- So this is the HobbyZone Sport Cub S 2 from Horizon Hobby! It's an Ultra- Micro sized trainer that packs a lot of features into a very small, but great flying package!
The HobbyZone® Sport Cub S 2 makes learning to fly RC airplanes in more places and smaller spaces easier than ever! This makes the Sport Cub S 2 a natural evolution of the trainer many pilots learned to fly with because it includes all of the same great features, while also adding new telemetry capabilities that send flight battery voltage to the transmitter to make the pilot better aware of approximately how much "power" remains.

It's lightweight yet durable airframe is equipped with a powerful electric motor that delivers long flight times and provides plenty of speed and power to perform aerobatic maneuvers including loops, rolls and even inverted (upside down) flight. Dude I'm so glad you are back doing hatcam stuff...I've missed it bro! That is the best "inexpensive " way to get in to the hobby I TOTALLY agree. There are so many cheap options that are toy grade and a hot mess. That thing shows a new pilot experimenting with Do I or Don't I want to dive in to this hobby how good it is...rather than being a mess and leaving a bad first impression. Thanks my friend, I do too! With increased Gov't encroachment in the hobby, stupid-crazy prices, and really just the overall economic value and great flying quality of these little planes, it all makes sense! You can have twice as many of these in your collection as the larger planes, fly them in more places, yada, yada. Cheers my brother, hope all is well with you!

Sweeeeeet video about the Sport Cub micro. I wasn't flying planes for a couple years, Heli's only (MISSED PLANES BAD). So I got the S2 to relearn to fly fixed wing, LOL! Now I still fly it for fun, with 2" Dubro Super light wheels!

Glad to hear you got one! BUT, yeah, she's definitely a calm wind plane for sure. I'd wait for a nice morning or late evening with no wind. You'll love it!
My brushed motor was shot after several flights so I rather than buying a new motor I replaced everything with 2S brushless motor, receiver, and battery. It's now 19 grams heaver and a lot more power. Because of the extra power and more weight it will fly better on a breezy day. Wish these people would quit with the brushed motors altogether.
I hear you Jack about the brushed motors. I've actually never had a problem with them, and have several models still flying on them. That said, the 2s power system in the UMX Carbon Cub and others is a great system! All the best my friend and thanks for checking in!

Great video John, looks like a fun little flyabout. I can't remember why I never purchased one. It may have been because I liked flying the yellow HZ umx T-28S so much. Lots of stories with that one. Hey!!, do you have one?? ;-).
