How awful. Even today Australia and NZ are marketed as some kind of Utopia however evil does not discriminate. It walks among us in cities, town , villages worldwide.

@@Indiah-fb2eq that's awful. I'm sorry u had been through such a terrible event in ur early life. That must have tortured u for years having to look over ur shoulders constantly from that time and onwards. I hope u have found some answers and solace in ur life now. An event like that will haunt u if it is left unsolved. I've been looking through unsolved crimes and mysteries in NZ and there are so many and it upsets me especially when they go cold for so many years. Two of my friends were murdered in two separate occasions and is still unsolved to this day. One happening in 2005 and the other in 2020 during the pandemic, both in the Waikato Region and there are no leads whatsoever and not enough exposure to get it prioritised. It always sits uneasy with me knowing the perpetrator is still out there on the loose. But yea I hope ur doing well and take care.

Murder was quite rare in New Zealand until the 1970s. I remember there being a few young women who never made it home: Olive Walker, Mona Blades, Jennifer Beard and Tracey Ann, who was the same age as me.

Indiah 1290 Best wishes to you hun, I always view the victims like you as brave survivors! You are stronger than you think, it’s ok to cry or break down whenever you need ok? Just remember to pick yourself up, self care - do what makes you happy and healthy or eat something that makes your soul happy❤︎ Don’t hold it in, talk heart to heart with someone you trust at least once a week.

From what I have been told by someone close to the case, and various pieces of information over the years, I’m about 90% sure it was a police officer that killed her.

my father suspected his cousin of doing it... after my father died in 2009 I made contact with Tracey's sister about my father's suspicions .. she said they had suspicions elsewhere so nothing came of it ..I still wonder if my father's cousin did it, I don't know if he's still alive I haven't heard anything of him in years.. but according to my father his behaviour was really suspicious at the time and for months after. we lived in west Auckland my father's cousin lived next door to us when this happened ..not sure what he did for a living but he definitely wasn't a cop.

she was a year older than me at the time of her murder. And only years later a friend I use to walk with along Te Atatu Road near Kokiri Street said she saw a man in a car as we walked by exposing himself. She was so shocked she didn't tell me until years later as we were about 12 at the time. I always have wondered if he was someone linked to Tracey Anns disappearance . There was also a pervert I was told to keep away from at the Waitmatea athletics club as he use to take knickers from peoples clothes line in the area. around Te Atatu Road. Another thing is where she went missing was just up from the Henderson Police Station.

I get flashes now and then of things that have happened and I believe the person that did this was a police officer or a security guard. The number that he gave was his badge number or employee number. And I believe he told her that there was something dangerous. Going on in the neighborhood and to get into his car. Because he had a badge or a uniform on, she trusted him.

She said about putting flowers at places people have died in road accidents - those roadside crosses etc. Or outside a dead victims home. Think all the flowers outside Buckingham Palace after Princess Diana died......the homes of murder victims - the Chris Watts case. Bouquets and flowers piled up outside where the mother and her 2 daughters were murdered.

I'm glad you noticed that, I thought the same thing, of course he wants to spend the rest of his life in the slammer so the police can brag about how capable they are and grab the glory. Remember what was said at inspector huttons funeral, some obviously young person lauded his honesty, forgetting that his actions although it got him a promotion cost us millions and damaged Arthur's life tremendously. Recently I went to the spca, I was feeding a stray cat, it wasn't feral, that's what you do enquire. They saw my dog getting out of the car, it's 12 and has arthritis. All of a sudden I'm the worst person in the world and the upshot I was threatened with legal redress and they took the dog away. The legal bit is a dead end and I insisted on having someone on my side. I knew a local psychic who could assist prior to euthanasia and square it off with the dog and me, I was then OK with it going ahead. Afterwards my family was touched on in almost glorious technicolour, accurate too, so what I am saying is try this avenue, many capable people can do this, it's far more mainstream these days.

That’s not what she said at all. She said her mum had asked her to go to the site and lay flowers. She said: “I know that’s what you do when there’s been an accident...” She was making a point about flower markers, there is no suggestion that she thinks what happened to her sister was an accident - she said she hopes the perpetrator has had an awful, awful life. Think it’s a bit crummy that you interpreted her words as something contrary to the pain she is clearly still going through 40 years after this horrific event, not really something you can ‘mishear’ if you’re paying attention.
