How To Series 6: How to Chart the Amount of Batter for Each "Container" or Cookie Size

What's a Container in Chef Equation™? Really, it's the amount of batter to fill, or fulfill, a certain size of "something". A Container is any "something" that you fill up and we want to tell Chef Equation™ how many ounces it takes to fill that "something", that "Container". Examples?
A 6"x2" Cake Pan and the number of ounces to fill it to 2/3 full. Maybe you call it a Round Pan 6x2.
A 4"x4" rolled cookie and the number of ounces it takes to create that sized cookie.
The number of ounces of royal icing to flood a specific sized rolled cookie. Maybe you call that container "icing to cover 4" cookie".
The number of ounces to fill a treat bag with popcorn. Maybe you name them "half pound bag" "one pound bag".
The number of ounces to fill a cookie scoop size. In this exercise we named our container by the scoop size and the diameter.
The number of ounces, maybe icing or ganache drip" to cover a specific sized cake. Name the container to whatever makes the most sense to you.
How do I know how many ounces to enter when adding Containers to my Recipe Card? In this live recipe example, I scoop my dough just like I normally do for my baking days, and then I weigh that scoop of dough!
Enter your Container Names first, in the CONTAINER tab of Chef Equation™ (next to your Pantry).
Weigh the amount of batter to fill each container.
On the Recipe Card inside Chef Equation™, add each Container that you plan to use and add the amount of ounces that it takes to fill the container.
I always add a container called One Original Recipe Batch. That weight is the total weight of all the ingredient that makes up this recipe, and you'll find it totaled up for you at the bottom of the 2nd column of your recipe ingredients.
