I do like a Mora myself, they should come zero scandi, much easier to add a micro bevel than to take off. Superb knives for working wood, I'm with you on the ferro rod gizmo though, prefer to keep one in my pocket then on the end of the knife.👍🏻
I agree but the one in the knife is a nice backup. Was camping and I lost my Ferro but I had the Spark so I was fine. My Ferro now has a bright orange cord
Thanks for the video.. nice to have you giving us all this information so we don't go getting things we don't necessarily need. Health and Happiness to you Rob
If it's any consolation Rob I live in Cumbria so similar climate to you and the only place I can find fatwood is off Amazon 😂. Gotta agree with the previous comment about your feather sticks. If mine were half as good as your worst one I'd be well happy. Keep up the good work 👍
Nice jacket Rob, haven't seen that one before. Managed to get 3 of those knives and replacement ferro rods for pennies when a outdoor shop had a closing down sale. They all have the black sheath though, but that doesn't stop them from cutting and sparking. I keep them as backups to my backups. Nice relaxing video with the "babbling brook"in the background, lovely birdsong too. They are the only small Moras I know of that have an integral lanyard hole. Hope the burn gets better.
One of the things I do when splitting a bigger log with a small knife is I split a bit close to the edge then use that as a wedge to actually split the wood works great. I have the light my fire one from years ago, I use that as my back up in the pack kind of knife.
Rob can you grab someone by the ear in Sweden and BEG them to make a 1/2 by 6 inch Ferro please?? I know it would be expensive but in my case SO worth it😂
I have one of the Victorinox Dual Sharpeners with the ceramic rod. I use it for keeping my SAKs sharp and field touch ups of my main knife. I think it is probably much better than the necklace and less than half the price.
You are probably right mate , I'd go with a Fallkniven DC stone or a DMT slip stone before this but they don't have to "cool factor" like the Viking pendant necklace.
👍👌Great review Rob. Disappointed with the knife, was thinking of buying one, they are relatively cheap here too. Now I think I'll go ahead and get a Bushcraft Black which have become available 😊. I'm still saving for the SRK 3v as my primary😅.
Yeah I mean with a DMT continuous surface you could zero that scandi out followed by a Spyderco ceramic, which BTW with a CSSRK in CPM3V you'll need those😂
Wish my best feather sticks were as good as your sh1tty ones. 😂. Good review of both products, fair and realistic comments on the wazoo stone, good for emergency's and a nice piece of jewellery. We've all done the teapot tango at sometime🔥🤣
Hi Rob😊 fair test mate, but I'd like to see what it's like after its been sharpened to your usual standards, im guessing it would be fine. I'm wondering how much tang is missing to accommodate the ferro rod, or does it go either side of it, ?. As a back up knife/ firestarter it's probably fine, and if that's all you had then ok, but you'd better treat it carefully . The viking sharpening stone, worked in your experienced hands, but for a beginner it's too small, and puts your fingers too near the sharp bits, I have a falkniven DC4 and have nicked myself whith that, so I wouldn't want to go smaller, or maybe I'm just not careful enough, lol. Anyway thanks for the video mate, stay safe, best wishe's to you and your's, Stuart UK.
This is so awesome! Love it!!!!!!!
Good one, Info and relaxing. As a coffeedrinker, I‘am always thinking about having a cup of tea while I am watching your videos…

What pisses me off is when I get a comment explaining where and how to find fatwood, you can't find something that isn't there!
Thankx Rob

bison bushcraft SAS pattern ventile smock.
I don't think he's made one for 15 years.
Morakniv Spark aldım daha fırsat bulup kullanamadım .teşekkürler başarılar 👏

I do that in the MK2 tribute tests .
Interesting stuff Rob 👍🍻
Hey Rob , dank voor het delen ... leuke video
grtz. Janneman

Nice
Interesting, I have a Spark and there's no microbevel. I wonder if they changed it on newer models.

Great review, love the honesty of your comments. Hope you had enough boiled water left for your cup of tea.
I certainly did

@@tikkidaddyZero Scandi's don't work very well in this part of the world as Rob knows only too well.
🤣Your bad featherstick is better than my best! 🤦♂️
👍👍👍👍
1970s medallion man bushcraft style 😂👍
Seems a bit of frustration of a knife. If making not a tough knife then seems should make sure it can perform the delicate tasks well.
Hi Rob, what was the sharpening stone made of? Sorry if you said and I missed it. Looked a bit like arkansas stone?
I think It is, sorry I didn't check.
PROFESSIONAL BUSHCRAFTER DEMONSTRATION VIDEÓ,,,👍🤝✌️😇😃

thanks for watching all the way through my friend.

You've nailed it mate, it's a backup knife.
I'd love to see that knife in carbon steel!
I think this one is in carbon , don't quote me on it but I think the early ones with the dual grind were stainless.
@@RobEvansWoodsman I'm pretty sure the new spark uses Mora's standard stainless steel
I stand corrected , it says stainless steel on it, I really don't like Mora's SS, prefer the carbon.
First time for everything I suppose 😂👍🏻
Just not your day, my friend. Those steam burns sting like hell.
It was the handle and luckily I dropped it just in time.
First
this man must really not like wood 🤣🤣
I like shaving, splitting and burning wood
@@RobEvansWoodsman to an american it sounds like you were saying fuck wood not phunkwood
🤣🤣🤣
It’s not fat, it’s big boned 🪵🤓
How about showing the most important thing about a necklace. WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE WHILE YOUNARE WEARING IT!🙄
Plenty of photos online of people wearing them.
