For those who don't want to listen through 17 minutes:
XSET dropped the team and Noc, Fun, and Hodsic planned to look for new orgs while appearing to still be signed by XSET. They were not going to include Koy and they even asked him to keep silent on the matter, presumably so they don't look orgless and desperate.
Koy waits about a month, but then tweets this update so he can find a new spot. This negatively affects the leverage of the other group because now everyone knows that they aren't currently stable, causing them to negotiate from lower ground. However, by remaining silent, Koy potentially misses out on opportunities. What if another free agent takes a spot that Koy could have gotten?
I'm shocked that Noc would even ask him to do this but I'm not shocked at all that Noc feels like he's being unfairly treated here. He inexplicably views this tweet as Koy trying to make himself look better than everyone else, which makes no sense. At best, Koy could have just said he was LFO and left out the rest of XSET getting dropped. But as it turns out, a terminated employee doesn't owe you his silence.
And, by the way, Noc spills the beans on XSET leaving esports entirely. So now Noc screwed over all the other teams signed to XSET but I guess it's only bad when Koy does it.
I completely agree lol, he’s being fucked over by keeping quiet about their negotiations that he’s not even involved in, makes no sense. I would have tweeted this earlier.

I should add that while Koy could have also looked for teams in a more discreet manner, it might not have mattered. I don't work in esports but it's not uncommon for a secret on the magnitude of xset pulling out of all esports to leak. People LOVE spilling juicy gossip. Many of the orgs they planned to talk to may have already known xset was pulling out or at least heard it was imminent.

They excluded Koy from their plan to find a new organization, informed him about it, and asked him not to announce it until after they all find a new organization or team, leaving him behind as a free agent. YEAH RIGHT lol.

There was no NDA, Koy was no longer on a roster, no longer receiving a paycheck...... no longer under any obligation to play pretend for XSET. Why should he not start looking for his next opportunity to continue competing? This all comes across as some gross levels of entitlement.

Koy's situation doesnt change whether he waits or not. Koy following the plan would have been courtesy to his former team and he would've been LFT either way

I like nocturnal and I was a fan of xset but he doesn't seem like he is built for this tbh. I think it would be better if he trusted his gut and retire. He should prioratize his mental health. It would suck to lose another top igl and mnk player though.
I Did not even hear about this....... Do what? Can't say I didn't see it coming though. And I honestly knew something was up all this time. Especially when sikez left because the same thing happened with gild and team liquid. This breaks my heart to hear but I understand completely. Game just isn't the same. koy should have definitely talked to the boys before tweeting that out if he knew they had plans. imo he should be announcing his free agency asap since he's good talent and it's not that realistic to keep koy away from offers - but he should have let them know behind the scenes first.

Basically koy got a free ticket to lan. So he knows once lan is over he will be orgless. So announce to everyone you are looking for a roster spot to fill and hopefully he preforms good and easily gets signed. Other hand old xset missed lan and will not be too high looked after so most likely would play a long while orgless.

Tbh I don't understand why Koy would want to leave this team. Essentially, what made xset take this step back to not even making lan is the character and meta changes, the team works so much better in the last meta that they probably would have been a contender to win lan. With the history of success Noc has it would be hard to find another team that has that same pedigree, there is less than a handful of teams that I would put over Noc as an igl.
I also don't get the Noc hate here, Koy didn't have to say xset was leaving apex lol. I get it from his perspective tho, he is at lan and wants to form connections in person like that, but at least let the team know you're gonna do this first instead of blindside them.
Koy most likely felt betrayed, he had offers from a good amount of different orgs, went to X-set and after one split they left and Noc and Fun and their coach didn’t have plans that included Koy, imo Koy probably felt he would do them dirty like he felt he was done

Im not understanding how Xset transferring only Fun and Noc to another org is a better look than them exterminating the roster in general. We’ve seen it before and from any angle, they left their team due to loss of investment. Sucks that Koy leaked this but I think they took Xset leaving too deeply and seriously. Either way they’re going to be judgement so why not just announce it like every team has
There plan was to find another 3rd then get transferred
So if XSET is leaving apex, as Koy announced without being allowed, that means that they're leaving anyways and the team will be dropped when contracts expire or earlier. That means that whatever negotiating leverage XSET has with orgs that that want to buy their team out, is gone. Why would the orgs buy out the team from XSET, if they could wait just a little bit to sign the team without paying XSET the buyout fee. Those transfer opportunities are gone, XSET misses out on the buyout fees and also looks bad because the news came out without them having any control over it, and noc/fun/hod are without a salary until they get picked up which seems unlikely to happen unless they get lock in a new third as a free agent team and do well in the next split of pro league.
Moral of the story is that XSET should've NDA'd their roster so that this wouldn't happen.

I used to pray for times like these. I didn't like Noct, while it sucks for the others like Fun and Koy, Noct's downfall is great to see. The way he acts higher than thou, the way he paints himself as the victim even before all this.

if you think you are tired from sitting at home working like 4 hours a day is tiring my guy go get a real job go do construction 9 hours a day and talk about tired i manage a entire building and do entire renovations on the side plus take care of my kids with their mom and then i gotta always walk and take care of my dog and the 68 other apartments i look after talk about BEING TIRED LOSER and no i dont work for 25 a hour i work for 8-10000 per unit i renovate plus my other job managing and cleaning the building fixing everything renting apartments doing all the maintenence alone so im making way more then this guy does even if he makes it to lan but hes tired man so tireddddddddddddd such hard work 🤣🤣🤣🤣 4 hour days vs 12 hour days and hes fkin tired

Nocs manager was working on a transfer. The leverage is "Noc is a top player on Xset, yall should buy him out. Have him join your org."
Now they have no leverage.
You get it now?
Xset players get bought out and then xset is like "ooooo no everyone snag our players. I guess we will just leave apex."
Xset looks chill.
Now the whole plan is washed.
For people who don’t understand the business side of esports let me help explain.
The Xset roster was looking to be transferred over instead of being fully dropped and orgless.
To save face for Xset, players, and the incoming org (if they found one). These plans were being discussed internally already.
So instead of these players being “fired” and “rehired” it would just be a transfer.
Koy speaking out on internal business ruined the entire possibility of a transfer process for the entire roster and forced the hand of Xset to announce the departure of Apex Legends.
If you look at the Xset social media posts comments and replies it’s all negative. Something they wanted to avoid.
Koy jumping the gun was 100% unnecessary because he has obviously been working behind the scenes on his own accord to secure more playing time with other rosters.
Just a bad business move on Koy’s part. That affects the livelihood of 4 other people.
They all got fired. There is no transition. Koy did nothing wrong. He's looking out for himself. Why would he look out for the guys that are about to ditch him on the next org.

Personally I feel like koy was one of the main reasons to why xset didn’t go to LAN koy is so overrated imo. Sucks to see Nocturnal be put in this situation.
he was unfortunately.. if you watched their POV, Koy was too aggressive, over-extended and would also counter call Noc. It doesn't help that the only professional experience Koy had prior to XSET was under Rkn, which pretty much was "give all the good attachments to Koy and let him frag out".

Koy made a tweet when he was not suppose to, despite making an agreement. Waiting 5 days wouldn't have hurt Koy, he's literally the most wanted player in NA, and he's got another chance to show off at LAN, but making the announcement has ruined noc's plans. Rightfully, Noc is annoyed. However, he understands that Koy is young so he's not mad, just annoyed at it.
Also in no way was Koy being fucked over at any point, he didn't seem to want to continue with them, if he did he never made it clear, so they stared taking steps.
