I think You Tube puts together finds for me by what I frequent most. Here you are! Loved your episode. I usually stitch while watching; I was too busy writing down and ordering the items. Your shows are going to be expensive but loved. Thank you
Gloria, Thank you so much for your wonderful comment on my video. You are so sweet. I am thrilled that you found my channel. See you next time. Best, K
Thanks for sharing all of your beautiful stitching Karen. For your Elizabeth Eyles drum, my first choice would be the prim grey velvet. The floral fabric is also beautiful but a bit busy for that piece. You want to highlight that amazing bird!! I love your quilt!! Great scrap buster!! Have a great time at Stitchcon!!
Donna, You are definitely on the winning team. Team velvet is winning by a landslide. You comments are on track, which I should have known without even asking. Thank you for your compliment on the quilt. See you next time. Best, K
Hello Karen, you have been quite industrious. The results are breathtaking. It was nice to see Jane and Maria, and they’ve surely grown. Your stunning quilt dazzled me. I love the story of how you learned what project your mother was making with the yo-yos-they are darling and and were creations from both of you. You are inspired and inspiring. Thank you so much for the art you’ve offered from your heart and hands. To answer to your question: I stumbled upon your first video.
Joann, Thanks so much for your wonderful comment on my video. I am thrilled that you came upon my channel. I am so happy to have gotten an idea of what my mother was working on. Daughter agrees. That is totally what her grandmother would have made. See you next time. Best, K
Nicola, Hands across the Sea, did a wonderful video (I think in the past year) explaining pinning and lacing. She makes it seem very straightforward. I have several pieces to lace and will be watching that video several times before I begin! 😊 have fun at Stitchcon! ❤
Penny, I have watched her video also. I am still just all thumbs. I would love to have someone else do the lacing for me. Oh well. I'll report on Stitch Con next time. Best, K
The colors of your quilt are my favorites. My first quilt ever was black and tan and I still have it. 45 years ago.! Great video. Opps yours is blue not black. But I love yours too.
Have a great time at Stitchcon! Bonnie Hunter bought a huge old house in VA and turned it into a retreat venue for her quilting classes. Love your tomato. Bird Brain Designs is a favorite shop of mine. I have several of their embroidery designs from their club. Happy stitching!
Deborah, Thank you for taking time to comment on my video. I am so happy to know that you enjoyed it. I am very happy with my Big Tomato finish. See you next time. Best, K
Hi Karen, You are looking good!! OMG, that Tomato!!!! I Love!!! !!! You did an awesome finish!! Jane is coming along and she's such a beautiful stitch!! ❤❤ Enjoy the retreat!! I'm sure that you are excited!! Your first!!! Yay!! Love your quilt!! It is Huge!! The information that you shared was wonderful! Thanks for sharing!!! Safe travels to and from the retreat!! Looking forward to hearing all about it!! See you next time!!! Barbara
Barbara, Thank you so much for your comment on my video. Isn't that tomato to die for? I love it too. I am very excited about the retreat. I am a bit overwhelmed about the expectations for exchanges and gifts. My late admission hasn't given me much time to prepare. Nonetheless, I can't wait. I will love to fill you in next time. Take care. Best, K
Love, love, love the tomato!!! Also, all your stitching too. I would (and some I'm stitching now) all your stitching WIPs and many of your planned. Thank you! Enjoy StitchCon.
Beth, Thank you so much for your comment on my video. I love the tomato too. Happy to know that we both have the same taste in stitching projects. See you next time. Best, K
Karen, Another wonderful video! You are such a joy to watch. I love the prim gray velvet for the drum - that will be exquisite. It’s rich and adds depth to the jewel tone motifs. You can always embellish with ribbon to accent your favorite color. Blue or pink ribbon would really pop!
Hello Karen, you are looking really well. Clearly meeting other stitchers in person energises you. I'm suffering very badly from Retreat envy. I've been watching the recaps of Stitch North, Quilters Station, Ammana & the anticipation for Stitch Con can be felt across the ocean in 🇮🇪 Your stitching is beautiful as always. Jane is looking really good 👏👏👏 Throughout your video, my eyes were drawn to the quilt. It is beautiful, the colours & detail 👏👏👏 I aspire to make a simple quilt someday. Have a wonderful time at Stitch Con, I look forward to hearing all about it on your return. Take care, safe travels. Best wishes from 🇮🇪
Anne Marie, Thank you for your comment on my video. I understand what you mean about retreat envy. I have also been feeling very missed out. I was so happy to have gotten a late admission to Stitch Con. I wish you could be there with me. Thank you so much for your comment on the quilt. See you next time. Best, K
Kathy, Thank you for commenting on my video. Finishing can be overwhelming to me unless I take small steps. I tend to put it off. See you next time. Best, K
Thank you so much for the compliment. The praise goes to Jane herself and to HATS for the production of the pattern. I never tire of working on it. See you next time. Best, K
I love the background quilt!!!!!!!! I’m so glad you figured out what your mom was going to make. That’s so fun. My cousin and I have been scratching our heads for years over something her mom had.
Christine, I was blown away when someone came up with a picture of those yo-yos. I am sure that is what my mom. was going to make. Thanks for the comment on the quilt. Looking forward to meeting you in person at Stitch Con. Best, K
OMG! Love, love, love that Tomato! All of your stitching is so beautiful. The scrap quilt is gorgeous, love the colors. Have fun at Stitch Con. Marilyn
Marilyn, I love the tomato too. I appreciate your compliment on my stitching and quilting. I will be happy to report on Stitch Con. See you soon. Best, K
I discovered Bonnie Hunter many years ago and LOVE Asher system and her patterns. I think I have all her books and hope to make many of the quilts therein, thanks for hilighting this genius I. The quilting world.
I love the big fat tomato! It is adorable! All your projects are beautiful. I am glad you get to go to Stitch Con. I can’t wait to hear about your experience! Thanks for sharing!
Karen, I love, Love, LOVE that big tomato! You did a fabulous job! If you would be interested in doing one for hire, please let me know! I am setting up a new sewing room and that piece would be gorgeous on my shelves. Great progress on your WiPs and our tastes are similar in that I have Peaceful Kingdom & Spring Moon in an online shopping cart of my own. I had not seen the Star Spangled Ornaments but they are so cute and a great project for summer stitching. My vote for your pin drum is the solid velvet for the top & the lovely print for the bottom of the drum; both fabrics are so pretty & that way, no one gets left out of the party! I just completed Luminous Fiber Arts Gathering Berries (less than 20 hours of stitching time & have Gathering Clover ready to start stitching tonight. Your Blue Ridge Beauty may be my favorite quilt so far. So intricate and the geometric arrangement of colors is spectacular! Have a great time at Stitch-Con and see you in 3 weeks. Happy Stitching xoxo
Barbara, I enjoyed making the big tomato, but wouldn't like to do it for hire. Sorry. Have fun setting up your new sewing room. Team velvet is winning by a landslide. Thanks for your input. I really appreciate the compliment on Blue Ridge Beauty. See you next time. Best, K
I'm so glad you found out what your mom was planning to use those yoyos for😊. Have a wonderful time at Stitch Con! I'm looking forward to hearing about it!
Maureen, Thank you for your comment on my video. I was blown away that someone had a pic that showed what my mom had in mind. See you next time. Best, K
Karen you’re using the same type of magnet I use!! I love the large neodymium magnets! I use them to hold my working copy on my fabric while I’m stitching 😊
Angela, I didn't know what the magnets were called. So happy to know. I took them off a needle minder that was not strong on the front, but was very strong on the back. Now I know what I need to order in the future. Hope to see you next time. Best, K
Another great video!! I love the brown velvet for your drum and…..THAT QUILT!!! I love Bonnie Hunter. I have several of her books. Can’t wait to hear all about StitchCon 🤓🤓
Hello Karen another beautiful quilt. What a wonderful memento if you made your mothers ornaments .Place one of your mothers puffs at the base of the tomato. Your videos are always a delight. Love the red sampler and the MFE piece. Use the Velvet on the drum.Happy stitching
Thank you so much for your comment on my video. I have noted that you are on team velvet. So happy to know that you enjoyed what you saw. See you next time. Best, K
So funny, I live in Missouri, so we get a lot of spring storms too. When things get dicey I go downstairs which is where my sewing studio is located. I sit there, usually sewing on whatever I’m working on, watching the weather on the tv. When things get really dicey and a warning pops up, I have a storm corner in my store room that I head to with my pup. I don’t care for storms and my pup hates them even more. I love your tomato! I also love your red sampler, beautiful stitching!
Jeanne, I can relate. Grew up in Michigan, so we always had a basement to go to. In KY, many homes are built on slabs. One of our requirements when we built here was to have a lower level for safety. In addition, Richmond, KY is the location of the Army Depot. They have many poisonous gases from as long ago as WWI in their care. It is a long process to get rid of these dangerous chemicals. Our county has a very elaborate system of safety in case of an accident. We had an actual safe room included in our home because of that. Too much information. See you next time. Best, K
Your tomato is so cute! Jane Hopkins looks wonderful. Your stitching plans sound like great fun. For magnification, I use magni-clips, the 4x magnification but they also come in less. They clip onto your glasses, can be flipped up and down (helpful when I'm stitching and watching tv at the same time) and are less than $20 at 123stitch. Have a wonderful time at stitchcon! Take care, and happy stitching.
Marleen, Thank you so much for your comment on my video. You and I are on the same wave length. I bought Magni-clips in 4x magnification. They will work great for me at the retreat. They can't match my big light magnifyer, but will be great at the retreat. See you next time. Best, K
Barbara, Thank you so much for your comment. Team velvet is definitely winning. I appreciate your input. I look forward to sharing my experience about Stitch Con. Take care. Best, K
Enjoy your time at Stitch-Con!! I hate to lace, and I worked at a frame shop doing their needlework mounting. Switched to pins! Since you asked, I would prefer the velvet on the drum. Be safe!
Marlene, Happy to know that a professional lacer also hates it. Team velvet is winning in a landslide. I will happily report on Stitch Con next time. Best, K
Hi Karen-You have exciting summer stitchy plans. I will be doing Cross Stitch Summer Camp, too. While either the velvet brown or the floral would be good on the drum top, my vote would be the velvet. Enjoy StitchCon.
Great show again. A new Car huh, might take more than seven stitchers for that! You would probably enjoy he Hummingbird pattern for Stitchcon. Have a fab time.
Wow wow wow Karen! Your projects just get better every week. Your Jane Hopkins is breathtaking. And I've stitched Red Deer - it's a lot of border so keep doing it as you go! If you made those tomatoes to sell, I would be the first to sign up!! Love your videos and have fun at Stitch-Con! Becky from PA.
Becky, Thank you so much for your wonderful comment on my video. It would be wonderful to be able to buy that big tomato pin cushion, but I can't imagine what the price would be. So much better to make my own. You could do it too. I look forward to reporting on Stitch Con. See you next time. Best, K
Thank you so much for the information on the Tomato pin cushion. I went online and ordered it immediately! It was just what I was looking for. Love all your stitching, and your quilts are exquisite❤.
Diana, So happy to know that you liked seeing my Big Tomato finish. Good luck making it. I hope you can avoid my pitfalls. Again, I think it was my problem, not the designer. See you next time. Best, K
First time I've watched your flosstube and i loved it! Katie from Novel Stitcher recommended it. Your stitching projects are varied, and some that are new to me. I have made 2 of Bonnie Hunter's mystery quilts. I also use her scrap saver system. My dilemma is always - cross stitch or quilting. Right now, cross stitch is winning out!
Connie, Thank you so much for letting me know how you found my channel. I have checked out Katie's channel and will be thrilled to recommend her. Bonnie Hunter is amazing. Like you, I am constantly trying to balance out between cross stitch and quilting. See you next time. Best, K
Cheryl, Thank you for your kind comment on my video. I think I am going with Hummingbird for stitch camp. I will be happy to give a Stitch Con report next time. See you then. Best, K
I have Baby It’s Cold Outside in my stash…your finish is beautiful.. I would choose the velvet fabric for the drum top. Can’t wait to hear about Stitch Con and see how much you manage to get stitched😉 Have fun!
Great tomato!! Love it. I would do velvet for the drum, and i like the hummingbird for stitch con. Those snowmen pillows are adorbs! Nice work on the quilt. I’m not so good with the scraps. See you soon.
Norma, We are on the same wave length. Team velvet is the overwhelming winner, and I agree. I have decided on hummingbird for stitch camp. I have really moved away from scrappy for quilts because I am so into custom quilting. See you next time. Best, K
Your quilt is beautiful. I am a huge fan of Bonnie Hunter! I have 2 leader Enders nearly finished and my guess is your other book is in Florida! As always, I love seeing all your projects. Such inspiration ❣️
John Turner has a great video on you tube for lacing cross stitch. It’s called Lacing Needlework - 15 minutes. He demonstrates lacing without having to knot thread. This is the method I now use and I love it - easy.
Mind blowing! Thank you so much for sharing that information. I am going to check that out for sure. I hope it will cure my issues with lacing. See you next time. Best, K
Beautiful quilt and lovely projects. The stitching community is great when you need something. The Gobelin is an adjustment but it looks so good on projects. I don’t use long thread and if you are doing one color, I tend to have 3 needles going with the thread. The stop and start slows me down. Have fun at Stitch Con.
I always enjoy your quilts. I need to snag her book, I am not a scrap organizer, I have scraps stached everywhere in my sewing room that I really need to get organized. Your quilt is beautiful and I love the name especially because I live between the Blue Ridge and Alleghany Mountains. Thanks for sharing and enjoy Stitchcon!
Thank you so much for your comment on my video. Organizing scraps is definitely a daunting task. I have been working on it for a long time. Bonnie Hunter's system has made all the difference for me. You certainly must not be too far from me in KY. I love the quilt and the name of it. See you next time. Best, K
Wonderful video Karen!! I will be looking for you at Stitch Con and you are very welcome to sit at our table there will be lots of room for several of our regulars are not attending this year. Can’t wait to meet you!!!!
Kim, Thank you so much for your comment on the video. I love the tomato too. I wish my first retreat could have been The Attic, but oh well, I'll take what I can get. See you next time. Best, K
Just watched your floss tube and heard that you are going to stitch con A. I am also attending stitch con A. This will also be my first time. I was on the wait list and this time I got in. I have also been going through my stash and trying to decide what to take to stitch. I will be looking forward to meeting you!
Kathy, We must meet up when we are there. I am also a late add to Weekend A. I am overwhelmed by the expectations for gifts and exchanges. I have fully finished my smalls exchange, but the table-mate gift has me freaking out. What are you doing? We can communicate through my email. Best, K
I think Both go nicely, but the Print is a directional, so I would go with the solid Prim Grey. I have lots of Birds too for the Camp Challenge, so I will pick a small & a medium design. I stitched H in H Hummingbird Sampler, very quick to stitch, 1 color, it was a breeze. Those LFA's would be another great choice!
Thanks so much for weighing in on the Elizabeth Eyles question. I hadn't considered that the fabric is directional. Good eye. Summer camp will be another decision still to make. Take care. Best, K
Hi Karen! I just got the tomato pattern, but haven’t sewn it up yet. Yours is adorable! I better get busy! I’m excited to hear your review of Stitch Con (I have never been). I’m sure it will be so much fun! Your projects are so awesome and your quilt is amazing!!! ❤
Tricia, I am happy to know that you got the pattern for the big tomato. So much fun. It is a great thrill for me to have gotten into Stitch Con. Let's both try to get in next time. I know we would have fun. I really appreciate your comments on my stitching. Best, K
For Stitch Con, you could stitch the outlines of the Luminous Fiber Arts birds, stitch the wing outlines and body outlines so that your white areas are outlined around, then do the fill in stitching while at Stitch Con 😊
Angela, That is a genius idea. I hadn't really thought about having outline, so I would only be filling in at Stitch Con. Thank you for that great idea. Take care. Best, K
Thank you so much for commenting on my video. I have several waiting in my closet for me to get the long arm up and running again. I have a couple others kitted, but not sewn. I have to look at the state fair categories to see where I will put my limited time. Hope to see you next time. Best, K
Martha, Thank you for letting me know that the volume is a problem. I haven't gotten that comment for a while, so I assumed that I had solved it. So sorry. Thanks for sticking with me. Thank you for your compliment on my work. Take care. Best, K
Jacqueline, Team velvet is winning by a landslide. Yes, the Magni-clip works with my glasses, even though my glasses are tri-focal. That usually causes a problem, but this is working out great. Best, K
@@cindygaudet1390 It should have it, though, if you want to say, "It is= It's." Without the apostrophe, you are using a possessive pronoun. Grammatically, it would be incorrect.
Magnificent quilt, Karen. Thanks for sharing all of your projects. Have a great time at Stitch Con!!!
Sarah, Thank you for your comment. Happy to know that you enjoyed the video. See you next time. Best, K

Hi Karen-You have exciting summer stitchy plans. I will be doing Cross Stitch Summer Camp, too. While either the velvet brown or the floral would be good on the drum top, my vote would be the velvet. Enjoy StitchCon.
Great tomato 🍅 Enjoy Stitch Con.
Lisa, Thank you for your comment on my video. Happy to know that you liked what you saw. Take care. Best, K
Great show again.
A new Car huh, might take more than seven stitchers for that! You would probably enjoy he Hummingbird pattern for Stitchcon. Have a fab time.
Julia, Yea, I am shooting for the moon. I think I am leaning to the humming bird pattern. See you soon. Best, K
Another awesome video!! Thank you!! I am team velvet!!
Thank you for weighing in on the Elizabeth Eyles finish. Take care. Best, K
Best, K
Your quilt, as usual, fantastic!
Jacqueline, Thank you for your wonderful comment on my video. I love the quilt too.
Best, K
Have a blast at Stitch Con!
The tomatoe😍😍😍!!
Love your tomato! I’m thinking of doing Gathering Stitches for stitch camp. Have a fabulous time at Stitch Con!!
Cheryl, Thank you for your kind comment on my video. I think I am going with Hummingbird for stitch camp. I will be happy to give a Stitch Con report next time. See you then. Best, K
I enjoy your thought process. Your projects are very nice.
Thank you so much for your comment on my video. I am happy to know that you enjoyed what you saw. Best, K
I have Baby It’s Cold Outside in my stash…your finish is beautiful.. I would choose the velvet fabric for the drum top.
Can’t wait to hear about Stitch Con and see how much you manage to get stitched😉 Have fun!
Karen, Thanks for weighing in on my drum finish. Team velvet is winning by a landslide. See you next time. Best, K
Stumbled across you and very glad I did!
Welcome to my channel. I am so happy that you found me. Hope to see you next time. Best, K
Thank you so much for commenting on my video. Bonnie Hunter is fabulous. So happy to know that we have a lot in common. See you next time. Best, K
Renee, Thanks so much for the comment. I agree about the Gobelin. It really slows me down. Take care. Best, K
Your quilts and stitching always inspire me. Have fun at stitch con!
Thank you so much for your kind comment. See you next time. Best, K
Best, K
@@recoveringmonogamousstitch1947 I live in VA, a short trip, lol
Wonderful video Karen!! I will be looking for you at Stitch Con and you are very welcome to
sit at our table there will be lots of room for several of our regulars are not attending this year. Can’t wait to meet you!!!!
Lynn, Thank you so much. I have no group to meet with, so I would love it if I could join you. It is coming up fast. See you soon. Best, K
Beautiful quilt.
Thank you so much for your compliment on the quilt. I love it too. See you next time. Best, K
Love your tomato! Have fun at Stitch Con!
Kim, Thank you so much for your comment on the video. I love the tomato too. I wish my first retreat could have been The Attic, but oh well, I'll take what I can get. See you next time. Best, K
Your quilt is stunning!
Thank you so much for your comment. Hope to see you next time.
Best, K
Just love your quilt. I’ve also just started the Jars. Im on jar 2. I agree it’s not an easy stitch ❤. Look forward to our progress
Donna, So happy that you stopped by. I would love to keep up with your progress. Are you on Instagram? See you next time.
Take care. Best, K
Got me that tomatoe, had to after seeing yours!
Yes, the tomato is to die for. Hope you can make one for yourself. Best, K
Best, K
Stained glass is fun to do! I checked out her website and she certainly does beautiful work!
Take care. Best, K
Velvet is classic for drum top! How about having some fun and putting the print on the bottom?
Diane, LOVE that suggestion. The velvet is the overwhelming favorite for the top. I hadn't even thought about the bottom. Genius! Best, K
💕💕💕
Lori, Thank you so much for watching my video. See you next time. Best, K
Hi Karen! What quilts are you working on now? I absolutely love your channel. Thank you for the inspiration!
Thank you so much for commenting on my video. I have several waiting in my closet for me to get the long arm up and running again. I have a couple others kitted, but not sewn. I have to look at the state fair categories to see where I will put my limited time. Hope to see you next time. Best, K
Karen, I absolutely love your videos. Could you increase your volume on your recording. Your work is fantastic.
Martha, Thank you for letting me know that the volume is a problem. I haven't gotten that comment for a while, so I assumed that I had solved it. So sorry. Thanks for sticking with me. Thank you for your compliment on my work. Take care. Best, K
Velvet
Thanks for weighing in on team velvet. See you next time. Best, K
Yay, first 👍
I like the velvet for the drum top. Do you wear your glasses with your magnifier?
Jacqueline, Team velvet is winning by a landslide. Yes, the Magni-clip works with my glasses, even though my glasses are tri-focal. That usually causes a problem, but this is working out great. Best, K
I asked Mr. Enabler the other day if he was going to grill fat quarters on Sunday! 🤦♀️ 🙄
It was hard to see, but it looks like there's no apostrophe in the word "It's" on your finished "Baby It's Cold Outside." There needs to be one.
The pattern doesn’t have one, some add it some don’t
@@cindygaudet1390 It should have it, though, if you want to say, "It is= It's." Without the apostrophe, you are using a possessive pronoun. Grammatically, it would be incorrect.
@@333swhite oh totally agree! Just was saying if she did it to be the same she did it right. It would bother me as well.
@@cindygaudet1390 I'm thinking Karen would want to know. I taught English for 35 years, so these things jump out at me.😽
I was bothered by that also. You are absolutely correct that it needs to be there. I debated with myself, but decided to stitch it as charted. Best, K
I sent you several emails and they won’t go through.
Kathy, I have checked my gmail and I don't find any message from you. Please check that you have spelled the channel name correctly. Best, K
