      @@LavallaisPictures That is really tough..but if I had to narrow it down I would it's a tie for me right now between Seasons 4 & 8. 4 because they introduced Lois and this was starting the downfall between Clark and Lex which was played so well....8 because this was when the relationship between Lois & Clark started to go somewhere I did not really care for the Doomsday plot as I felt it was too early in his timeline for something like that but I just loved the interactions between Lois and Clark during this time..I really love all the seasons but would say 7 is my least favorite because of how they did Lex but I understand why he had to go down that deep hole.

      I love the relationship of Clark and Lois and especially how different it was from him and Lana. I do hate how they did Lex in season 7 but I’m glad he came back in season 10.

    I’m so glad you put season 10 as your top 2! It’s my favorite season because it focuses on the Lois and Clark relationship. Plus, it’s the season he finally realizes who he is and is meant to be. I didn’t care for Zod either. I feel like the actor didn’t make a good Zod.

    One thing I can say about season 4 that I never liked is that there were so many, cliff hangers that by the time the season ended, they were never answered in the later seasons. In season four, it was said that Clark's great great great Grandfather brought the stones of knowledge to Earth. Hundreds of years before the destruction of krypton. But in season 9 it was stated that Clerks father Jor El sent the stones of knowledge to Earth 20 years before the destruction of krypton through a portal. So the question that was never answered. Is how did they end up 400 years in the past on Earth and one of them 3000 years in Egypt? When they were only sent 20 years before the destruction of krypton and they were sent through the portal A.K.A stargate did something happened. And one of the stones of knowledge was guarded by kryptonite, which was never answered why if they were met for Clark. Or for the house of El. And when Jonathan asked him why that was. Clark said i don't know and there was never given any answer or explanation for why that was. It would have been a great storyline if they found out that Jason's ancestor put those kryptonite there to guard the Stone. Or one of the members of Veritas. What are your thoughts on that. And one more thing, I forgot to mention Jor El sent the stones of knowledge before he had a son. But all of his knowledge of his son were in the stones when he created the fortress. The only thoughts I have on. That is, if it had something to do with the key to his ship that programmed all of the knowledge in to the fortress of solitude. Because the key had all the knowledge that he sent for his son and he could talk to his kryptonian father in the caves before the fortress. I think it would have been a better storyline in my personal opinion. If the key to the ship turned in to the crystal that formed the fortress. It would've made a lot more sense that way. That whole thing in season 9 comfort dictated all of season 4. With the stones of knowledge which didn't make any sense. I wonder if the Writers didn't think that through or just forgot. I can't be the only fan out there. That realized that little detail and still is scratching my head on it.

    • @LavallaisPictures
      @LavallaisPictures  8 місяців тому

      Yes, I never thought of that before, how did the stones have knowledge of his son? But Jor-El was always a disembodied spirit in Smallville. First in the spaceship, and then the caves. It was supposed to be an AI. So I guess it could’ve learned about Clark. But that still doesn’t explain the stone surrounded by Kryptonite.

    Season 9 is my favorite too. I can't believe it has the lowest ratings when it's one of the best seasons out of all of them. And why was the Rider strike on season 7? And one thing I didn't like is after lana got Clark's powers. She thought she was entitled to them kind of like lax. She really did change.

    • @LavallaisPictures
      @LavallaisPictures  8 місяців тому +1

      The writer’s strike was during season 7 because the union contracts were up and had to be renegotiated. And yea, I didn’t like Lana after she got with Lex.

    Hey!! Great video!! I agree with lots of your commentary, but my ranking is a little different. ☺
    1. S5 - I have a special affection for season 5, I love the transition from High School to Daily Planet, to Metropolis. I love the Clark and Lana romance that runs through most of the season. I also love Jonathan's election to the Senate. And, of course, the magnificent episode of his death.
    2. S4 - This season is wonderful. The idea of searching for the three stones that together build the Fortress is incredible. I love the story of Countess Margaret Isobel Thoreaux and the Teagues. Lois' entry is another key point. And the way Chloe knows about Clark.
    3. S3 - This season I always see as a preparation for the next big season. It starts with the tasty uncensored version of Clark in Metropolis, followed by the wonderful story of Lex's "madness" set up by Lionel. We have the estrangement of Clark and Lana. We have Clark abandoning Lex's friendship. And we culminate in the spectacular final episode.
    4. S6 - This season is often underrated. Lana's relationship with Lex is very interesting. It's the best of the season. We see the beginning of her enchantment with him, more like an escape from herself. Then we see her starting to see who Lex really is and wanting to leave him, but unable to do so. The wedding episode is another catalyst moment of the series. Until we get to the moment where Lana wants revenge on Lex.
    5. S1 - It's the season when everything is still very cute. We still have a good and friendly Lex. We have Lana still involved with Whitney. We see the beginning of conflicts between Lionel and Lex. It's snuggle season for Smallville lovers.
    6. S2 - I'm not a big fan of this season. At times it even bores me. However, it is an important season and some relevant and well-developed events take place here. We have Pete discovering Clark's secret. We have the discovery of red kryptonite and how it affects Clark in a way that is amazing to see. We have the discovery of the Kawatche caves. We have Martha working with Lionel. And we have Clark discovering his past in the incredible encounter with Dr. Virgil Swann.
    7. S10 - It's the season I watch the least. Obviously, because it's the last one. It's Clark and Lois relationship season. But we also have a well-constructed plot about the Superheroes Registry. We also have the Luthor and Kent episodes, which explore the two most iconic families. The return of some actors brings a very special flavor to the season.
    8. S7 - For many years this was the worst season for me. It all felt like it was played without much care, especially when looking back over the previous six seasons. But after analyzing it better, it still manages to be better than the eighth, maybe because we still have Lex, Lionel and Lana. Despite some problems, it's still nice to follow the story of Veritas and Lex's discovery about Clark.
    9. S8 - You put this season in a great position, but for me it's one of the most problematic. However, for years I considered it to be one of the best. Maybe because it brings a freshness at the beginning with Clark and Lois in the Daily Planet, and because it followed a not so good season. But it brings one of the screenplay holes that bothers me the most in the entire series.
    The writers had here Lionel uncover Clark's secret early on, as they came up with the story of Lionel taking Davis in and then abandoning him after discovering that the Kents had adopted a child. That way, Lionel's doubts about Clark at the beginning of the series would make no sense. That bothers me too much. And we still have Jimmy's ridiculous death, with the pathetic justification that Jimmy wasn't the real Jimmy, just because the writers didn't want to work with the character anymore in the following season.
    10. S9 - This is definitely the worst season. Most episodes are weak. The script is inconsistent and has some holes. This is evident in a sequence of Kandorian Alia, who arrives from the future with Lois at the beginning of the season. Alia couldn't have powers when she arrived with Lois because Kandorians don't have power under the yellow sun. In the future Alia had powers because Zod had turned the yellow sun into a red sun, however, just before Lois returned, Clark had already reversed the sun. When Alia runs with her super speed to Lois, she couldn't have powers anymore, much less in the past when she arrives with Lois. It's a gross mistake. Have you ever paid attention to this fact?
    *Sorry about my english. It's not very good. I'm a big fan of Smallville from Brazil. 😊

      @LavallaisPictures  Рік тому +1

      Your English is perfect! And I never clocked that Alia plot hole before! You’re right, she shouldn’t have had any powers. And I too didn’t like the Lionel/Davis retcon in season 8. For me season 7 was the worst for a long time but on rewatch it was okay until the last 5 episodes that felt rushed and stretched out at the same time. But I do agree with a lot of your reasons for your rankings.

    • @samueldias9240
      @samueldias9240 Рік тому

      @@LavallaisPictures Oh, thanks. 😊 Yeah, when I realized that plot hole of Alia, I thought, how could the writers let this happen? But then I believe it's because the episode that takes place in the future was not written at the same time as the premiere episode. They envisioned what it would be like, but they didn't have all the details in mind.

    • @LavallaisPictures
      @LavallaisPictures  Рік тому +1

      I’m sure that’s what happened. They usually break the episodes in order of appearance and probably hadn’t even thought of them not having powers in the present, yet.

    My list is a bit different:
    10. Season 6- I agree with you on Lana and Lex. This season had a good fight with Titan and I really enjoyed the finale.
    9. Season 8- they introduce Doomsday and this is the guy that is supposed to kill Clark and instead they kill off Jimmy Olsen and after two seasons that motivates him to finally take on the role of being a superhero?! No offense to Aaron Ashmore but I really didn't care for Jimmy Olsen but that whole premise was odd to me if that is what they were going for. Sam Witwer deserved better.
    8. Season 4- I get that they wanted to stay true to the comic storyline but making Lois, Chloe's cousin and trying to introduce her in the middle of nowhere to an amnesiac Clark seems so forced. Spell was a nice memorable episode though.
    7. Season 10- Started out really good with Lazarus and Homecoming. I even enjoyed the Tess Mercer origin story. Finale had some good moments in it but fans wait ten years to not see Tom Welling don the costume and cape?
    6. Season 3- The fight between Clark and Jonathan was the best. And you start to see just how cruel Lionel is and how Clark begins to distance himself from Lex.
    5. Season 1- I enjoyed Eric Johnson and the freak of the week episodes.
    4. Season 2- introduction of red kryponite made this a rewatchable episode for me with some more freak of the week episodes. Insurgence is a favorite of mine as well.
    3. Season 5- Reckoning and Lexmas episodes big tear jerkers. Plus, Lana starts to get close to Lex with is a tear-jerker in a sense for me because I'm Team Clana.
    2. Season 9- showdown with Zod, Weekend getaway episode where they run into Siobhan, the Justice League two-parter, Amanda Waller, Metallo, loved it all.
    1. Season 7- I really liked the Bizarro opener, Brainac's back, and the finale we all have been waiting for when Lex discovers Clark's secret. I do agree with you on the introduction of Supergirl and Jimmy Olsen. It wasn't necessary.
