Great video. I now ride the Warminster line back and forth to Suburban every day. While I dislike the extra 3 hours each day traveling / walking to office, I enjoy the train and the exercise. A few months back, I arranged for our Amateur Radio Club to tour the SEPTA operations center. It was great to see the whole system up on the room sized video screen, and meet the folks behind SEPTA 1, SEPTA 2, etc. Rich / Warminster
@ghostengineer Until a year ago the Callowhill Substation located on the viaduct (where the old wye track used to be) still supplied 25Hz traction current. It was eventually replaced by the new Fairmount Substation at the point where the viaduct used to diverge.
Does that explain why there's a point just past the Suburban station where it seems there was supposed to be a connecting track between two of them that wasn't there....was there one that was removed during the re-alignment?
56, I run anything that amtrak throws at me between nyc and dc. I surely rather run mu cars over the acela anyday and the sunday after Thanksgiving I had the opportunity to run njt mu cars to dc and took it.
Great lighting great looking tunnels great looking videos!
Great lighting in the tunnels and that shot of Center City coming out of the Suburban Station fantastic!
Very beautiful! Fantastic! I myself would never have the creativity to plan a town like that!
Awsome. As a lifelong Philly guy I never had a reason to use the commuter trains. That was fascinating.

Years ago as a Temple student, I would experience this ride on the R6 going to and coming from campus
2 stations 1 long subway tunnel

Tracks into the Suburban platforms were re-aligned during the CCC Tunnel project.

SEPTA is really gracious about the tours.
ahhhh my old stomping grounds. Even though Im running "high speed" trains, I rather much miss my Septa RRD. Thanks for posting Mike
@nichols15 There was much more demand by people to stand in the front cab so I just went to the back and stayed there for the entire trip.
Cool Stuff! Thanks for sharing!
Wht didn't the train stop at Surburban station?
It was a charter fantrip.
you should do a front view video when you get a chance

Nice but it should be in addition to Reading Terminal this cut back little operation should never have replaced the terminal.
