This song is part of the reason I own a home today. During Covid I told myself that I would finally work to make myself happy and since then I've accomplished more then ever.

“I’m a troubled man, by the things I do” - yeah I think you may be missing the point of the song. I think there is a bit of sarcasm - in some of the lines. “Buy yourself a dream - how’s it looking?” Basically asking you how that’s panning out. And at the end of the song - he’s been told to move on. I fail to see any optimism. I feel the song is more of an existential examination of following ones drives to be a “happy man”
The song is pointing out that material things like "buying a dream" are attempts to make oneself happy,, but that they are fairly superficial things.
Most underrated group of music ever... They produce real music and songs

I dunno, but these songs make me feel a different type of good - coming from a (mainly) hardcore hip hop fan!!
