These D&D figures are absolutely gorgeous and very underrated. Near perfection. Can’t wait to get the rest. Hope they do them all.
The only figures I had back in the 80s from this line were the creatures HOOK HORROR and DRAGONNE (sp?) I used them as minions for Beast Man in my vintage MOTU collection. I passed on the D&D cartoon figures due to the qc issues, but I will definitely be picking up this line. Great review as always, Bill.
Thank you Adrion!
NECA is killing it with this line and the TMNT Mirage line! Can't forget the Gargoyle Ultimates line also! The quality of materials, paints, and accessories is top notch!
Don't tempt me.
@DorkLair You don't have the Gargoyles Ultimates figures yet?!?!
I'm definitely getting all of the D&D line because it's all so nostalgic for me and the figures are amazing. I do wish the elbows were double jointed however.
He's so detailed that you can feel the weight of his armor. I'm impressed with the way his helm meets his eyes neatly. I have Grimsword and Warduke. Can't wait to add Strongheart.
Excellent Review Good Sir!
Oh My Oh My, this figure delivers.
He looks like the quintessential ‘Knight In Shining Armor’.
Warduke has such a villainous look & Strongheart looks so heroic, makes for perfect rivals.
NECA doing so well on these D&D dudes ;)
When I preordered I didn't even notice the wired cape. Very cool
For sure wired capes make a big difference.
Your last 2 reviews just cost me a bit of $ today.....thanks! Wasn't aware these were coming out soon.
Mike Lindell, knight of the realm and master of pillows.
Hahahaha! It does sort of look like that fool LMAO.
My wife saw the resemblance as soon as she looked at the figure LOL
Looks awesome, I can’t wait for mine to arrive.
They did a great job!
Nice review. Looking forward to your take on Zarak. Really like the painted artwork on the boxes as well. Got my set yesterday. Can't wait to see who is coming out with Elkhorn next! Hopefully Mercion or Peralay to even out Good VS Evil.
Thank you!
I really love the Warduke. This one looks just as good. I’ll be picking this up for sure
Don't leave out the Gargoyles too.. The Dungeons and dragons line is a must have.
Great review. I think they’re doing a really good job on this line - and I wasn’t intending to get it but I keep getting them.
Haha. That's where I am with the Mirage TMNT line.
You make this figure look INCREDIBLE. Cape looks gorgeous as well - too bad the wire isn’t more sturdy. Either way - I’m all pumped up to hunt for these now!
This is awesome Bill, thanks for the review!!!!
Dope figure! No any figure on hasbro can compete on the Neca D&D line
I totally agree.
I love my Warduke and Grimsword!! posed up they fit right in with my Mythic Legions! I think I will be getting this guy if I see him on the shelves
Between MOTU and Mythic Legions, I am swimming in fantasy characters. This line, however, takes me back to the time I had the LJN figures along with the Fortress of Fangs playset, so I had to get Warduke and I have to get this guy. I hope NECA does Northlord soon.
Wow, these look pretty incredible. They're a little on the large side, but overall they look great. I was on the fence on these but if I can find room I might pick these NECA figs up.
His sculpt and paint are incredible, but man, his shoulders sit so low. His arms are coming directly out of the sides of his chest. Without the armor, he would look really strange.
Very true, and I think that's also part of the reason for the arms not hanging naturally, they should be more up and out.
Awesome man cool to see.him be for my pre order comes in stock ,now I'm glad I did order him and the little green dude awesome info thanks mr.dork aka bill lol
Anytime I buy a DND figure I take it apart and try to figure out what parts I could use on legions😑. Oh I didn’t own any of these either as a kid but a friend had a ton of them.
Bill, he is excellent aesthetically. I get the D&D feels on this line. The limited shoulder articulation is a bummer. Neca can put out some of the best work out there although there is no standard buck so each line can vary. Champion review ✌️
I love his accessories. It's a tightrope walk trying to get details on top of articulation. NECA seems to have nailed it.
So this was really my first Neca besides Alf and I have to say I wasn’t super impressed with the proportions or the articulation. I did like your tips on hanging the hammer and putting the shield on. One bicep was fine and the other was locked up like you said.
great review
Huh. I think I’m passing on this guy, but while I gotta admit that I was never into his classic design, NECA kicked ass on this redesign. I like the modern take on helmet, and that face sculpt is excellent. Thanks for the solid look at this fig. ✌🏾➕✊🏾
Nice figure, clos in terms of looks to the original. I hope they paid Tom Sellek for stealing his face, though.
Where did you get this figure from?
nerdzoic.com
Stop talking me into other lines. Lol
Yeah the proportions are a bit weird on him. Lower legs aren't supposed to be that long but they are very short on him. I also kinda dislike the design, it's more superhero knight than actual medieval knight.
Also, I don't understand why they kept the double jointed knees but took out the double jointed elbows. He doesn't need that much range in the knees! He needs it in the elbows! Plus no up and down wrist hinges.... very weird design. Warduke had some of these problems yet the design of the figure was just incredible, but I'm not really feeling this figure...
