Mets were on the road for over a week and playing some crazy games. it would have been perfect if they won today but that would be too easy. They have more drama for us in NY. It’s not going to be easy. LGM!!!

no shame from the offense who fought back and responded to every punch. some real shame to our 100 million dollar man for being unable to find the strike zone when the team needed him most. i know diaz cares and all that but yeah, it really sucks that he let the team down when we had a chance to go for the kill. this loss isn't a complete backbreaker, but it is the one we will look back on if we eventually lose this series
The Phillies had to do everything they could just to split at home. I consider this a huge win. Back to citi field to shut them down. Love this team!
That game was terrific. Quite possibly the most enjoyable loss I have ever seen in over 40 years lol.

Mets pitching throwing too many hanging sliders cost them the game
Diaz threw four consecutive sliders and last one was a 90mph hanging slider
Same with megill hanging slider lost game

Not really. Phillies fans have been out on this team since like July. My point in saying this isn’t to take anything away from the Mets at all. They’re on a roll and at this point are the better team. But anything you’re sensing from Phillies fans well predates this series.

All the big hits by the phillies were on meatballs by the mets pitching staff. Seemed like the mets staff would get into good counts, 2 strikes etc and boom they give up bombs.
This was the Mets chance to win the series, that sucks even they showed a lot of grit
Mets offense is alive and well. We always knew that at some point we may run out of pitching. Hopefully we piece it together. I know theyre inconsistent but should put in Danny Young or Attavino at end of game. Yes they often suck but they are fresh reliever arms. Maybe get lucky. We just dont have enough arms sometimes.

I have no problem with Mendoza's pitching decisions. It's not like anyone in that pen is better than Megill. Diaz was our best bullet and we already used him (which was also the right decision).
Diaz walking Harper on 4 pitches was ridiculous. It put the lead run to the plate and he was 2 for 15 against Diaz. Worst case he ties it. It opened up the big inning

game felt late like whoever batted last wins. I hope that continues for 2 more games at citifield.. it seems like the starting pitchers are doing much better than the relievers on both teams.

I wore a Flyers jersey to a Penguin game in Pittsburgh and I was cursed at and had things thrown at me and my son.
