Overall, I think the selection this year is not as strong as previous ones. My favourites are Grito - Iolanda, Pelas Costuras - João Borsch and Pé de choro - Huca. For a bit of context Huca's song is an homage to the amazing Sara Tavares (esc 1994) that passed away last year. Maria João song is sung in 4 languages, portuguese, english, cape verdean crioulo and Tsonga (I think). As usual the portuguese songs are not immediate and they take a little bit of time to grow so I don't know how what is the best choice for this year. I guess everything will be decided with the staging and the performance. Thank you for your reaction ❤
Alesia, Thanks so much for the precious review! Yes..João Borsch for Eurovision. The song immediately places us inside a merry-go-round of dance and sensuality. Someone says that the lyrics describe cunnilingus at its best, others that it is a tremendous slay.🍒🍓🍉
FdC works great as a compilation album, so many pleasant songs. The hardest thing is to choose that one which maybe isn't going to capture the zeitgeist, but at the very least finds its niche, its target market and would not get lost amongst the infinitely loud and tacky array of entries in 100% tele semifinals.
for me iolanda and joao borsch are the ones who stand out the most, and if i have to choose one of them i would choose iolanda. the song is just unique and the bridge..... oh god, so delicioussssssss
It's Iolanda or Joao Borsch, subject to the live performances. Last year they chose the uptempo song between Mimicat and Edmundo, i think this year the ballad might have an edge.
I checked Leo Middea's music when he was announced as one of the composers and I found his voice rather similar to Salvador Sobral's, but with a Brazilian accent. (I think the recap video most people on UA-cam are reacting to chose the wrong snippet.)
I'd say that Bispo, Nena, Rita Rocha and Buba Espinho are the most famous among this year's FdC contestants. My TOP 5 for this FdC (in no particular order) are iolanda, João Borsch, MELA, Rita Rocha and Silk Nobre And I believe we can do great in Malmö. RTP has to work on the live performances and staging, and I really want them to do so.
1.filipa 2.Iolanda 3.Bispo - If not: Huca; Maria João; Onofre or Borsch As portuguese got to say: 80% are good songs to be listen on the portuguese radio and not for esc. That’s the appeal of FdC!
In full, Maria Joao's song could be the best for me. Gives me Yma Sumac vibes. Iolanda is very catchy. Silk Nobre could also have a very powerful moment live, especially the end part.
Maria João is considered one of the most important Divas of Portuguese culture. It would be very natural for her to win. Personally, Dia is the best song to represent Portugal.
You liked Bem Longe Daqui and while I agree it's probably not for Eurovision... I'd still really love to see City Pop at Eurovision one day, but it'd probably have to be internal selection for whichever country does it because I don't see the genre and anyone that represents it ever winning a National Selection show. Maybe Slovenia? Sebi was a shocker winnner after all.
While i have favorites which some can fall in the eurovision Iolanda-grito: its a interesting song and may capture the heart, but it may be considered "just another ballad" Joao Borsch-Pelas costuras, its a uptempo song, and very catchy but after the first part till the rock guitar thing, it can sound very repetite... The climax is the guitar rock part. eurovision fans love a screaming gurl... leo-doce misterio: is a "soft" samba and not the traditional carnaval samba... which may not be eurovision cup of tea. because its not strong enough or memorable. One thing we have to appreciate, at least FCD tries to bring different genres and celebrites every type. Eurofans may or may not like...
I am always curious about your comments because they are allways very coherent. I already listen all the musics for this year and besides we didn't saw yet the stages performances , my big choices here are just this 3 - No Maka feat Ana Maria, João Borsch and Iolanda. Buba Espinho as a cute song but not for Eurovision, Maria João as a very good performance but not for eurovision. Noble and Huca were a disappointement because they have other good songs and this ones were completed lost. Nena is also good but not enought in my opinion. Bispo in my opinion is not for eurovision and if he went there will not have any chance. Filipa seems to have a good song but at the end is just too much noise confusion. The rest didn't touch me at all.
Maria Joao, definetly !!! She is The Artist ! Cultural, vibrant, completly different. Then Huka or Joao Borsh Bispo also amazing. The wayvhe chose to end the song... 5 stars !! Yolanda and other girls are nice but plain, not innovating.
Actually, people are not feeling FDC this year in Portugal. There's some songs here that can do something but need good staging but we all know what happened with Mimicat last year. There's almost no excitement this year. It's a downgrade from 2023 and 2022. But yeah... Overall it's between Filipa, Iolanda and João Borch
@@RenatoPereira95 the song belongs in Swedish/Norwegian NF, zero Portuguese identity, even Black Mamba had more Portuguese sound than Filipa's song. With all of that being said, objectively it can get Portugal an ok result.
Eurovision season truly kicks in when Alesia reacts to the latest batch of songs from FdC!
João Borsch or Iolanda! Are my favorites songs! 🤌🏼💥
Grito Grito and more Grito. My fave of the season so far

Rita Rocha with the harp will blow your mind... Praying for a good staging

Iolanda and Joao my favorites so far! Great your review
Iolanda my winner of the mix

Thank so much for the atention given to FdC.
Rita Rocha she has the best song Magic and intense ❤❤❤
Borsh, Iolanda and Filipa ( guilty pleasure for Silk Nobre)
You have such good taste. Not afraid of more experimental entries. Btw Bandeiras was my fav last year.
Always a pleasure. I would chose out of the box and go for Leo Middea - Doce Mistério. I am getting
Daði og Gagnamagnið 2021 vibes, if staged well.
It's very summery, very Brazil.
In a way, it can be a fitting successor to Ai Coraçao
No maka ft Ana Maria is so Good!🩷
It's Iolanda or Joao Borsch, subject to the live performances. Last year they chose the uptempo song between Mimicat and Edmundo, i think this year the ballad might have an edge.
iolanda has a rare perfect gem.
The review we've been waiting for!
Leo Midea is my #1 this year. Please good live🤞

I love Noble so much, I think it’s so fantastic
I really like “Aceitar”! Such a good song!

Iolanda “Grito” all the way.❤

The song of Huca, Pé de Choro, is about Sara Tavares the representat of Portugal of 1994 that dies last year from brain cancer
I have many favorites but I think my number one is Agua or Grito.
What do you expect Portugal to pick?
joao borsch let's goooo
While i have favorites which some can fall in the eurovision

Bispo is definitely a No for me
My top 3:
1) Yolanda
2) Aceitur
3) Filipa
Rita rocha is the best
Maria joão is the best song for me
Maria João!!!!
Iolanda - Grito...100%
Iolanda the best
Bispo!
I prefer Filipa's song best but I think João Borsch's song would do better in Malmö. 🤔

Anyone but some Mello/MGPified pop from Filipa (and Noble's attempt to be Uku Suviste/Tom Leeb)
@@heppolo If Filipa gives us something good on stage I can't see why she shouldn't represent us...

Dia! Maria joão
Aaha. No way ! I must remind you that people voted 3rd for Salvador Sobral. If it was not the jury, Salvador wouldn t get passport to Eurovision.
2nd
You are right. But even worse, in 1st semi final public voted 3rd and other song won that semi final !
Bad songs nq for Portugal this year
