Kyla Campbell - the Double Tragedy that shaped this young Māori Leader I The Hui 2020

Kyla Campbell was a Waikato University student in 2017 when her mother Natanya and grandmother Wendy Campbell-Rodgers, were murdered in a senseless act of violence in Whāngarei. Her aunt Tish Campbell, and Waikato University Deputy Vice-Chancellor Dr Sarah-Jane Tiakiwai describe the wāhine toa and leader Kyla has become in the face of such tragedy.
