“I’m a troubled man, by the things I do” - yeah I think you may be missing the point of the song. I think there is a bit of sarcasm - in some of the lines. “Buy yourself a dream - how’s it looking?” Basically asking you how that’s panning out. And at the end of the song - he’s been told to move on. I fail to see any optimism. I feel the song is more of an existential examination of following ones drives to be a “happy man”
This is one of these songs which make me feel like I don’t know what I’m doing or who I am anymore.Theres just this pressuring feeling inside my chest and the realization that everything’s meaningless.But it’s not a bad feeling after all it’s actually really liberating...

I dunno, but these songs make me feel a different type of good - coming from a (mainly) hardcore hip hop fan!!
