Good question Mark, we do use OS but on both our phones via a subscription. I use OS on my PC to plan each sector to get accurate views on the amount of climbing and length on a given day (you can set your own speed settings!) and these routes are then automatically on the OS phone app. It's saved us a couple of times including our walk from Crackington. Generally the route is very well signposted, but some sections less so and knowing via GPS that we're off track has saved us. We've never had a problem with battery and this isn't the mountains (where I'd definitely have a paper back up) and it's worked really well. You can see all traditional OS maps as well as other views. Have a great time planning your walk...we've been loving it.

    I'm enjoying these posts.
Have you had to use an OS map at any point?
It looks like the path is very clear, well signed, and the obvious aid of the sea.
As a hill walker my instinct is to always carry one, but when I do the SWCP in September, I'm tempted to not take one.
