I’m not understanding why alliance wouldn’t just fight for their poi seeing as how that’s what every other team does when someone contests their drop spot. Instead they just right to greifing
Given the option alliance would land Lrod anyway and DSG have already proven they are simply a better off spawn team to alliance plus it’s probably a little bit of protest from alliance

Their main POis were claimed by TSM and DSG, and double contest guarantees they are going to have a very hard time when LAN comes, so they are flex dropping instead. Northpad and Thermal isn't were they might be landing anyways, making it not worth to just contest for it at 200 ping, so they decided to do whatever instead.
Also, Hakis already had said a week ago that that's what they would do if they find themselves in this situation.
Alliance are fighting for their poi. This is their only way basically playing on high ping to have a chance at making their contest drop their spots.

Ok buddy, TSM would never do this though. Like, TSM, DZ, and only a few other teams actually play as if it is Lan unless the game is already a killfest beyond repair. They keep the game as realistic as possible but no you want to be other hate train rider like everyone else just because Hal is competitive and uses 'foul' language.
You're also making up a hypothetic scenario and then concluding it with TSM fans = hypocrites. Like. show us one example where Hal has done what he hates in a realistic scrim or ALGS game.

I get that the contests were a problem for TSM today but honestly contests are to be expected. Most of them were also by a C tiered team at best. I think the biggest impact on TSM’s day was not having Jordan. They’re just not the winning dominating team without the complete synergistic trifecta. They never do that well when they don’t have Jordan to watch their backs and take care of loose ends.
It’s not about the contesting. It’s about the targeted griefing. Can’t expect that as an actual outcome unless it’s LAN and they’re on match point

All can't really do that because of the ping issue. This gives them a chance to make their voice heard so something can be actually done about it. Just trying to contest dsg in scrims won't give them any practice and it's highly unlikely they'll be able to force them out when they're playing on high ping. And where to get most attention other than griefing the most followed team in the algs.
Atleast this gives alliance a chance for a change.

I don't see anything wrong with this at all, it's a BATTLE ROYALE game, it's about surviving, unpredictability, different play-styles and adapting, as soon as the players get out of the drop-ship it's every team for themselves until there's one team left
Alliance weren’t playing to win or survive tho. Griefing is fine but they threw a fit in a professional scrim. You’re essentially comparing normal ranked to professional games

ok but this is a LAN scrim. LAN. No one is 3rd partying a fight off drop. It's not competitive, it's ego and unsportsmanlike. Every single time a team does something dumb like this is another practice match ruined for everyone.
Contesting alone is fine if you want to take over a POI before a tournament but to 3rd party a contest is brain damage.

It's important to realise it' because the change happens so late.
All their previous practice and plans are basically "gone with the wind" because now they have to change their comp to play from behind in a contest. And all their time spent theory crafting and practice basically amounts to nothing with this change.
Other teams contested have already practiced and prepared for that accordingly. It makes a huge difference knowing for weeks/ months if you're contested on drop or not. Making plans for this or fighting dsg for the poi's at this time is too late to make a difference.
I hate when these teams get a little bit of confidence and the first thing they think of is “let’s challenge the best team in the world who has been challenged by multiple top team and those teams were NEVER the same again.”

@@downplay2146 MEAT, KCP (Gnaske’s old team), Vexxed (Matafe old team who was one of the best in EU at the time), BBB (old team with Dezign, Zachmazer, and Chaotic). All of these teams got disbanded a couple weeks after the contest

I kind of get the impression what these teams really want is for the results to be drawn up beforehand so they don’t have to bother actually playing to win.
Every other game/sport in the world fills the spots if a team/player drops out. You can’t throw a tantrum just because it happens to affect you. Would you be upset if the 20th/21st place in qualifiers happened to be the other way round?
That being said TSM shouldn’t complain either, if there are no rules against it then it’s all fair.

Because if you open your eyes, you can see they are on 180+ ms, which means a 50/50 contest is not 50/50, they will never launch of the ship first, pick the gun first. start shooting first. TSM was playing with a sub and was also contested. You kinda take those chances if you are Alliance, much better chance than trying to "50/50" DSG and also brings more attention to the whole situation which was not caused by them initially.

They are intentionally landing on a team with no intention to take over their POI or gain any practice from a 3v3. It's unsportsmanlike to do this right before a Lan imo. They also landed on TSM while they were contesting and ruined both team's game instead of just letting one team win and play on as usual after a contest.

@@FuelzH Because they are wasting their time. No one in their right mind would ever contest another team at Lan. It is highly risky and will be very quick to prove that teams decisions wrong. This happened in scrims. if you are practicing something you will never use in a real tournament game, you are wasting your own time and other teams time. If they want to practice, do so when they have Reps playing (and not Knoqd as a sub) and when TSM are landing alone.
Also, TSM has gone through countless of contests and have always came out on top. So to contest a top 2 team right before Lan is simply trolling. They would need weeks to perfect contesting to have confidence and practice before the real games begin.

You realize that when you’re 1v1ing a team and there is any other team in the area, chances are they are either going to clean up one team at least or clean up both teams every time. You have zero time to reset or loot.
