This level is actually kind of insane. For how easy it is to get the 6 coins and defeat their bosses, this level is a sudden jump in difficulty that caught me completely unprepared as a kid. No halfway checks, some brutal jump timing that the other levels in the game don't prepare you for and those first few times; Wario's almost definitely going to kick your ass. I spent as much time trying to clear this one level as I did getting the 6 coins combined. It's brutal. Well, it was for child me. Adult me blazed through this game in like an hour, lol.
That is so true. The castle is so big without any checkpoints. It took me like 6 days to get to the castle. It took over 60 weeks before I was finally able to beat it.

Kind of like how the Sonic 2 movie had Sonic vs Knuckles, which was basically how it went doen in Sonic 3 & Knuckles. P.S.: And with a badass remix of that boss theme.

The trick is to grind on the 2nd left level on tree zone because you can get 5 extra lives so I just play that over and over until I have 99 lives and replenish if needed
5:20 Why does Wario give one of his shoes?... In the original GB, I always interpreted the item he drops as being the flag that Mario uses to replace the large W flag atop his castle. I think the person who remastered this game interpreted the item as Wario's shoe lol.
Also according to the comics about this game, Wario seemed to be legit traumatized by how Mario was as a kid and maybe a little... Mistreating towards Wario.

You are right. Since the original Gameboy had no colours to show the usual white and red transformation they had to show the fire flower power up visually with a feather on the cap. Whoever made this edited version did away with the feathered cap and just used the colours to show the change.
