Will: "Harmony" didn't fly (yet) for the same reason "Sweeney Todd" would have gotten Sondheim burned at the Broadway stake if he'd brought it out sooner. (C'mon...you think people came to the theater "expecting" the Johanna quartet opening of Act 2?) I heard "Scores" and immediately said, "Manilow pulled a Sondheim." It will have its day...and maybe if you're lucky, by then your voice will drop & you can be the rabbi! Beautifully done. Thank you for the back story (I never saw the show & didn't know "rabbi & his shiksa"). xo & keep breaking musical theater legs! Kate

And here we are on April 13, 2022, and the show is opening on Broadway tonight. So I guess it's no longer one of "the musicals that never came to Broadway." Never count Barry Manilow out!
