Thank you so much for this video. I really could not figure out why there was such a complex lid system, and ended up breaking the seal to get to the product. I almost threw away the 'extra' lid material, but thankfully did not. Even with the seal broken, with a couple of pumps I was able to get the cap to function properly.
Hi there; thanks for watching! There is not much printed on the packaging for how to use this tub dispenser. There is a photo-instruction, but it is on the *inside* of the carton! So unless you open and unfold the carton all the way, you probably wouldn't even know it's there. Admittedly it is not the best placement for instructions. But don't forget that you have a personal Beauty Consultant to reach out to with any questions or concerns, too! Whoever you are purchasing your products from should be ready & willing to help you out with anything. It's literally our job! 😉
Hi! I'm sorry you experienced challenges dispensing this product. You are not alone! The instructions are printed on the *inside* of the carton, in picture form. It's very easy to miss - hence why I filmed this video for my own customers! To answer your questions, unfortunately the vacuum seal is not truly fixable or re-sealable. However, if you screw the top part (silver band & pump mechanism) back onto the base (clear outer jar and inner silver tub) so that the tub is fully closed and product isn't exposed to air anymore, you should still be able to use and dispense the cream as shown in this video. It may take several more presses to "prime" the dispenser and get product to come out, but it should still work! :)
I just did the exact same thing. Oh well, now I know and won’t make the same mistake with my subsequent purchases. I believed that it wasn’t a pump because after 2-3 pumps without anything being dispensed, I moved on to unscrewing it. I’m thankful for the video.
@@4everThoughtful I'm glad this was helpful for you! I had the same experience with my first tub - it took closer to 10 pumps to get the product flowing! Definitely more than I had expected!
Technically yes, it can affect the product inside. But if you re-screw the lid on and use the pump as intended, AND use your product regularly (i.e., will run out after 4ish months), then it should still be safe to use up. :) If you are very concerned about it though, talk to your consultant and see if she can exchange your tub for a new one!
When the pump doesn't dispense any longer, is there truly no product in the jar? I'm just curious as I'm going through my first tub of this cream. I tend to wonder the same about the Lifting Serum.
Hi Norma, this is a fantastic question, and I'm actually working on a new video that addresses exactly that! :) You actually might be able to get a bit more product out of the jar after it no longer pumps out any more cream. Once you have used up what feels and seems to be the entire tub and no more is dispensed, it is safe for you to unscrew the jar at the silver rim to access the inside. (Just don't try this until you've used up as much as possible first! If your jar quits dispensing after a short time, the jar is probably NOT empty yet and you don't want to open it. Contact your consultant instead if the pump malfunctions like that early on.) I don't know exactly how much product may be left behind in the jar, but there will likely be at least a bit left that you can swipe out with a clean finger or beauty spatula! :) If you do try it out, comment here again and let me know what you find. I'm curious to know how much is left in there!
Hi Norma, I now have the video uploaded to my channel where I address accessing the last bits of product left behind in jars! Hopefully you will find that helpful as well. :) Here is the direct link: ua-cam.com/video/TkWtec80xYg/v-deo.html
Great question! As of right now, Mary Kay does not currently offer a refill program for any products. But I love the idea, and it would be awesome if we did have that option! I'll provide this as feedback to corporate. It might take a few years to change a system, but they do listen and respond to customer requests all the time! Hopefully this is one they can also consider for the future!
Hi Jeanie! I'm sorry you're having trouble with your product. If it isn't working as shown here, I'd recommend contacting your Independent Beauty Consultant for help or to process an exchange for you. It should work easily, so if it doesn't, you may have gotten a faulty dispenser. Definitely reach out to the MK girl that sold it to you and work with her to get the issue resolved! Mary Kay upholds a 100% lifetime satisfaction guarantee, so she should be able to help you out. If you are no longer connected with a Beauty Consultant, reach out to Mary Kay corporate (contact info is available on the website!) and they will be able to help you. :)

You are so welcome! I'm sorry you had such a struggle with your first tub. I do think the instructions could be made more obvious on the packaging!
Thank you for this video!!!
You're welcome, Ashley! Thanks for watching 😊

There were no instructions on how to dispense and I broke the seal. Can the vacuum be fixed? If not, is the top able to be unscrewed?
Thanks.

What happens if I unscrewed it without knowing there was a pump? Will losing the airtight seal effect the product?
