ABOUT ST. DENIS MEDICAL
Devoted nurse Alex has just been promoted to Supervising Nurse in the emergency department at St. Denis Medical Center in Oregon. She works alongside an eclectic team of underfunded yet dedicated doctors, nurses, and hospital staff including her boss, Joyce, who wants nothing more than to turn the hospital into an international medical destination, and Dr. Ron, who’s done it all, seen it all and is pretty much over it all. They’re all doing their best not to lose their patience in a hospital overrun with patients - while caring for everyone who comes in the door, including each other.

My mom (who is Filipina) was a RN for 20 yrs and she loves this show - she was excited for this episode🤗💕
Sandra and Mateo reunited. 😊
Yes, it's the same producer of the superstore. Coincidentally I just started bingewatching superstore Yesterday, I'm halfway through season 2
s@@oluwaseunadefolarin7316 And Scrubs and the Office !
Same people different universe.
I’m gonna get peacock just for this show 🤣
Wait, was Rene saying let’s go out later to Val also a Mean Girls reference? It’s giving Regina George’s “We’re going shopping” 😂
Yes! He also called her Ate Val, and in Filipino, Ate (Aah-teh) is an honorific for an older sister, but it can also be used to address an older female friend, so it seems like Rene is quite fond of Val 😊
yeah “lakwatcha tayo mamaya” basically means “lets go out/hang out later”
I swear i changed my mind about this show. Eps 3 and 4 were hilarious
I haven't seen a funny medical show like this since Scrubs. I love the blend of humor and accuracy.
The producers did Scrubs and the Office so it does have the Office vibe as well 😂
I’m screaminGGggggg not Filipino being treated as a slur in nursing 💀
Had me literally laughing out loud at a tv show for the first time in a while. I think I have to watch this show. Also Rene's speaking tagalog here with a perfect accent was fantastic. Usually "Filipinos" speaking tagalog in a show or movie are barely understandable (often the white characters do better, probably because the actors are afraid of offending actual Filipinos).
This is what my nursing classmate said a few years ago when I was a student. We went to do our clinicals at a hospital filled with many Filipino nurses. He was like I want to join the Filipino Mafia. I was like what? And then I knew what he meant lol
Fun fact.. non-Filipino's can join the Filipino mafia.. lol..
Lots of Filipinos mafia in Southern California hospitals…you will get the worst assignments as a new employee…facts!!
I’ve been LOVING the show
It's true though, filipino mafia everywhere but instead of crime... it's gossiping!!!!!
literally every time i hear my big filipino family talk, it’s gonna be 100% gossip
That’s why hardly anyone is depressed 😄
dude filipinos dominate factories, construction sites, cruise ships, hotels and hospitals.
@@claireglory Say some in US navy! KItchen?
@@claireglory Big mafia in hospitals! The charge nurses do what the mafia tells them to do! No funny at all!
Hardworking filipino nurses
This show is also on NBC, which coincidentally is the network for The Voice (this show is actually shown after The Voice). Coincidentally, currently, the Voice's most viewed contestant and most talked about online (and even rated highest on the app) is surprisingly Filipino-American: Sophorino vasquez.. It's so cool to see such a highlight of Filipinos everywhere here in the USA! gogogo happy for you guys! It's the year of the Phinoys
i'm cacklingggggg this bit was too funny
I love this show!! ❤😂
The dude said, let's hang out later.
This is hilarious and it's just under 2 minutes!
Mateo and Sandra?? Yes🙏🔥
They went to nursing school after Cloud9 shut down. Haha.
Filipino pride😭❤️🇵🇭
You cute ma😂
🙄
Stap
lol
Enough with this exaggerated filipino pride! we filipino americans cringe over it..everytime philippines is used as a reference y'all think its like the second coming of jesus...philippines mentioned for .01 sec in a movie we start celebrating like its the new year😂
Allison's expressions 😂🥂
and yes The Filipino Mafia Exist in every healthcare setting
And they ARE good.
hospitals, hotels, factories, cruise ships, construction sites. filipinos dominate those places. there are filipinos in the upper and lower ranks.
Hope i can stream it here in the PH😅
Me too
Proud son of a Filipino Mafia Donna here. Can confirm it's true.
I used to work in healthcare and this is too real. It really does feel like I'm part of a little group when the filipino staff accidentally speak Tagalog to me 🥲😭
COME ON! we need more of Rene!
when I am busy at work my filipino mafia friend will help me pass my medications or do the treatment....love my ICU days
sandra and mateo from superstore! 🤣
"Uy! Ate Val, lakwatsa tayo mamaya ah!"
Trans: "Hey Val! let's hangout later"
Don't worry, if you get mistaken for a filipino and they like you. It doesn't matter, you're in.
Stick around and they'll teach you how to swear in filipino and be a "chismosa" (nosy/gossip monger)
I always thought that the Filipino Mafia was the US Navy.
I spent much of my childhood on military bases since my dad is retired US Navy while I am a nurse. The Filipino Mafia is definitely present in both.
yessir...and also USMC...Siempre Fidelis...rofl!
@@pierrefontecha
But that’s just Camp Pendleton. Right?
OMG! Ilove this show!
I honestly hate it when a group/team works really well and then management just does a shuffle for no apparent reason.... if it works it works don't mess with it.
Making my parents proud by joining the filipino (hospital) family. It is tradition.
yay filipino gang in medical!! awesome!
lol im guilty hanging out with my filipino crew 😅but i do chill with the other cultures too hahahah
Filipino Nurse checking in… this is indeed facts. Haha.
Val (Kaliko Kauahi) looks like 100% Filipino. If I see her. I will surely call her "Ate!!!! Kumusta"?
We want more #FilipinoMafia!!!
The Office , Parks and Rec, and now St. Denis.
Loved the office and PnR... not loving this... it has promise but needs better characters, or to define each character comedic presence better
From now on I will call our squad Filipino Mafia😊
That's we call our gals here at work. The thing is the Fili Mafia makes things run like clockwork. Without them we're in deep trouble.
Where to watch this?
Hell.
🤭🙌 it’s real!
First time seeing a Western medical show where I can relate 😂.
I hope the stars don't do stupid t-mobile commercials when they get old.
This is 100% true...never mess with Filipino nurses.dey will make you sapper like hell😂
Especially ones named jihad
He’s not wrong. Hospital does feel like high school. Everyone and their cliques to be honest.
My mother was a nurse and I’m waiting for the Jamaican mafia to appear 😂
More pinoy contents pls 😢
Okay just remember people
Never piss off Filipinos!!
To be fair, when I first saw Kaliko in Superstore, I thought she was a Filipina.
Lol. Filipino mafia 😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Filipino Mafia is real! Kaiser has so many of them. But let me tell you, even if you are Filipino, they can and will put you down if you get in their way! Better join the club or go else where. It does have good benefits though, they throw the most awesome potlucks! They feed everyone 😆.
Why so many Filipino nurses?
Why are there so many Filipino nurses in the U.S.? | Berkeley News
Kami ang batas!! 😅
The doctor at the background when he heard Filipino while being on the phones 😂
that was a good one....rofl
Yet all that they can give them is are supporting roles. Well I guess it's a step up from decades of Medical Dramas with absolute zero representation. Nico Santos should be made a permanent star.
1:12 “114…with the other whites” 😅😅
i laughed so hard.... 😂😂😂😂
I did my first 6 months of nursing in ICU & the Filipino mafia up there made my shifts a living hell ☠️☠️
WE CALL IT THE FILLIPINO MAFIA ALSO!!!!!🤣
“114 with the other whites” 😂
Lol this us funny
Why is there a whole episode as an ad? Stop being so annoying
Scrubs 2.0
I don't understand what she meant "I'm not Filipino, he just assumed and..."
I believe she’s Hawaiian.
So she only looks Filipino. She doesn’t want to correct him because it feels nice to be friends with them.
@Jose.AFT.Saddul got it. Thanks.
this is like a bad version of the Office/ Parks and Recreation or Modern Family, think the writers need to up their game. The show has some promise but too many of the characters are too similiar/vanila, it needs a Dwight Schrute, a Jim, Angela, toby etc. it needs more weirdness, its suppose to be a comedy. The hospital concept is a good idea with loads of comedic opportunities to explore, you can imagine The Office and Parks n Rec went on for 7-9 seasons just being in an office
Is this literally a scrubs parody
mga naligaw na marites 🤣
Slur hahaha😂
D E D. The Filipino Mafia.
Lets be honest, this is a bad copy of Scrubs. Wish is sad AF
I really don’t get this one. I was a big fan of Superstore, for the most part. And I even appreciated Americano Auto, though it had its problems. But I honestly haven’t actually laughed once through all episodes so far in this series. I was really looking forward to it, but it’s fallen so flat for me. Hopefully it finds its footing.
with the other whites LOL!!
Another crap show and NOT FUNNY
