- The third world war is an unbelievable thought that IS possible to happen in the close future. But where shall it begin? Where will the beginning of the end start? We have created predictions into a small series where you will see what we think.

@TheNationalMilitary Radiation is measured in units known as roentgens. Radiation can only be stopped by certain elements including lead the most common. A radiation suit or a "Hazmat" suit. This does not shield you from gamma radiation (found in bomb) but prevents direct contact with or inhalation of radioactive particles or gases. If such a suit existed "Chernobyl" would not have been such a tragedy and Japan would possibly be able to fix their present nuclear disaster.
Such a full frontal invading force would have to contend with C130 gunships, A10's, Apache helicopters, and a technologically superior cavalry. Given the North's strength in numbers, it is plausible the North could gain significant advances initially but with tremendous casualties and loss of equipment. Any occupying force from the north would likely have to content with diminishing supplies and constant air bombardment. All this of course, assumes tactical nukes are not used.
I'm pretty sure Il doesn't want war in his lifetime. My concern is with his successor, he'll be the one to do something stupid.

@Killazer China also does quite a bit of economic trading with U.S., so unless a direct provocation takes place or world population outpaces the resources to maintain it, it wouldn't make sense to go to war with the U.S. from a purely economical standpoint. Russia also maintains the largest nuclear arsenal in the world so a direct attack from the U.S. is improbable at best. Considering both sides have the best nuclear strike capabilities worldwide, both are a threat to each other.
@TheNationalMilitary Have you seen a radiation suit? I would love to see a soldier trying to fight in one of those. Impossible. Too bulky.
for clarity, the hypothetical excursion from North Korea is assuming the allied counter offensive is overwhelming the KPA northward to the Chinese boarder with th likelihood of invading China. That would be the likely reason for Chinese involvement, a situation where its sovereignty is directly threatened.

@BuBzIeNYNY main thrust was at the Idea Chinese concerns re: NK tests (hence my feed their own people jibe). China sustains NK food, energy and tech supply, not to mention the diplomatic muscle/cover. If the food was cut off the army's families would struggle, if energy was cut off that would become intensified (the commanders can easily be sustained by local production but not hordes of footsoldiers). NK is a Rook in the geopolitical chess game. Very useful but not a game decider.

1.DPRK has no long-range delivery vehicles so they can only threaten South Korea's capital with their nuclear weapons for now.
2.North Korea will most probably continue nuclear tests because only nuclear weapon guarantees real independence in these days of American hegemony.
3.Nuclear weapon is the most peacekeeping thing in the world despite what propaganda says. Unless parity between Nuclear states falls we will never see WW3, I guarantee that.
But based on the intercontinental missile tests done recently, I do believe Japan may be on the hit list too, and for good reasons. Americans have numerous naval and training camps all over the country, and is the main watchtower over the Pacific region. Lets just hope the don`t strike Tokyo, cos i`m there (or here, now).

@OSTlewstein my postulation only assumes involvement between the Koreas and the U.S. It doesn't make sense however from an economical standpoint for the Chinese or the middle east (except perhaps Iran) to side with the North unless there was a clear threat of an excursion from north Korea into China. Russian involvement would require a mobilization of troops and hardware across thousands of miles and could allow hostile neighbouring countries to the south or the chechnyans to take advantage.

@acidbubblebath77 If the North successfully neutralized military targets with tactical nukes and could somehow gain air superiority, then the outcome could be significantly more favorable for the North.
I think world war 3 would pretty much just be europe and amerika vs midle east and afrika and/or east asia

@OSTlewstein at any rate, irrespective of advantages in firepower or military might which we can go back and forth on with nobody changing their opinions, why would the The Russians and Chinese take that kind risk? If economical considerations are not serious enough, I suspect an eventual escalation to strategic nuclear exchanges and a post apocalyptic nightmare would be.

@BuBzIeNYNY True enough (possibly, NK does not like these kind of things verified). However the point I am making is that NK strategic weapons could well have a Chinese over ride locked in as exchange for the Chinese life support they are dependent on. They would need Chinese support to "defend" against the retaliation. NK Vs SK would be the title but the real battle would be US VsChina. Theoretrically could happen very easily but realistically neither is sloppy enough to allow it.

@98765432123456789000 I agree desperation can be abused. In North Korea it is not being abused in the German sense. The 3rd Reich benefited from the poverty coz they had the resources to maximise the benefits as world leaders in such things as Psychology on a mass level especially because hi tech engineers etc were hungry. they had democracy which only crumbled by the will of the people after the Nazis showed abilities to provide for the populace. Nk waged war before selling their ideology.
