Nice way to clean a tank and get some work done in the process. The tank on my Oliver is rustier than I'd like. I put an in tank screen on the inlet for my sediment bowl and haven't had any trouble more trouble from rust. That's a nice 185, those are good sounding tractors. Thanks for sharing, Mike! I hope you have a good one!
Luckily your tank is sort of squarish to work well that way. I have a Farmall Cub that has the tank as part of the hood, would be a little bit trickier to pull that off, lol.
It's really not too bad to do. My one CA tank had damage, pinholes. Tried to braze them up but never got them to seal, finally coated it with por 15. Like to have a better tank for it but CA tanks are hard to come by.
@@justinblain928 The por 15v worked good, just follow the instructions to the letter. I don't coat unless really necessary. My tank could be fixed with body putty but I would prefer a nicer one, someday.

You're right, the shape made it easier to work with. When I did the one off the 756 it was bigger and harder to manage.
I have a CA tank you can do next. lol. My son’s puller build has some nasty old gas and a little not a lot of surface rust.

@ they are. This one has a dent but not really worth fixing due to going on a puller. I never tried that sealer.
