I'm trying to change my battery but can't get the retaining plate off. The bolt is going around but won't seem to grip. This is for both tightening and loosening. I've tried to get a screwdriver in to lever it up but no luck. Any ideas?
It’s because they usually get a lot of corrosion on the bottom end under the tray hence that is why it le just spinning. If you can force a screwdriver under the plate which is holding the battery and then try undoing it.
@@TajMotorMedics there was no nut on the bottom end but a threaded insert inside the plastic that was going round. I ended up drilling and grinding the head off.
Maybe because the battery was low that’s why the light was on and I did a golf yesterday had the same issue all lights were and when I replaced the battery it fixed it’s self.
@@TajMotorMedics thanks for that... I've just got a zafira with that light and a 0304 code...so hopefully a new battery and some sparks myt sort it ... I appreciate the reply mate.. so you think battery then yeh?

That's nothing like a zafira tourer, which is much more complicated. Can't undrestand why anyone would need instruction to do this
Why put in lower capacity battery
Damn - I dropped the battery bolt!
