    Definitely suggest using distilled water in the fogger. They're essentially a humidifier and you can quickly get a mineral build up that will effect how well they work. Additionally distilled water is super clean and will keep better/longer in the fogger without developing any bacteria issues. Definitely recommend still misting with a spring/r.o./treated tap water occasionally with a bottle though if you have live plants, they appreciate the minerals in the water!

    Reptile foggers are normal foggers with a hose attached to it... But they cost twice as much. Personally, I plugged a vacuum tube in a normal fogger and it just works the same

    I remember when the fogger first came out it only cost 20£ and i have 1 and its great for my veiled chameleons 3f(L) x 4f(H) x2f(W) enclosure its a really good product. The next review you should do should be on one of the exo terra vivExotics arboreal vivariums, either the small, medium or large one but i would prefer the small or if not then the VivExotic Viva+ Chameleon Vivarium Oak from swell reptiles. Anyways Good Luck to who's review gets chosen!

    I've been considering one these for my invert communal rug as the species I have in there like about 70-80% humidity which Is a pain to maintain with a squirtbottle. Would be nice to consider for future upgrades

    clean pure water won't go bad... it's the contaminations that turn it bad. so make sure you start with a clean tank and only add RO or destilled water

  • @Sanuske4
    @Sanuske4 10 місяців тому

    This is cool but I guess I am failing to see the purpose if you have to clean the water every day. I thought the point of these was to automate your humidity so you don't have to mess with it as much.

    The tank in that fogger does not last a week even on the lowest setting it is filled 2 to 3 times a day. sometimes it is high on its lowest setting sometimes it is normal

    Thanks so much for these, I've actually ordered one of these for my Whites Tree Frog enclosure, bearing in mind they don't love super high humidity - it's more for the plants in there so I'll be sure to keep an eye on that. How do you get it into the enclosure? Is resting it on top of the mesh enough? Will it just go through the mesh into the enclosure ok? Or do you snip a hole in the mesh for it to go inside?

    • @whiteviper1979
      @whiteviper1979 2 роки тому

      Snip a hole into the mesh and use or wire trim the sides so their are no sharp edges and push the hose through the hole you have cut out! Make sure you cut the size accordingly so it's not too big! Place the fogger on a sturdy small table or desk next too the cage either slightly lower then the cage but I don't recommend putting it on the screen itself expecially since the flimsy ones! Since your using a screen most of the humidity will actually almost immediately escape out of the cage! You can put a towel or use duct or gorilla tape on the screen too prevent too much humidity from forming inside of your cage! Make sure you are using a good quality herpstatt in conjunction with your heat pads and utilize a timer as well for both your fogger and or heat pads if necessary! Remember too keep your enclosure clean and sanitary as well! Remember too much or too little humidity can cause blistering and or scale rot on your snake and or lizard! Their are no cures for it either only treatment's!!!! I personally use tub/racks and or polyurethane plastic snake cages for my animals as humidity is easier too control!

      (Urgent care) Do not 🚫 use mineral water or tap water 🌊 for your reptiles in a fogger or humidifier!!! Use distilled or RO water only!!! Using tap or mineral water will negatively effect your reptiles physical health in the long run!!!

    Is there a way to run 1 fogger for 3-4 tanks

    • @whiteviper1979
      @whiteviper1979 2 роки тому

      Not effectively no!!! Not unless you literally modified one and custom built it yourself! What you really need too do is invest in a high quality humidifier too control the actual humidity in the room as this do wonders for your reptiles!!! It's critically important too keep your humidifier clean and sanitary as well as it could cause too much humidity which is not healthy for you or your reptiles!!! Timers are highly beneficial and will actually save you time, money, and effort in the long run! Keeping your reptiles environment is very important as well too keep them happy and healthy!!!

    DISTILLED WATER!!!!

  • @hurlrules1
    @hurlrules1 Рік тому

    Better option for that type or style of fogger aka cool mist humidifier is to use some fresh new pieces of copper pipe or some properly cleaned copper pipe inside the main tank and then use 4 or 5 pre 1981 real copper pennies in the lower portion of the humidifier then just be sure to clean the tube/s with a bleach water solution and rinse on a regular basis to ward off mold or other bacteria that might develop inside of it also copper is a known antimicrobial antibacterial antifungal material that will keep the water safe indefinitely lastly only use distilled water in these things as it will prolong the life of the until in general and it will also require less cleaning of hard water mineral buildup over time

      You should never clean mold with bleach. Use vinegar instead, your animals will thank you when they aren’t inhaling the toxic fumes created by mold and bleach
