      Beware of toxic fumes put out by the duct tape burning- allow for 15 minutes burn time before cooking over an open flame- cooking in a pot should however be perfectly fine.

    If you use a small ziplock or small black garbage bag, you can save duct making the tree limb end cup. Bag on end, then tape up. Bag is solid, no leaks, and duct provides the stiffness.
    Further options, wood frame work fish trap. Dollar Store $1 6' x 8' party cotton (gill) netting. Over 15+ uses multipurposing the net. Framework and netting for huge or multiple fish, crayfish, crab, lobster trap, fish weir, emergency arm sling, arm sling for holding/carrying sticks/tinder, DIY snowshoe foot netting, roycroft triangle wood backpack with netting ruck (and arm slings), bear hang netting, camp hang netting, multiple fold overs pole stretcher, multiple fold overs raised bed hammock netting, multiple fold over hammock under tree limb (or hanging hammock), tree limb hanging hammock pouch seat, ... multiple tree limb hanging fold over hammock netting (up in the tree), ....

    NOTICE: If you use duct tape as tender... Try not to cook anything over it since it will contain fumes from the glue and other materials that makes up duct tape. It could be toxic and leach chemicals into your food or hot water. Should be safe after a few hours of burning off that material or until the black smoke stops.

    I appreciate that you're trying to be creative, but the snare trap is impractical and wont work. Think about what you're actually doing, trapping a live wild animal. Anything you manage to catch will chew through that duct tape in about 5 seconds. It simply won't work. Also that tree is not a type you want to use for that trap. After being bent over for a couple hours pines and other soft woods lose their "spring back" property. So again, this will not work.

  • @woedzer
    @woedzer 8 років тому

    Good video, and good ideas of using tape. I just think that pate as "trap rope" is not very good idea, cause adhesives using on the tape are smelling very... Industrially, I think it will scare off the small animals, who have much better sense then people does. But the bucket from the tape is really worth the video. Thx.

  • @WarblesOnALot
    @WarblesOnALot 8 років тому

    G'day,
    Yay Team !
    I think the cleverest thing I ever made with a roll of Duct-Tape was an Aerodynamically-Balanced Bandage, to reattach a Patch of Sheet-Aluminium (the size of the Palm of my Hand...) which had been previously applied to the Skin on the Auxilliary Ventral Tail-Fin of the 2,500 Hp Turbo-Thrush Cropdusting/Aerial Firefighting Aircraft..., the last time it had landed on a Gravel Runway and thrown a Stone at it's own Tailfeathers...
    I was filling the Thrush with Water, at a Firefighting Airbase, while wearing an old Mobile Phone as a Headcamera, when I noticed the Hole in the Tailfin...; so if you want to see both the Hole in the Fin, and the Duct-Tape Patch I repaired it with, as well as the Firebomber taking off and landing after flying Operational Missions, and a Progress-Inspection on the Patch after it had flown it's first Sortie (involving cruising at 120 Knots and diving to 150 - 180 Kts on the Run-In, with missions running 30 to 45 minutes each..., that day)...
    To find the Videos of that, backtrack me to my "Personal Aeroplanology" Playlist, and scroll through to early 2014 (I think it was, but it might've been 2013)...; my Channel runs on a Mobile Phone, so I can't attach links to anything, but if you want to see the Duct Tape Patch that worked for at least 2 Hours & 4 Landings, in a 150 MPH Slipstream, on a 2,500 Hp Turboprop Firebomber..., then that's where to track it down.
    Last year the Civil Aviation Safety Authority notified me that they'd had a Freedom Of Information Access-Request concerning my letter to them telling them where to find my YT Video of the Aeroplane which was designed to throw rocks at itself with such precision that it could hit itself hard-enough to break itself, twice in the same spot...(!)....; so, technically, that was a rather famous bit of A.E.R.O. HILLBILLY Enterprises "Duct-Tape Engineering", even if I do say so m'self...
    Such is Life,
