How to Replace the Battery in a 2014 Honda CR-V Key Fob
Tools Needed:
🛠️Flathead screwdriver
🛠️Phillips head screwdriver (size #0)
🛠️Replacement battery (CR1620)
Instructions:
Prepare the Key Fob:
📝Flip the key fob onto its back with the Honda logo facing upwards.
Remove the Screw:
📝Use the Phillips head screwdriver to unscrew the single screw on the back of the key fob.
Pry Open the Key Fob:
📝On the side of the key fob, you will find a small groove.
📝Insert the flathead screwdriver into the groove and gently pry open the key fob. Keep the fob on its back while doing this to prevent any parts from falling out.
Locate the Battery:
📝Once opened, you'll see the battery inside. Note that the plus (+) side of the battery is facing down towards the case.
Remove the Old Battery:
📝Use the flathead screwdriver to carefully release and remove the old battery.
Insert the New Battery:
📝Place the new CR1620 battery into the slot, ensuring the plus (+) side is facing down towards the case and the rough/dotted side is facing upwards towards you.
📝You should hear a small click when the battery is securely in place.
Reassemble the Key Fob:
📝Align the back cover of the key fob with the front part.
📝Press the two halves together firmly until they snap into place, similar to closing a sandwich.
📝Screw in the previously removed screw to secure the back cover.
Test the Key Fob:
📝Ensure that the key fob is working correctly by pressing the buttons to confirm they are functioning as expected.
