Hi! Very useful info! How can you edit the display colors in the IFC viewer? Does it need to be configured before exporting the IFC? What command should I use for that?
Thanks for explaining it nicely. I have jsut one question. At minute 9:40 , why does all the object still come under IfcBuiltElement??? Is there a way to remove it?. All my files area having this, despite i did all mapping export configuration for each layer and type of object. It doesn't go. Please suggest.
Thank you for the video, it's very helpful! Is there a way to assign a specific mapping to an object? For example, my Pave01 should be IfcCourse.PAVEMENT, but it always appears as IfcBuiltElement.
Great video!!! Thanks for being so clear giving us an excellent overview in only 10 minutes. The only thing I still don't understand is how to assign custom property sets to the model. Before the 4.3 civil 3d plugin it was necessary to assign to the solids extracted form the corridor the property sets using Property Set Data panel. Is there a "simple" way to define corridor property sets in order to export ifc objects with all required data? Form what I understood, the only possibile way is to modify .json files.
I mean, even modifying .json files the only things I can define are corridor properties, while corridor objects properties like UNICLASS codes of Pave, Base, etc. can't be assigned. Do I still need to extract solid from corridors?
Thanks for your comment, I absolutely agree that this is not intuitive and I don’t have an answer myself - we are currently waiting for the official documentation to be provided by the development team! I’ll share it here as soon as we have it, thanks for your patience!
Wao ! amazing ! just what I needed. Im having problems with the IFCINFRAFRASAVEMAPPINGCONFIG, something witk the " JIT Debugging ************** Application does not support Windows Forms just-in-time (JIT) debugging. Contact the application author for more information." . Any advice?
When I export using 4x3 I can't use the ifc in ACC model coordination for clash detection. the old exporter 2x3 works. what is the difference? how can i export to ifc in 4x3 so that it can also have geometry used in clash detection?
Hi, I have a question about wall openings for IFCexport. Why do I see opening of walls as transparent blocks in Navisworks? How can I remove them from ifc export for ifc 2x3?
thanks so much for this wonderful video, is that possible to share your excerse file as well as the final IFC exported file so that I can follow your steps? much appreciated!
Thanks for your comment, glad you appreciated the video! This is an internal test file, I'll double check to see if we can share - or eventually share another dataset. 👍🏼
what a great video! btw hi Lejla, can you please tell me how to setting coordinates in revit same as GIS Coordinate System in Revit after set project base point ? Thank You!
My Civil 3D exports IFC file to 4X3 Schema. How can i change it to export to 2X3? I saw in video you mentioned it, but it was a bit fast for me. Or at least IFC 4 Schema.
You sure? You know 2x3 is 18 years old and nobody thought of Infra back then… Anyway, you‘d need to use the regular export in Civil (File > Export) and not the 4.3 plugin I‘m showing here! ✌🏼
Thank you for the video and the explanation! Can you do a video to demonstrate how the set project base point works when linking the IFC to Revit for a building project? Does the set project basepoint account for rotation? I have been using the shared reference tool and hope this new feature can simply the process by simply linking the IFC in revit. Many Thanks!
@BIMmeup I just tried the 4x3 export and everything works well except for the colours. Everything is white (color index 256). Do I need adjust some settings in the configuration files to export the colours as per my styles?
Thank you! I created a short overview about consuming / linking IFC4.3 in Revit - exporting is still largely experimental and there are no special settings for IFC4.3 in comparison to other versions. Let me know if you have any particular questions!
Would be useful. if iFC will be compatible with prt. As a carpenter I get IFC- files and cant use any BIM data in the parametric .prt software in which i draw my cabenitry. I use alibre and rhino atm.
First of all thanks a lot for the information provided! Second: Yes i would love to see what is possible in Revit with the json files and the csv 🙂 By the way: I still have problems to import IFC 4x3 pressure pipes into Revit. Open IFC-Viewer shows me all the parts wheras Revit doesn't show anything. Any guesses?
What do you mean by import? Please note you need to LINK the IFC4.3 in Revit, opening it won't work. Btw., the Revit video is now up and shows how the IFC4.3 can be used in the Revit environment - hope it answers at least some questions!
Hi Lejla, great video. A comment Civil 3d 2024 gives an error when exporting excavation elements. XXX Unrecognized Ifc Constructor for IfcEarthworksCut
Thanks Alvaro! Please submit a support case, I can't really tell what is causing the error message, but the Autodesk Support should be able to help you! Thanks! :) www.autodesk.com/support/contact-support
Of course, informat7ion and guidelines for the use of IFC 4.3 with Revit is as well mostly welcome ! Thanks a lot for your efforts.
Really great seminar. Fast & concise. Just what was needed. Looking forward to more ... thanks Lejla
You're a genius ! Thanks a lot !
Can't wait for the Revit part of it.

well done and thanks for that quick introduction!
Great Video! Thanks for sharing.

Great video. You covered so much in less than 10 minutes. I'm a sub now btw

Wonderful, thank you, one question,If we model in the specific coordinate system, is distortion from earth taken into account in IFC4x3?
Thank you for the clear presentation.
Amazing, thanks a lot! Very much appreciated and would love a follow-up video :)

Is there any chance to share that or similar Civil 3D infrastructure file for testing? Tnx,
what a great video! btw hi Lejla, can you please tell me how to setting coordinates in revit same as GIS Coordinate System in Revit after set project base point ? Thank You!
Thank you! I would recommend linking the DWG and using the Revit functionality "Acquire Coordinates" - have you already tried this?

Thanks - oh yeah that topic has been in my list for a while now, will definitely do it! 👍🏼

Thankyou. I'm also wondering: how can I set the rotation of the IFC basepoint?
Great presentation in very short time!! I am very curious also export and import settings of ifc4.3 in Revit.

tqvm i very love you . can i ask you about BIM if i have any question

Agree, but IFC was created for coordination purposes and is definitely not ideal for all workflows.

Please continue, perhaps integration with REVIT
Thank you so much 😊😊
i try use ifcInfraExport but not all property are mapping to IFC. (example End strilucture for pipe network)
when I export to IFC, it look like my shape code are not fully connected, it like a broken tooth.

PORQUE AL EXPORTAR UN CORREDOR DESDE CIVIL 3D NO RECONOCE LOS DAYLIGTH?
How the software knows in corridor that this part is rail, other curb, pave etc and can assign to correct IFCclass? Is it by code name, layer name?
Depending on the object it's layer name, block name or style name for Civil objects.
@@BIMmeup u mean civil3d use layer tu mapping element to ifc?
3 different command, 2 file types, 4 files, just that Autodesk doesn't have to make an UI.
