want to share to everyone. To give love another chance. Doesn't have to be the person you like, it can be your family, friends and etc.

You should look up Black Prince and Wolf Girl if you haven't already. Get an eye full of Kyouya. I thought he looked similar to kou towards the end of the manga. The manga adds SO much more than the anime. It goes way further than Ao Haru Ride did too. The characters SO much development it's almost scary (out of the 100+ manga/anime I've seen). I cried at the end with the graduation (mostly because it connected to one of my own real life experiences). It is one of my favorites tbh.

I remember watching this amv when I was 10 and falling in love with the song, I watched the anime when I was 15 and read the manga when I was 17. birdy + ao haru ride truly is a perfect combo, listen to her songs while you read the manga. I find myself coming back to this amv every few months and it's crazy how emotional I still get over it

This needs a second season so bad! I mean, the manga sales skyrocketed after this came out, so you'd think they'd have enough money/popularity to continue, but no, instead we get a few more hundred episodes of Bleach or some other anime like that that is entirely filler. Seriously we would just need about 15 more episodes of this and we would at least get to their first kiss. But this would need at least more like 30 or so episodes to finish, but they could cut it down where necessary.

DragonRebelRose Guys if you read the manga you would seriously be satisfied and won't be wanting another season of the anime. The manga is so perfect and It made me dislike the anime a bit. Trust me don't be lazy and read the manga. You won't regret it. Plus the art in the manga will give you shivers I'm telling you.
I *did* read the manga and it's my favorite manga of all time too, and yes the art is great, but sometimes you just want to see how it would play out in anime form sometimes. However, I also think they didn't do the greatest with the anime too, it was pretty standard but it was still sweet and it's what got me into the manga.

When I was in middle school, I had something like 15 friends (one of them is my best friend, she still is). This year I started high school, with a new class, and I didn't know nobody there because all of my friends were in other classes. I found some friends (girls, I'm a girl too), but they left me because I was friends with some boys. I found one boy who was quiet and had no friends, we started talking and became friends. He wasn't so quiet as I thought ^-^ I fell in love with him and I thought it will last forever, but then he commited suicide.

Ao Haru Ride. And here I'm again. More than 6 years later of having watched it & this amv. I can never forget this anime even if I wanted to. What is it exactly about this anime & this song which I can never forget is something I haven't been able to find out yet. All I know is that every time I listen to this song by Birdy my mind automatically goes back to Ao Haru Ride & the July of 2017 when I watched it. Probably because it was the last time i felt happiness in it's entire purity. Probably because the story of Futaba & Kou touched my soul. Probably because a story like them is what I've always wished for for myself as well. Probably because even after all these years what I truly desire hasn't changed yet at all. Love. True love. Deep love. Pure love. Soulmate love. Love... Pure & genuine love... And I think back to all the people I've tried to love & failed because there was no reciprocation. When the same thing keeps happening to you again & again you start feeling like maybe it's not for you. The truth being told I've tried to tell myself that as well. I genuinely even gave it my best too. But my best was ripping me apart every time I said it to myself. And here I'm again. Back to square one. Wishing for the same thing once again. I remember very clearly... Romantic love has always been one of the best feelings I felt as a child. When I saw characters on tv fall in love, it felt special. Slowly it became the thing I desired for the most. But I guess what you desire the most is what life makes sure to give you the hardest time with? I don't know... All I know is that every time i listen to this song I think back to this amv & all i feel is a huge vaccum at the place where my heart should be....

Back in middle school, I was generally well liked by guys, and I didn't really have friends that were girls. I was always excluded. I was bullied by the girls in my grade. I was called anorexic, and i wasn't. I was just slim, I wasn't that skinny. Then I transferred and ate alot. I am now heavier obviously, and I have friends, but this one guy I liked back in middle school he was popular. I transferred without telling anyone, then one year later, my first day of high school I see him. The school I transferred wasn't well known or public. I didn't tell anyone of my new school. How did he...? We don't talk, but a few days after I found out he liked me. We weren't even friends, we rarely talked. This all happened before I ever saw this anime. I really sympathize with futaba. I ate allot to be unattractive and be liked by the other girls. We are now classmates, I don't like him any more, but I see him as my silent friend. I just wish he would stop seeing me in my worst moments. It's so embarrassing. 😝 I am currently trying to loose all the weight I gained through sports, and a good serving size of food. 😆

Good luck. I kind of understand what you mean. I moved and changed schools and lost all of my friends and at the new school I was called clingy and annoying (I was trying to make friends - _ - ). I was pretty hurt by some of it though. I ended up being friends with almost only guys (I'm a girl). Then as time went on lots of other depressing things happened, then I made new friends and got a bff (that I have to this day). Lots of extremely fun things happened and I never wanted to lose my friends again because these people meant more than anything in the world to me. But then... High school came... and we all went to different ones... I only have 2 friends now. One is my best friend. They were the only ones who went to my HS. And making friends in high shool is very difficult since everyone has their little groups and stuff. Not to mention that every time I had changed schools I never saw my crushes again. Although that's not important anymore... I still understand you somewhat ( ^ -- ^)'

I read this manga for 3 years. I think i learn so much from it that it become my favourite of all times. I cry so many times reading it and watching the anime, when i was sad i always watched the first episode.

I have never been more attracted to an anime character as much as I am to Kou. Kaji Yuki really did a great job potraying him. His voice is heavenly and I really wished they made a second season
Yo the manga was so dramatic I couldn’t stop reading during the last few chapters because I couldn’t sleep and be happy with how it went down. I actually thought there wasn’t going to be a happy end for Kou and Fubata so I was on the burst of crying but in the end I was relieved. Right at the end when she woke up in her room with her friends and she said "was everything just a dream" I nearly had a heart attack lmao

Really love this amv! Yet to watch the anime but I really want to. It brings back memories of how I was in high school I kept to myself I would put on a big smile and be happy around others but really I was so depressed and broken inside anytime a girl got close to my feeling I would just push her away yet be there for her whenever she needed not much has changed. Really can't wait to watch this

This AMV always takes me back to the July of 2017 when I watched Ao Haru Ride for the first time. I had thought I'd re-watch it a few more times but 3 yrs have passed since n I haven't re-watched it a single time yet. I wonder what's stopping me? Maybe it's a hidden feeling that I might lose all those feels I got when I watched it the first time. Our first times are always special. After all they have a special place in our hearts n in our lives. I still remember it as clearly as yesterday.
I've already said this a few times in other comment sections of lofi music n anime, but I always miss 2017. I really do... Especially lately, I've been missing it a lot. The same old cliché, I wish I could turn back time just once n relive that year. But then again I'm so afraid I might lose all that that makes that year so special. I'd lose all those spring nights I spent watching anime till late night cuz I had just discovered it, n all those autumn mornings I spent listening to lofi music n day dreaming. I'd lose those 3-4 days of July when I watched Ao Haru Ride. I'd lose how special it is to me. Maybe that's why I haven't re-watched it yet? Whatever the reason might be, I love this anime n this amv a lot n I love this song. Wow. I didn't see the anime, but this was amazing. It made me feel and I wanted to cry. You've got such a great talent.
I love the relationship, I love the message, but I don't exactly love Kou. It's probably an unpopular opinion, but I find him really reckless and unfair. Especially in the manga, when he constantly rejects Futaba, but then gets all jealous when she gets a boyfriend. Look, I don't hate him per se, I just dislike his whole "I don't want her, but no one else can have her" attitude.
I'm sort of on the other side of the crowd, I see a lot of people saying they relate to Futaba, but I see myself a lot more in Kou, me and him share those habits, the possessiveness that's scared to let people go and turn their attention on others, but also the inner voice that won't allow us to let them too close either. I'm honestly glad you don't find him desirable, it's not a trait that should be, it sort of goes hand in hand with the saying that one has to be in a good place to be in a healthy lasting relationship, and that mindset and way of doing things display the opposite of just that, and is something that must be worked on first, because it really isn't fair to the other person. All in all, good for you.
I wouldn’t say he constantly rejected her, he only really rejected her the one time she confessed. He’s always made sure that she knew he was into her. Although, he did play with her feelings a lot which was irritating. He’s always been jealous of any guy that tried talking to her, even before touma. I do understand why he rejected her at first bc of narumi, he knew how it felt to have nobody so he felt like he needed to be by her side because he’s been through it before. It was probably hard for him to tell narumi he couldn’t be with her anymore, bc she was the only person he had left. It’s understandable that she felt the way she did. He never failed to show interest in futaba at all, he was always affectionate to her and was pretty straightforward that he liked her.
If I remember it correctly he rejected her once and that was for her own sake bc he knew supporting Narumi while being with her would only make her suffer. He was also manipulated by Narumi through mutual trauma and felt responsible for her loss, she pushed him right back into misery.
