We are so lucky that Anne's diary survived so that the story could be told of the life and suffering that the victims of that cruel regime could really be known. The criminals should have all been executed there should have been no custodial sentences after the trials.
Hello Silberberg came to the Netherlands in 1939 to live with his grandparents his parents were in Belgium at the time and he was able to avoid prosecution and emigrated to the United States and changed his name to Ed Silverberg. He died in 2015

Some people think the diary is fake stating it wasn’t her that wrote it and that it’d been written in ballpoint pen which is not true.
