Good Video! Bugling during high pressure public land elk hunting never worked for me. For me, after the public pressure has let up and the elk calm down, I've used a cow call (sparingly) first thing in the morning, and last thing in the early evening, to locate elk. In my experience, too many hunters are blowing calls scaring elk away.
Hey Dirk, have you ever tried the Paul Ladel Elk nut slow play. my first time ever going into elk woods, we had not heard a elk but we were in thick timber and took 30 minutes sounding like a bull with a hot cow and had a elk come in.
They can be affective when used correctly. Keep the bull curious by having your partner/caller show bits and pieces of the decoy, coupled with a little movement. A static unmoving decoy can sometimes spook an elk off.
Would any type of call be useful during second rifle end of October early November in your opinion? If so which one would you use for a bull or cow. Thanks

What do you think of decoys to bull in bulls that are hung up?
