  • In this video I assemble the Majacraft Suzie Spinning Wheel
The Suzie is the most senior wheel in the Majacraft lineup, it was launched more than 30 years ago. It is the true workhorse in the line, with very simple, straightforward look, but able to make all types of yarn, from very fine lace to bulky art yarns. It can use every accessory in the quiver of products offered by Majacraft.

she's a beautiful wheel!!! i wanted to let you know corn starch works just as well as Talcum powder and I actually prefer it over baby powder. It's softer, smoother, and less damaging to the lungs should you breathe some of it. Thanks for this tutorial... wish I had watched one of these before assembling my Rose... would have helped a lot! When I got my Rose, she had the stop already installed. It only took me 20 minutes to figure that part out lol

Wow - that is a great tip! I will mention that in future videos, thank you so much for telling me!

When you attach the stem assembly to the base, I wonder if it might be a good idea to get the four bolts started, like you did with the conrods, and then go in a circle, tightening the bolts in sequence a bit at a time? That would give you a bit of wiggle room if things needed to shift a bit to align. Does that make sense?
Also, I’m not a wheel spinner and I wondered why you’d want to change the placement of the spinning head like you showed at the end of the video? Could you show that when you do the spinning demo?

Hi Karen - that is a great idea on the assembly - I'll try that with the next wheel I assemble if it has the same setup. My spinning video should go up today, and I tilt the head in it so you can see what I mean. Thanks!
