Thank you! That was excellent! I failed trying to solo today, and yet being F2P I “swore” I wasn’t going to evolve without blast burn on a “good” IV ‘mon. Your very cool sensibilities and explanation will empower me to give it a try tomorrow-without spending dust or TMs!

I also recommend using Blastoise in combination with Charizard.
My strategy is similar to the one you recommend but instead of using Charmeleon during the standard attacks I used Blastoise. Because Blastoise is a tank, he can survive for up to three rounds. Another benefit I’ve noticed using Blastoise is that the Max Meter charges faster. I’m not sure why but I would assume it’s due to his fast move.
Finally, I only need those two to solo the battle so my third is any involved, low CP Pokemon that I want to farm candy with. No need to worry about recalling.

@@kekahili I think you described the exact strategy I said ;) My energy didnt charge as fast though... Probably because I was using water gun and you might have been using bite... which would make more sense because it would be super effective.

I'm totally on board with the Dynamax train! It seems super fun! It's a new hunt! And makes managing space more interesting! (Of course I'm bad at space, cuz I'm a hoarder!😅) Why I liked your pokedex management vid! Need time to follow those tips and search threads, been super busy! Glad this can be soloed bcuz I doubt I get to town to meet with people. I'm super rural! I've been getting the 900 energy a day on a reg from walking. I farm, like as irl! A Farmer. Tractors go slow!😅 free distance! But no stops, gyms, or dens unless I leave the countryside, which is rare!

I've got 10 dynamax capable mons. Most suck on ivs. But I'd wait on collecting my 300 energy if thought I'd go to town and could hit some spots. I powered up several moves, just bcuz use it or lose it, and I got the candy! Sitting on 1240 energy, with 300 ready to claim. Hoping I see town 2mrw and some beldum!😅

    Nice Vid, Lucky :)
I did my first Max Beldum raid yesterday, and went with a Charizard, Greedent and Charmander. I ended up only needing 2 'mon for it. I will admit, my Charizard was 98% (15-15-14) and Level 23, as I powered it up for one of the research tasks. My Greedent was also 96% (15-14-14) and unpowered. I used firespin and overheat on Charizard and Bite/Bodyslam on Greedent. Greedent was the only one to have Max Spirit at L1 as well (all just had Max Attack L1). I ended up only needing Charizard/Greedent with only Greedent fainting. I did use Max spirit a couple of times to heal it so that it would last longer, as I noticed early on that Max Darkness wasn't really doing as much damage as Max Flare. So I swapped them once (built up the Max meter with greedent, swapped to charizard when it maxed), but the second time I decided to test the Greedent. Charizard finished taking out beldum after greedent fainted, though it too was close to fainting. There were no other 'mon providing attack bonuses as I was the first trainer to do the battle. Overall, it was fun. More complex than standard raids, and I definitely think tier 5 Max battles will require multiple trainers to coodrinate efforts a lot more to be able to take bosses down. Fun stuff so far. :)

I beat it with 2 dubwool and a charizard. Just tank everything on dubwool, swap to charizard when dynamaximg and max flare, and swap back to dubwool to tank until ready to dynamax again. Also dodge. Dodge everything and it doesn't do much damage

I got a really good IV wooloo from my max research so I powered up it’s healing move in the first week. My strategy has been to use two charizards and when they get low in health to bring in my dubwool and heal everyone. With maxed heal moves you get about 75% of your charizards health restored. Probably won’t work for more powerful Pokémon boss, but worked out great for me.

Great info. I got kicked from one raid twice which was annoying but otherwise loving this feature and as a few youtubers have said, this could be the way raids go in general from now on instead of passes. Would be much easier to put MP into any raids of your choice instead of just buying remote passes, normal raid passes and MP for MP raids.

    • @Acay1
      @Acay1 4 місяці тому

I noticed the kick from the raid happens if you try using a pokemon that is already assigned in a Power Spot. This basically means you'll have to always change the one pokemon on your party or not leave any pokemon at power spots. I named the power spot pokemon differently to make it easier to differentiate them from each other.

For more candy you can pop your phone in a sock and shake it. I powered up my basti, lickitung, Medich, and several legendaries. From my experience it caps the walking distance at 230km per week. Once I hit that amount I stopped getting xl and regular candy. To mitigate this I usually do 20-40km a day with a poffin, which depending on the pokemon and distance can net 15 to 20 xl candies plus regular. Hope this helps

There actually does seem to be a timer. Because I was using a blastoise team I was taking way longer than one should take. Consistently around the 5 minute mark the raid would crash and kick me out, refunding my mp and returning my Pokémon to a pre battle state. Even if I would have won the game canceled the raid. This is most likely a bug but it goes to show that you probably shouldn’t use blastoise

IDK if investing stardust to power up Pokemon for dynamax raids is worth it right now. Most of us have enough candy for Beldum, Charizard, Venusaur and Blastoise to seriously never have to worry about candy for them again. Another way to get rare candy is welcome but the rewards beyond that have been very underwhelming, I've yet to receive candy XL, which isn't a big deal for these Mon but still.. I'd be more inclined to invest resources on this if they made an item to turn stuff you own to be able to dynamax. I'm not bulding a seventh metagross lol

Sorry if this is a dumb question but how much does cp matter? I’m sure there’s a recommended level in this case 20 in your example?

    • @andrewtucker2014

I wanted to test this so I did one raid at level 20 and one at level 30 - since there isn’t a timer I don’t have an exact score, but I had one less Dynamax round I had about half the damage. It also smokes through the starters - I’m glad I did it but I can see the argument for not doing it!

Team as close to 2000cp dodge as much as possible only use best 1 to dynomax last minute swap saving hp max attack 2 twice and max Guard level 1 best 2nd move as temporary shield swap using 2 Pokémon to charge until you have to use dynomax

So when i failed my first Beldum, the game DID charge me MP to try again. It was the exact same Power Spot I just did and it told me i didnt have enough MP to do the raid

Has it been buffed? I soloed it first day quite easily with only 1 Charizard + the (literal) goat ca 1k CP, and a Charmander (just to dump after raid).
Charizard at CP 2,1k only Max attack lvl 1 (no more candy)

I've had it happen twice now where Beldum barely does any damage to my Pokémon all raid long, but then once two of my Pokémon are down and Charizard is all I have left, Beldum suddenly does HALF of my Charizard's HP worth of damage in one hit. By that point Charizard has already taken enough damage that this makes him faint instantly and I lose.
    What. The. Heck?!
Also one time I finally ALMOST beat him, he was in the red... "Sorry, something went wrong. Please try again" and it kicked me out of the raid. FUN.

I had this happen once also, but then a couple more and the damage from Beldum seemed the same throughout. I was thinking he got more powerful as he got lower HP or something... but it isn't consistent.
