ISO 31000:2018 - Scope, Context & Criteria (Clause 6.3)
When we truly understand the PURPOSE of the 'Scope, Context and Criteria' according to ISO 31000:2018, it enables a focussed consideration of the 'risk management context' and the customising of the risk assessment methodology.
The Scope Context and Criteria are fundamentals of risk management, and being able to articulate in simple terms what they mean, both individually and as a collective, helps demystify these lesser understood concepts.
As part of the risk management process, this is our 'bread and butter'.

As a Trade Union H&S Rep I really am impressed and in agreement with your deeper understanding of what approach and commitment is required from organisations that claim to be 'safety first' in everything they do, but are avoiding serious accidents more by good luck rather than through their efforts at good safety management.
