There's another person on here (UA-cam) that built one of these and he said that he had problems with this all the way through with fit and it seems that this is a tooling problem. That's sad because Monogram used to be a good quality model maker back in the day. I'm sorry that you had all those problems with this kit. I have had THREE of the MPC kits before they were owned by AMT later on and the 1:16 scale model is much better in terms of size, quality, fit., and finish. You should get one of those if you can score one for a decent price. Thank you for sharing this with the rest of us. It's nice to see others appreciate this car too!
Thank you Solaris I once tried to get my hand in one of those 1:16 MPC, but unfortunately it was sold before I could buy. Never seen them again. Nevr built a AMT kit, but heard very bad things about them
@@TMModelkits Oh, no!! These are great kits only you have to go to evilbay to get one. The Monogram ones are terribly ill fitting from what I've heard from people who have built one of them. I've never owned one but one guy here on UA-cam said that almost every part of the chrome especially had to be refit! That's too bad. This is a beautiful car. Thank you for your reply.

@@solarismoon3046 Will try that, thanks again Solaris
Beautiful finish, I have this kit and will make it a road kit without racing decals.
It has all the parts to make the road version.
