hi I am a firefighter at Chicago and I know All that you were teaching. And thank you for our continued support Shakopee Fire Department Go fire fighters I will see you next year Rob Indrebo
0:35 I agree because that is why If you see why couches catch fire easily because most modern furniture is made out of petroleum which is a the fuel that burns very fast and enlarges a fire to make a flashover fire deadly. That is why we should mandate fire sprinkler systems in single family houses as much as like what was like when we mandated seat belts in cars.
Firefighter's absolutely do look scary in all that stuff. I could stand there and have talked to you all day, and then you go out and put all that gear on, like you just did, you're not that same guy I just spoke to all day. EVEN THOUGH I WATCHED YOU GET DRESSED! Once that goes on, NOPE, NO THANK YOU, I would just go the other way!
They don't scare me. Unlike some of the fires they have to fight. Of course some people like firefighter pin up calendars, but they don't have all their gear on.
In Australia, what you call "bunker" gear, we call "Structure gear". Our other lighter gear is our "wildfire" gear. I assume that you probably call your hood a "flash hood". That's what we call it. Good job mate. Stay safe 👍
Interesting to see US turnout gear compared with UK fire kit. Almost all our brigades have beige clothing now, usually PBI Gold, on the continent they often have beige Nomex. Although European helmets are my favourite type of fire helmet, in America I much prefer the classic 8 comb helmet to the "modern" salad bowls.
