If it is a neutral grey it will take on the colors of the room and the light in it. The color looks green because of the paint color in the room in which it was prepped and the mix of blue window light and yellow-orange work lights. In spite if that, Team Phillipp! (Sorry Anna!)
DONT TOUCH IT! Leave it as it is. Its ok to NOT have everything matchy matchy! Its deep colour is within the same tonal family. Its a work of art and if it's a slightly different colour and it stands out then that's perfect! What an excellent job. this was so interesting, thank you both and congratulations on heaving that thing up the stairs. 😉👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👍
Great job on refinishing the tub. Move the tub into the master bathroom before making the final decision on the color. Observe the tub over several days in the different daylight that comes in the windows, and at night under the bathroom lights. Remember Phillip, Happy Wife! Happy Life!
Perfectly sensible comment David. All options should be explored before making a final decision. Light will play an important part on the mood and aesthetic you wish to create.
Phillip should get his choice once-in-awhile and this is a good one for him to have that! Plus, I thought the fire plate he brought out was a good color for the floor tiles!
Would prefer black black especially with the fixtures you have chosen. Great job on the tub. Can’t believe you got it up the stairs just the two of you. Bravo 👏 🎉😍😘
Definitely Team Anna for this one. At least on my monitor, the tub is a dark blue-grey, which coordinates really well with the other paint colors in your suite.
I was on the fence, but I have to vote for Team Anna because Team Philipp tried to subliminally influence my vote. It looks great as is, no further color change seems necessary. I love what you've done with the chateau over the past couple years, and hope that you bring back the guests when you're finished with the main house.
Very impressed that just the two of you managed to get that cast Iron tub up the stairs without extra help and you did a beautiful renovation Philipp. The black and shining white looks excellent together. I loved the opening view of the garden, it looked classy and very elegant. I always enjoy how clean and tidy you are regarding clearing up, to me, that is special. 🏵Well done to you both. 🏵
Well done! It looks beautiful! Lovely honest portrayal of the previous time, and marriage in general. Your high five with wedding rings on was just perfect.
Grey is a base coat. Grey is what people paint rooms when they want to sell their house so the buyers can imagine their own colours. Black is elegance!
Team Phillip🖤. I'd also paint the feet to match the fixtures in the bathroom i.e. chrome, brass, or whatever you went with, but that's me. It looks beautiful no matter what color you decide.😍
Just as Forest Gump says “ both can be happening at the same time”. Both colours are sophisticated and beautiful. Not a contest but a matter of convenience. The experience of the bath in your exquisite renovation will soothe away any shades of darkness.❤️
TEAM: Phillip!! Matte black has been my new obsession for a few years now and I’m never going back, I love it so much. It’s completely timeless….and cast iron and pewter are my favorite metal types because I adore the textural feel of it and the substantial, utilitarian, historical look. I combine them with black limestone and black granite (that’s been leathered) and it makes me the happiest camper ever!! I hope it does you too.
Team Anna ! 🌻🌻
Beautiful! Phillip did an amazing job! I agree with Phillip, I prefer true black for the tub. I am guessing that Anna is a Virgo. My mom who is a Virgo, always says that if you want to have a job done right you should have a Virgo to do it. 😊
Sorry Phillip I’m definitely Team Anna. I really like the grey/black. And I think with the tiles you have in the bathroom it will look great. If you had very shiny pure black and white tiles, I’d go a proper black, but as you don’t, I really like this grey/black
Well done! So impressive that you two got the tub upstairs by yourselves with no issues or injuries. I can go either way on the color. Congratulations, Philipp on the refinishing. It looks beautiful!
I have worked in many ways with colours in many years, … Anna’s choices of colour are always excellent. For this particular project, I agree that black is elegant, classic, chic, etc but when you imagine this bath tub in its final setting black will be a heavy and bold colour that won’t easily blend with other things around it. In this project greyish colours are better! They seem neutral and easily match the setting without disturbing the harmony.
Agree. This whole chateau is soft and feminine. The dark gray is a slightly softer hue than black. More complimentary to the subtle femininity. Black-black would be traditional but too strong.
I like it as is. The gray black is more subtle especially beside the muted colour of the room. Magnificent job. I wondered where you would get the appropriate plumbing when you were removing the old.
Team Anna! I think the greyish black colour is beautiful and in line with the chateau overall palette. But good job, Phillip!! This diy turned out perfectly.
I believe the grey-black of the bathtub is called "charcoal". Also Philip, I have to side with Anna on the charcoal paint, for one simple reason: in most lights it looks black anyway but unlike black, it won't constantly attract a layer of dust. Charcoal is a bit kinder on the cleaning/cleanliness angle. I should know - we have a black-only furniture scheme (with wood) on one side of our home and we appreciate the obviousness of the dust gathered and attracted on our furniture as it forces us to clean it more. Not something you want to think about in a bathroom 😉
Well done on a great restoration job, it looks fantastic. I probably would have said grey, but I don't know why I have a very strong urge to go with Team Philip on this one. Puzzling. 😇🤫
Team Anna, the Lamp Black is softer and more elegant, you have the darkness without the starkness. It also fits well with the blue walls in the suite. Black will be a short lived fashion, a charcoal grey is more classic, in keeping with the style of the rest of the chateau, a beautiful blend of classic and contemporary xx
Team Phillip on this one. Black would be so much more elegant
I can’t believe that I’m going with Team Phillip. I think the matte black will give the tub a classic feel.
Maybe black will be a better match with black and white floor tile. Team Phillip
🤔
If it is a neutral grey it will take on the colors of the room and the light in it. The color looks green because of the paint color in the room in which it was prepped and the mix of blue window light and yellow-orange work lights.
In spite if that, Team Phillipp! (Sorry Anna!)
Definitely black!
I like black.
But, it's obviously their bathroom.
Black to go with the tile and different color feet!😊
The quick “Team Phillip” flashing on the screen was so sneaky 😂
I also loved the in-stinks too 😂😂😂😂
The subliminal Team Phillip message 😂
Yep! No doubt that's why Team Phillip got so many votes!! 😂🤣😉
I usually always go with Anna. But, for the first time have to agree with Philip to go with black black.
DONT TOUCH IT! Leave it as it is. Its ok to NOT have everything matchy matchy! Its deep colour is within the same tonal family. BLACK BLACK! Grey is fashionable now and on its way out of fashion. Black never goes out of fashion.
Another vote for Team Phillip! I vote Black Black!
Shout out to you both for getting the tub upstairs without any casualties. It turned out amazing, well done!
I like black on the outside and white on the inside!
I was thinking if Philip slips Anna's dead for sure ❤
@@Kerrie-AnneBruce I was so nervous watching. I think that was dangerous but it turned out well 😂!
Me too what a task! They are Heavy!!!!
Since it is technically a black and a less hard one, which will make the room feel more cozy, I'm Team Anna!
Black. I’ve seen a cast iron bath painted black and it really stood out. Remember the bath is a feature and needs that visual pop.
Black is definitely more classy and elegant, especially for a beautiful chateau. But then, I don't have to live with it. Great job, Phillip!!
Mat black since you have black and white tiles on the bathroom floor.
Definitely black black. It's much more elegant in my opinion. The restoration looks great though, well done!
Wow! Phillip that bath looks stunning. You've done an amazing job 👏👍👌
Great job on refinishing the tub.
Move the tub into the master bathroom before making the final decision on the color. Observe the tub over several days in the different daylight that comes in the windows, and at night under the bathroom lights.

Team Philip on this one. I think the matte black will be stunning with the floors. 👍
I think the lamp black looks beautiful! My vote is to keep the color as is.
Definitely black. It would be classier looking!
Team Phillip for this one 🙂🇨🇦
Philip’s choice of black gets my vote!👋😊🇨🇦
Team Philip, everything is greenish
I think I am Team Philipp this time. The black would look better and seemingly more fitting in my imagination
From what I can see ... Team Philipp. More imposing. Decider will be when it's in the bathroom.
Lamp black contrasts beautifully with the wall colour! it's gorgeous
I think the gray is good and agree that the walls are reflecting on it.
Team Philipp on this one Black!!
Team Philip and matte black for the win! The dark grey doesn’t pop enough.
Would prefer black black especially with the fixtures you have chosen. Great job on the tub. Can’t believe you got it up the stairs just the two of you. Bravo 👏 🎉😍😘
Team Philip! Black looks better!
Black for the tub 😊 your chateau is beautiful!
I think it’s the other way around, women strive for truth, men strive for power. 😁
I think the Lamp Black looks beautiful. I vote to keep the color.
Philip for the win on this.
I agree with Philip. Black would look better than that grey for the bottom of the tub.
I love the grey. I think Team Anna...again!!
Well done on the bathtub restoration Philip, it looks fab 😊
The grey black looks great.
Definitely Team Anna for this one. At least on my monitor, the tub is a dark blue-grey, which coordinates really well with the other paint colors in your suite.
I was impressed before with your DIY, but this Phillip takes the prize. WOW. You can really rock out your projects. 👊🏻👍🏻

Team Phillip on this one
Well done! It looks beautiful! Lovely honest portrayal of the previous time, and marriage in general. Your high five with wedding rings on was just perfect.
True black. Team Phillip. Of course, you could add a design in rust color over the black. 🙂
I think this colour is better, it's softer and warmer than black.
Grey is a base coat. Grey is what people paint rooms when they want to sell their house so the buyers can imagine their own colours. Black is elegance!
That's such a good point!
Touches of black against wood looks elegant. Black and white too.
older people paint white instead of dull gray it is harder to find white syoff as it still looks grayisih
😆
Team Phillip🖤. I'd also paint the feet to match the fixtures in the bathroom i.e. chrome, brass, or whatever you went with, but that's me. It looks beautiful no matter what color you decide.😍
I think black is a more practical color cause it would contrast better with any color. Looks fabulous!
Love the grey, whether there's a greenish cast or not -- Team Anna.
Phillip earned getting his way with the colour.
I think you are both wonderful….but girl….you taking that tub up those stairs was absolutely amazing!
Artful talent and strength….I am in awe!
flat black is my vote
It’s perfect now, please keep like this.
Just as Forest Gump says “ both can be happening at the same time”. Both colours are sophisticated and beautiful. Not a contest but a matter of convenience. The experience of the bath in your exquisite renovation will soothe away any shades of darkness.❤️

Initially I thought black would be best but the lamp black looks softer and really beautiful. Fabulous result👏👏👏👏
Anna wins it looks so classy. You should be so proud of yourselves.❤❤
The bathtub is gorgeous. Lamp black or dark black either would look nice.
Grey black is gorgeous!
I like the grey black

The bathtub looks beautiful! Don’t change a thing! I can’t wait to see it in the finished bathroom!
TEAM ANNA! The dark grey will compliment the black and white tiles.
I agree with some others - it should match the beautiful floor tiles. Team Phillip😊
Team Anna for the colour of the bath tub. Well done, Phillip.🤗🇨🇦
Beautiful! Phillip did an amazing job! I agree with Phillip, I prefer true black for the tub. I am guessing that Anna is a Virgo. My mom who is a Virgo, always says that if you want to have a job done right you should have a Virgo to do it. 😊
Hallelujah Virgos-I am too -love your comment!! 😃
It looks more blackish than grayish. Like a charcoal black. Looks great!
We LOVE THE GREY PAINT COLOR it's UNIQUE
Team Anna. Also, Phillip looks healthier. It looks like he is watching his diet and exercising. Keep up the good work!
Sorry Phillip I’m definitely Team Anna. I really like the grey/black. And I think with the tiles you have in the bathroom it will look great. If you had very shiny pure black and white tiles, I’d go a proper black, but as you don’t, I really like this grey/black
Definitely agree with Anna about the colour of the bathtub. Very sophisticated colour.

BLACK.. nice shiny black, looks more elegant in my opinion.

Lamp black for sure. Far more mellow, unusual and sophisticated
GREY !!!🤩
I love the color! I'm Team Anna!

I agree with you, I have black leather sofa and constant showing of dust. I also have some tables painted in black and same thing.
It looks good on camera
Black for sure
I like the grey but seeing it in the bathroom will definitely help you make the final decision.
Black all the way!
After all the very hard work, I think the grey actually looks excellent so I would favour leaving the grey. Mike
Grey Black makes it not so stark. It's softer to look at. ♥
Keep the grey but silver the feet. It’s a beautiful piece regardless of the color. Well done👏👏👏
Love the tub…I’m team Anna!
Love the grey black. Very elegant and stylish.
I am team Anna on bathtub, looks amazing already.
team philipp! black would look much more timeless and goes better with your tiles 🥰
Well done on a great restoration job, it looks fantastic. I probably would have said grey, but I don't know why I have a very strong urge to go with Team Philip on this one. Puzzling. 😇🤫
Great job Philip, I'm Team Phillip, I think it would pop being black
Sorry Anna, I’m with Philip definitely black it would go with the tiles better. 👌😊
Team Anna, dead black too cold! Lamp black is a good colour, has some soul!😂❤
Love the bath grey❤
I prefer black, too. It will go better with the black and white floor
Black I would do it 😊
Team Anna, the Lamp Black is softer and more elegant, you have the darkness without the starkness. It also fits well with the blue walls in the suite. Black will be a short lived fashion, a charcoal grey is more classic, in keeping with the style of the rest of the chateau, a beautiful blend of classic and contemporary xx
