      That's every new tv show, movie, comic summed up there beautifully Add some races to historic events that make no sense, make up fhat, blame the people who like TRUTH, and blame some guilt that hasn't happened to ANYONE in our lifetimes, for something that happened over a hundred years plus, also their entire culture over seas still push, practice and no one in the west talks about, and do this very day, and their you go. The only thing entertaining is watching these infighting and getting popcorn. Now it's only remakes of remakes lol. I hate wasting time on a story I already know what happens. Man to me people really have lowered the bar to accepting just complete rubbish shows and saying their not as bad as even more rubbish shows. So it's an ever lowering bar. Ironically, they aim the plots and premises at as wide an audience as they can imagine -- meaning they are mediocre as art and unfocused as a consumer item. As opposed to Andor, which is the amazing exception to this. I also think they assumed that their traditional fan base would follow them anywhere, so they could change what they are doing to add an entirely new fanbase -- "the power is female" and "the universe is diverse." Ironically, again, the actual people of color and women you know personally prefer the earlier stuff, because, well, it was better at what it does. Just like the rest of us who are probably male and also straight. People don't want to see themselves, they want to see good movies -- in this case, movies that are both escapist and contributing to a lore and canon.

    I used to watch A LOT of movies in theaters. For me that ended about 7 years agio. Hollywood now only makes uninteresting garbage, agenda driven nonsense, or never-ending prequels, sequels, reboots and remakes that NO ONE asked for. Years ago (and before the internet) i use to go to sci fi conventions. The studios then would actually send Hollywood producers to show clips from upcoming movies and would honestly want feedback from the audience. They would take that info back and tweak the films. The producer that I met and talked to several times was Harve Bennett. Now unfortunately, the last person the studios want feedback from is the consumer. They will force their DEI agenda down everyone's throats and condemn anyone who dare criticize their products. What's sad is that it's not hard to make a film that's enjoyable, doesn't cost a ton of money to produce and will make a nice profit. My Big Fat Greek Wedding had a budget of 5 million dollars and ended up delivering a 6150% return on its investment with a worldwide box office total of $368.7 million. More recent examples are Crazy Rich Asians ($30 million budget that made $238 million worldwide); Eveything Everywhere All At Once ($25 million budget that made $143 million worldwide); and Godzilla x Kong ($200 million budget that made $470 million worldwide).

They've also killed the toy and clothing related merchandise side of the business, and on top of that, they've allowed their so-called "Stars" to advocate for controversial positions and policies, while voicing opinions that are an affront to the majority of their potential audience. The other issue here is they’re banking on the fact that it took about 20+ years for everyone to actually enjoy the prequels. So I think we’re in this for the next 20 years before they admit they fucked it up. The prequels had good story I think delivery fell short sometimes and that’s what lost some people. However, I think over time we learned the meaning behind certain scenes and we forgave it because the story was just that good. I don’t see that here and I know a lot of fans who left because of this. With the prequels the fans didn’t leave.

Thats the whole point of fairytale - to show difference between good and evil - SW is a fairytale in space, so they made it pointless. Also fairytale should not be sexualized at all and sex orientation is most important to creator. This is a fact. I have been saying for awhile that Inside OUt 2 while having Anxiety as a character, might still get a pass, then they released that awful, disgusting final trailer. Do NOT show people things that make them NOT want to watch your movie, that is the opposite of how a trailer is supposed to work.
    Lastly, I had hope for Zootoia 2 but the fact that Clawhauser, who is a problem character, is featured prominently in the replacement for Its Tough to Be a Bug, that indicates the character will probably be big in the sequel,.
    And honestly, if they can't do Inside OUt right, then them doingZootoia right seems unlikely too. Especially under Jennifer Lee.

    Hollywood’s been shortening windows since before streaming and it’s because of the marketing costs. There’s an incentive to move a film out of theaters more quickly because they’re counting on an echo of it still being in people’s minds. They don’t want to extend windows because then when it shifts to VOD or streaming you have to spend a ton of money all over again to get people to think about watching it. A lot of what has messed up Hollywood can be blamed on how expensive it is to promote it today vs. 30 years ago. The move to streaming and the activist bent have only exacerbated problems they had already caused.

      The listed budget is $60 million. Assuming 2.5 times for marketing costs, that's $150 million. The listed box office take is $159.2 mil listed on WIki. So without theater take, it isn't profitable for the seven production companies yet, I guess.

    • @SBaby
      @SBaby 21 день тому +1

      @@SamtheBravesFan It effectively began production somewhere between 2020 and 2021. So we'll say it was a four year production time.
      So, $60m plus $50m for marketing, that's $110m.
      Now let's get our baseline by looking at the stock market. The average RoI from 2020 to 2024 was 14.5 percent. So now we do some math with the $60m.
      Over the time from 2020 to 2024, the $60m becomes about $103m. So that plus the $50m for marketing would equate to $153m.
      So it's barely profitable and it's the #1 movie, and it's been out for awhile. If the production time was longer than this, then the cost would be higher because the baseline would be higher. So if the number of years is anything more than what I listed here, then they're still below breaking even.
