Weidman never even tried to close his fist, even after being directly warned to do so. That was an active choice, not a mistake. If fighting for him is just winning by cheating, he should be booted out of the UFC and other orgs.
I lost total respect for Weidman after that fight.

I couldn't believe the post fight celebration.If you just turned on the fight and seen that you'd have thought Weidman won by highlight reel KO and not by a very questionable decision.I was confused as to why he was celebrating like he knew the results before they were announced because he did not look like the Weidman that fought Anderson Silva or previous opponents before Anderson.Weidman hasn't been the same since Rockhold put a dominant beating on him for the title in his own world of grappling.
Weidman is one of the least naturally talented fighters in the history of the UFC.
What he did was a little scummy but dude is a former world champ. He is a beast. Great wrestling. Good kicks. Decent striking. He was a monster and at 39 after that injury he still looks pretty good man. What r you talking about?
Actually he was a nightmare in his beginning and middle career. Hes just a turd now thats all. After the silva fight he lost 99% respect.

Between the judging,, the differences between referees,, the fence grabbing,, the eye poking,, last minute cancellations,, fighters missing weight or having difficult weight-cuts,, the somewhat convoluted subjective ambiguity of the scoring criteria,,, the glove holding,, the judges,, freak accidents,, the early stoppages,, the variability on the night,,,, GOOD LUCK betting on the UFC……. God forbid you try to hit a parlay,, or try to put together a successful lineup in DraftKings or Fan Duel or any of those things……

Everybody calling Weidman a disgrace needs to go to their safe space. The guy doesn’t have any kind of history of gouging eyes and ultimately it’s not on him to protect the other fighter. The ref blew that one, and action should have stopped with Weidman losing a point. But either way you can’t flop around and stop defending yourself bc you’re looking for a call.
