Definitely one of my all-time favorite versions. You can't go wrong with Tommy, but make sure you don't miss his cover of You Raise Me Up, sung 1 octave higher, and All the Small Things, which he miraculously transformed into a Christmas song.
Yes I think you should link to the original artist, either directly to the song or to their channel. A lot of other reactors do that and that makes it easier for viewers to jump over to them to listen to more. As you said they let you use their work. There are a lot of time and energy spent on making arrangement/compose, making the videos and more.
I don’t know if you should call it a “cover” when it is a song from 1840’s. No one can hear the original of this one (a French song to celebrate the inauguration of a new organ in a church in France). The definition of a cover is usually “A cover song is a new performance or recording of a previously recorded song by someone other than the original artist or composer.” And for a song written in 1847 (music added to the poem from 1943) there will be no earlier recordings. The Swedish version is not a translation of the English version it is a translation of the French poem. For the music I don’t know if we use the original score or the slightly changed once from John Sullivan Dwight. Yes they know that they are using someone else’s work and Tommy for instance is always crediting the original in his comment to the video and if there is an official video/music on UA-cam he links to it as well. It isn’t more than fare to link imho.

You watched it and I’m so happy .. and I’m also very happy you liked him as I do 🌹. His two versions are so fun .. I do prefer the Swedish one but the English one is just very good to and for Tommy it shows versatility to be able to sing the song and interpret it such diffrent ways.. the Swedish heartfelt, genuine and homely .. the English one a performance for the stage .. and both dipped in metal .. I’m really confused about the block though since Tommy’s own stuff is independent and he really likes tractors ( even sometimes posting comments) Tommy would never block but it’s murky waters perhaps simeone trued to block pretending to represent Tommy .. I’ve seen in comments that that can happen .. if so it’s a sad thing .. but rest assure that a Tommy or the record company he eventually chose to go with with us solo stuff will not block .. he’s other bands Majestica and Sabaton is signed with nuclear records and they don’t block either .. once again 🙏

Many of the songs he just dropped was also sung a long time ago by Jussi Björling, legendary opera singer. It is a toss off the coin who is better. Another to mention is his namesake Tommy Körberg, who introduced the barock tremolos, which Johansson also uses to great effect

I was going to say that he ran a close second to David Phelps; but he ruined it at the end. If I want to hear someone sound like a woman; I’d rather just hear a woman.
