Frankly, I really like how engaged Shapel is with listening to the guests and everyone in general. He shows a genuine interest in everyone around him. It can be perceived as him placating Brendan, but he's just around him the most on camera. Shapel treats everyone with the same amount of respect.
Not sure you noticed, but his isnt the place where you point out the positives of him being on the show. But yeah no doubt, and he always brings such good positive vibes. And he plays his "role" perfectly. He knows brendan & brian have good chemistry & are the "stars"(for lack of a better term) of the show, so he doesnt try to do too much.

@@flexathillcrest1 how do you feel about it since the move to Austin? I still love it and watch every week, but it’s not the same to me without the band. I understand the whole band wasn’t gonna and some couldn’t move out of cali, and whatever other issues, but the characters and the input the band brought was an addition to the show I really miss. There was never a dry moment with them on stage
