Growing up as a child we made sausages from scratch on my grandfathers farm, im surprised that so many people are disgusted or shocked by the process. Intestines as casings when well cleaned are perfectly fine to use in a culinary aspect.
This video to me, is mouth watering. The only bad thing that factories do is add unhealthy ingredients to the sausages

Man that's a cool machine. I remember doing this by hand with my grandfather on the farm. We did all our own meat and sausage. The indigenous in me enjoyed learning the way it was done like when he was a kid learning from his elders.

On the first part of the video, the man is only making the natural or hog 'casing' using the intestines. At 2:03 you can see how clean the intestines become after the process. The rest of the video show some processes of how meat filling is prepared and how stuffing is done. Some sausages use artificial casings called cellulose and collagen.

Casings can never be fully cleaned. Even though they look somewhat sanitary, they are imbued with invisible bacteria that you ingest when you eat a sausage.

Hey, I' ve made some. We have really old machine which makes sausages. Put meat, herbs, etc. into the grinder. Then thread an intestine onto the tube and slowly start pulling along with stuffing the grinder with meat. The meat mixture comes out through the tube and you have to stuff the intestine, so it's full enough. Then just tie some knots on the edges and you are done. It takes some practice, cuz its not that easy how it looks. Some were too stuffed and cracked, but that's ok. Hope it helped☺️

Sausages made with intestines are special sausages, at least in my country they're expensive than the normal sausage which are made with collagen cover or plastic (which you remove before cooking). So, don't worry, your normal hot dog uniform sausages aren't made with intestines.

I think sausages made with intestines are great thing. At end of day sausages are animal meat so why not pack them in animal's own intestines. Don't know about collagen covers but intestines are nature friendly than using plastics and safe too. I don't want plastic around anything I eat.
Intestines wont do any harm its actually healthy. Just clean it properly. I think most of the people dont like it because you know... Poop goes through those...

I used to make boudin sausage in a factory in Central Texas when I was 18. This takes me back to the days of seeing barrels full of sausage casings and coming home smelling like meat and liquid smoke flavor. ☠️ never again.
